Kanga Single Ripper/ Pipe Layer and Stock Trough Planning.

We are planning our main water feed to out stock troughs from the water header tank. I'm still amazed on how easy it is to use, we are using 30mm (1") irrigation pipe as the feed to our stock troughs which will be managed using float valves in the troughs. This will be our base line for the start of the rotational grazing at FCFT. The Kanga single ripper pipe layer can handle the pipe joiners and makes it so easy to lay. With a depth 400mm there's no possible way of pipe damage over the years to come. What a great piece of kit.

Hi, great video. I’m doing something similar up here on the NSW mid cost. Seems like I don’t need the 1.5 inch poly I thought I’d need. But, just to confirm, what size are you actually using and does it deliver a good pressure to operate your float valves effectively?

Hey Crypto, I'm using 1" poly pipe. A couple of reasons - 1. I'm not really in any hurry to fill the stock troughs. As the cows drink the float slowly drops allowing the water to fill. 2. The 1' including fittings fits perfectly through the pipe layer. Hope this helps. Cheers

Gday. I noticed you use blue line for gravity feed. What is the difference between blue and green line hose? I need to use 3" main. I hope to get a traveling green pro irrigator that will run on around 75psi. what would you recommend?

Hey Casey, i'm only using the feed to gravity feed stock troughs, no irragation. I thinking the difference between the blue and green is just a classification for potable water. Green is rural and blue is for domestic and commercial water supply. A 3" would certainly give you the volume you need and the head height will determine the PSI. I'm about to do some tests for a hydro generator. I'll show PSI heights and volume to see what sort of hydro unit would best suit the needs on the farm.
