GURU GOBIND SINGH JI was the 10th and the last Guru of the Sikhs. He was the son of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, the 9th Guru and took the guruship in 1675, aged 9. Guru Gobind Singh Ji held the guruship for 33 years, until he left for heavenly abode in 1708.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji was a great scholar studying Persian, Sanskrit, Brig Bhasha and Arabic but also a great military genius. Guru Gobind Singh Ji accepted the use of power and the sword to fight tyranny in defence of religious freedom when other approaches failed. He fought twelve battles and the Guru’s four sons (Char Sahib Zaday) were killed in campaigns against tyranny.

    " ਬਾਬਾ ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ "
#BabaDeepSinghJi had vowed to avenge the desecration of the Golden Temple by the Afghan army. In 1757, he led an army to defend the Golden Temple. The Sikhs and the Afghans clashed in the Battle of Amritsar on 13 November 1757, and in the ensuing conflict Baba Deep Singh Ji was decapitated.
Baba Deep Singh Ji fought with the double-edged sword of weighing over 20kg (40lbs). Although Baba Deep Singh Ji was 75 years old, he carried the strength of a young warrior. Was it 'normal' to carry and fight with such a heavy sword? Of course it wasn't!

#nihangs are armed Sikh warriors, and these are also called Akali; Nihangs are mainly originated from Fateh Singh, and Guru Hargobind has stated it Nihangs warriors also dominated the history of the Sikhs; they are known for their numerous victories; they are also known for their bravery and skills in the battle, they have also formed armed Sikh empires and Khalsa army. The dress which Nihangs wear is known as Khalsa swarupa, the colour of the dress is super electric blue, and Guru Gobind Singh selected this colour. Nihangs also wear iron bracelets made of steel; they also carry a traditional dagger known as the kirpan.
