The #BudhaDal is a group within the Nihang Singh Khalsa, a Sikh military order. The Budha Dal is the oldest group in the Nihang Singh Khalsa, and is known for its disciplined order and structured leadership. The Budha Dal's leaders, or Jathedars, are chosen for their martial skill, spiritual knowledge, and commitment to the Sikh community.
Baba Binod Singh was the first Jathedar of the Budha Dal, and fought alongside Banda Singh against the Mughal Empire.
There are about 14 major groups of Nihangs, including three Buddha Dals and 11 Taruna Dals. Each Dal is led by a Jathedar, who presides over many gurdwaras.
