Hey Mr.Judy Gotta few good laughs reading through the comments. Any way glad you are working and uploading in a different environment. Thanks for the lessons.
Greg, great to see projects like these where your experience helps drive it forward. How is that other Arizona grazing project going you shared last year?
When a 500’ roll of the 3/4” HDPE pipe is unrolled, will it lay out reasonably flat or does it tend to recoil back into a roll? I’m wondering if I need to lay mine out for a few days before I can work with it. Thank you in advance,
Enjoyed you sharing the Arizona project. I look forward to more of this project. Will they begin grazing this winter on the ground or will they wait until after the first of the year?
I'm fixing to do this project... So with a frost line of about 24-30" do you have no trouble reaching down in there to hook up And getting that male end to release in what... a 6" riser? My arm is only 24"s and that would be just my fingers pulling that trigger. Thank you.
He’s actually putting the tape on the right direction. Not sure why others disagree. You do not want the torn off tape end turning into the threads. It should be tailing behind.
Greg, Could you tell me what size pipe are you running ? I've only been able to find the Plassion Agrifit fititngs up to 1-1/4". I would really like to have a 2" main line.
I always wrap Teflon tape, (PTFE tape, I think Teflon is illegal, too toxic), a little over the edge. I've failed to do that in the past, and had the tape pushed from the threads, bunching up below. Wrapping over doesn't allow the threads purchase on the tape to push it. (I'm an old line hand. We always give 3 wraps of tape).
@@iamchillydogg not really The threads are. Flat at top and bottom. But with mass production you can't tighten them up With lubricant 1 more turn gets the flats at top dropping into the flat at bottom Try a 5 yr apprenticeship You learn this in your first week
What are the potential impacts from groups of border traffickers and smugglers? Is this a high traffic area for that acivity? If so, what precautions are you taking to protect the line from "coyotes" who will have zero compunction about cracking open those couplers to get a drink for a band of thirsty travellers ? Private property owners along the border will tell you that northbound groups care not a whit for the property and infrastructure they encounter along their path and will do what they need to do in the harsh desert. Is there some kind of meter set up to tell you if the water flow suddenly turns up full blast and doesn't stop? That could serve as a warning for the managers so they can get out there with a team to walk the fence and replace any coupler(s). Will you instead leave a male attachment in each coupler which would allow passing groups to simply drink from the connection, removing the necessity of simply smashing the coupler and the resulting costly losses of water and replacements?
Sounds a lot like certain westbound groups that landed on the east coast a few hundred years ago @ "Private property owners along the border will tell you that northbound groups care not a whit for the property and infrastructure they encounter along their path and will do what they need to do in the harsh desert."
Looking forward to seeing how this project goes over the years. Hope we get some regular updates. Good luck to all who are involved🍀🇦🇺🌅
It would be great to see an update!
I have over 20 of these installed on the farm now thank's to Greg. So cheap and easy and changed the grazing efficiency immensely. Thank you!
Wow thanks for telling us about putting the connections every 500’
So awesome to see this! I love these extra farm projects
Greg, you are a high quality teacher. I really appreciate your videos. Following this project closely.

Are you telling me Greg Judy’s going to grow grass in the desert
Greg, great to see projects like these where your experience helps drive it forward. How is that other Arizona grazing project going you shared last year?
Good Day!
Where in Arizona? I'm in Buckeye. Heck Greg, stop by and have some lunch!
Best explanation of how you do water points. Keep them coming
You are a great teacher and very inspiring!
Where can I find the design of this project?
Can you run Hdpe pipe above ground? Or would the sun destroy it? My land is in Napa California near lake Berryessa and it’s really hilly land.
Is that a 4 inch pvc or 5 inches

3/4” is easy to work with. 1.5” diameter pipe is much more challenging!!!
the riser is a piece of 8" pipe no? like on the ponds?
Thank you for showing it can be done anywhere. If it is God's will they can make soil in the desert.
That looks like some prime grazing land for there, a high stock density of 2 cow/calf pairs per 500 acres. lol
LOL. But when they’re finished they’ll have enough grass for 2 cow/calf pairs per half-acre.
Thanks for the info. What if I want to supply my pasture with two inch pipe so I can supply a large sprinkler. Do they have 2 inch couplers?
Not that I'm aware of
Really enjoyed this.

As soon as they get the water and electric hooked up.
@@gregjudyregenerativerancher will you be able to have any follow up videos of this before project? Hope so
two ptts fire and trees
These things are to cool. Gonna get some of these one day.
I could not hear where you can buy the "T" fittings and connectors. Are these typical at your local big box hardware store?
Powerflex Fence Company

Thank you Greg this Video is very informative.
Any different this year.
Excellent project!!, Last year you visited in AZ, You put video and removed it
This is cool! Thank you!
Is there a certain type of grass going to be used in this harsh environment? How about trees?
In a later video there are some smallish mesquite trees.
I will look for updates on this project.

This going on now? I’m out here on vacation. Would love to stop by.

Thank-you!!!
@@gregjudyregenerativerancher aren't you amazed at how closely people follow the vids? I am.
The tape is the right direction but he's holding the roll "upside down" the other way,the the wraps would only take a few seconds...so much easier
LOL. The technique is backwards, not the direction of wrap.
Typical welder. Always arguing with the fitters. LOL. 😉
We use "saddles" to install the quick couplers at locations other than pipe joins. They are much cheaper than joiner T's.

1.5" pipe
Have they been down to see what's happening in the Chihuahuan Desert Grasslands of Mexico @WK0Q ????
What’s going on there?

Teflon is a brand name for PTFE
Well first off he wrapped the tape the wrong direction....😎
Dang it. I just commented that. Guess I should have read all the comments first. LOL. I
Cya tomorrow 😀
Maybe using a deep ripper on a bull dozer would be cost effective for speeding up the pipe laying
As a fitter
Teflon tape or pipe dope doesn't hold water back
All it is a lubrication so you can tighten a little more
It's so you can take it apart years later.

Insightful questions.

No tape on plastic.
Yes tape on plastic.
Wrong direction on tape
Great video. That’s not the proper technique for applying Teflon tape though.
Thot it was clockwise with the threads. Looked like he did a few extra wraps around the pipe tho.. Surprised it fit when threaded
Steve Aguinaga it’s how the tape role was held while wrapping. Take a look at this. th-cam.com/video/vAYK_LXjubc/w-d-xo.html
