At MurderData.org, you'll see that 33% (1/3) of all American homicides since 1965 remain unsolved. Presumably many, if not most of these homicides were "stranger crimes" committed by someone who had no social link to the victim and who was careful not to leave any evidence. A 1983 FBI film named "No Apparent Motive" discusses that the number of such apparently motiveless murders exploded around 1950 and have increased ever since. An LA detective in that film talked about "recreational murders", murders that are committed just for the thrill of murdering someone. The Univ of Michigan Law School maintains an online "Registry Of Exonerated Convicts", convicts who were wrongly convicted of murder but who were exonerated many years later. The list had 2200+ names the last time I looked and experts agree that this is only a small fraction of the wrongly convicted murderers who still sit in prison. The sad truth is that there are really more than 33% of all murders that remain unsolved. The percentage would even be higher if cops didn't make up the difference by putting innocent people in prison just to say that they did "solve" the murder. So, before you accuse anyone of murder where there is no conclusive hard evidence, remember all those wrongly convicted murderers who who are still sitting in prison. Random crime, and random murder is a real problem in America, but the cops and the Govt suppress this information and actually put innocent people into prison to make the public feel more secure and safer than they rightly should. What needs to be confronted is what is wrong with a society that generates so many random murderers. Serial killers as we know them today were quite rare before 1870, but WHY ? The answer to this question goes beyond individual "evil" criminals. We live in a Sick Society that is getting increasingly Sicker every day. If and when the cops and the Govt get the courage to tell the public about how Sick American Society really is, we can begin to understand and begin to correct the horrible problem of random, motiveless murders in America. ... jkulik919@gmail.com
thank you again for another excellent video. The Rhonda Hinson case is very depressing. I have seen it covered on Unsolved Mysteries but that made no mention of the boyfriend or the reverend, who both seem like very unpleasant people. It is an interesting perspective and it seems like there is a lot of circumstantial evidence pointing in their direction. In the UM episode, her parents both seem like lovely people and I hope they and her brother get closure and justice soon.

Although this happened in 1981, Rhonda’s case is discussed regularly today in our county. Remembering Rhonda Hinson on Facebook has months of articles about her case. It’s a tragedy that there were so many mistakes made investigating this murder and that her murderer is still free.
The 2nd set of murders made me think of the Zodiac Killer immediately. I firmly believe The Zodiac Killer worked in the aviation industry as a grounds crew member. Having done so myself I hypothesize he took his name and symbol from Zodiac Aerospace. They've since changed their logo (as many corporations do)....yet I've seen that symbol and name thousands of times in the cargo hold of planes I've loaded and unloaded on small aluminum badges affixed to the cargo holds interiors. Also given the Zodiacs active time frame during the Vietnam War......seems he must have served in Korea and was not availible for active duty during Vietnam. Perhaps he was disgruntled by that, and perhaps his military training had enabled his ventures into civilian sectors of aerodynamics. Also working up and down the coast line would have made multi jurisdictional cooperation very difficult.
Makes sense and also would coincide with a comment on here that D.B. Cooper may have been the Zodiac. That could be how D.B. knew about lowering the air stairs on the Boeing 727 and speeds when he jumped out.
The Swindle and Robert/Linda cases are not the only ones with the same characteristics. It has been suggested that the person who subsequently became the Zodiac killer first committed the beach/cliff/couples murders. The development of the perp behavior is supported by the fact that as a "novice" he chose to shoot from afar at first, then worked up to attacking closer targets, such as the lovers lane murders in northern CA. Thanks, this is good coverage.
Hi Robert! I've been wanting to submit my families case which I really think would catch your attention. Your website doesn't seem to work, how can I submit? No one has ever covered my uncles case and it involved 5 people's death, including my 3 month old baby cousin. It went unsolved for 13 years and was finally solved in 2016. I have some photos, newspaper articles and one creepy photo as well. I would love to hear back from you! Thanks in advance! Edit: If this helps a little...you can google the "2003 Olney Arson" so you can see the story. I would really love for you to cover this case in full detail. My family has given me a lot of details to this story.
@ Natasha DeJesus: I would hit up John Lordan from the LordanArts channel ("case cracked") or Kendall Rae. They both are so professional and they both really care about the people and the cases that they cover. They are well respected and their reputations speak for themselves. Good luck 🤝 and God Bless 🙏. I'm so happy for you that your uncle's case was finally solved after so many years!!! 👏🏿

In the first case, why do cops say it "always comes back to one suspect" (the husband)? It could be a hired hitman, but a thrill killer (completely unrelated to the couple) is an equally good explanation
Who is usually the killer? The spouse. Also, if it's spree killer, why is there only one victim? What are the chances of the husband being at another park..and other people remembering him? Why did they remember him? Was he making sure he was remembered?
@@bobbierobinson6269Who is "usually" the killer has no bearing on who is a killer in a particular case. Cases are decided by evidence not "probabilities" from other crimes. I didn't say a "spree killer", I said a "thrill killer" i.e. one who kills people for no reason, sometimes with very good preparation. @@rixilonnituo i prefer to think it was someone taking out terrible haircuts. The Zodiac is everyone's go-to for unsolved murders in California that roughly occurred during the years he was active. It's easy.
In the early 90s my uncle was hanging out with friends and someone from a distance building sniped him and got him right through the chest. He miraculously recovered and lives in AZ with his wife and has a successful business.!
Just want to mention that @8:15, he says that they got married in 1984 but it should say 1964. I was super confused for the 1st couple of minutes in that story because in the pictures, the couple (and everything else) looks older than me and I was married in 1983. So yeah, after that he did clarify that this was in 1964
They could “try” to compare the paint on the watch to the paint on the cottage Johnny painted in order to see if it matches - to then connect the two murders. And go from there.
What takes me aback, is how Bernita taking her 4 yo daughter to the zoo wasn't even initially planned. The killer, if he premedited it, would have needed to follow her, understand she was going to stop by the zoo ticket booth, know right away the best possible vantage point to get to her, make sure nobody among the crowd takes interest in him, prepare his equipment and shoot, all while being unsure whether the target would still be in the line of sight (if she's done buying the tickets or shielded by another customer). What is the probability of that, without the sniper, for instance, being fed live information by a third party? If it was a first degree murder, I am certain it was also a plot involving at least two people. Besides, I wonder if she wasn't working around a secret project, at her job. Maybe she knew sensitive data and was offed by precaution, or something.
Jeez I’m sure that Bernita wasn’t killed by someone her husband hired 🙄 He obviously directed her to walk towards the zoo because there were 300 other people in the park. Now he’s making money off of a book about the murder in addition to keeping his job as a police officer and custody of their children. WOW.
I just read more details on the Bernita White Case. This is from an article on Medium: From the Shadows. Who Killed Bernita White? On the way back to Potter Park, the car club friend called back to arrange their meet up. When he got near the park he noticed traffic was moving much slower than when he left. He saw emergency vehicles and when he approached the entrance he asked a police officer what happened, to which he was told a middle-aged black woman was shot. Artis responded with, “well, I hope it’s not my wife, things are rough but it’s not that bad.”
@@1234597114 This video doesn't mention that Artis White was a MSP sniper. Also, there were no witnesses to Artis picking up his daughter. The daughter was left in the park alone by the time Artis arrived to pick her up.
In the 1980’s, I was going to NYC several times a year, and going by train. Then, a very short article appeared in the Baltimore Sun, just a few paragraphs. It stated that someone was firing shots from a hotel across the street from the train station in NYC. That was Pennsylvania Station Amtrak runs through that one. There’s another, Grand Station that has more local trains. I never saw of heard anything more about the shootings.
So the father of Rhonda's boyfriend had allegedly been inappropriate with her, went to look for her when she was missing even though she didn't like him and just happened to show up at the scene of her murder?!
I think the boyfriend father's molested her and began some sexual relationship that she was ashamed of. Wanted to tell her dad but didn't want it to escalate to violence. And when she claimed a friend of hers was seeing a "married man" to her mom she was talking about the boyfriend's dad. The dad was probably abusive and abused the boyfriend as well growing up causing him to be a toxic person and abuse others.
I dunno. It was only 100 yards. That's not a hard shot at all, lots of people train for that distance, it's probably the most common rifle zero there is.
In Rhonda's case, that shot would have been a difficult one to make for someone without experience. At least I would think so. Shooting at a moving vehicle, from behind it, and hitting exactly the drivers side indicates a skill set.
1:05 - Only Criminally Listed can make "I'm getting a little excited over here" sound so....... I don't know...... unexcited. lol Just f-in with you man. I love the channel.
@@eldorados_lost_searcher high caliber (.50 cal or larger) or high velocity or what? If it truly was a high caliber that could narrow down the suspects rapidly.
@@Tsumami__ They never found the bullet, so I'm speculating. But it didn't lose power and likely wasn't tumbling, or it's likely it'd have been found somewhat close to the victim, so I'm guessing, based on the little information I got from the video, that it was a high caliber round. But I'm just guessing based on those factors.
Not sure about story number three. If the husband did kill her what was the motive? Story two seems to be the Zodiac killer. Can't believe he's never been identified much less caught. Story one is a bit more complicated. If they were going to break up why return anything to her? If the sweatshirt belonged to Gregg why would it be in Rhonda's car? Why did Gregg's father go looking for Rhonda but not Gregg? Why didn't he tell the police that Rhonda was missing and he was looking for her? Did Gregg own any guns? Couldn't they have brought him in and tested his hands for GSR? If the breakup seemed amicable and it did (if they broke up that night) why would Gregg shoot her? That's also a pretty strong bullet to go through a trunk, two seats and through the heart of Rhonda. The eyewitnesses are also odd. One say's she's in the car, the other two say no one is but she's found outside by the front wheel on the drivers side, but they don't mention seeing her. Again if Gregg or someone else shot her why take her out of the car? Presumably she died quickly, so moving the body and possibly leaving evidence behind is a bit risky and just stupid. Also the time line seems too close. Someone had to shoot her, move the body and leave before three different eyewitnesses found her.
I apologize for this being off topic - but this is a safe place..... The holidays are really rough for a lot of people and this year they are gonna be a lot harder. I am speaking from experience and I’m an introvert. Since Thanksgiving I have already had a couple of bouts of not being able to get out of bed. I have had panic attacks that lasted for days where it felt like I couldn’t even blink and was shaking like I was going through withdrawals. I have spent more nights crying myself to sleep than not. I don’t have anyone, except a roommate (who I love dearly & is my best friend), my ‘family’ doesn’t even check up on me even though I am disabled/high risk/have suffered from de-habilitating depression for 27 years. This is a reminder to not only check up on your friends and family, but neighbors and acquaintances. You never know what is going on with someone or in someone’s head. The holidays are a time when self injury becomes more prevalent and since we can’t go visit family and friends, there is a good chance a lot of these won’t be found for a while (until people start looking for rent/power gets shutoff/water gets shutoff/animals go crazy/smells). Even with a roommate, I’m not sure how I make it through. I can honestly say I don’t want to and haven’t for a long time. I don’t want other’s feeling this way.
Zodiac was Bay Area though. Lovers lane killers aren't uncommon, thats what the Texarcana killer was. There was alot of wild stuff that happened in the bay back then, there is a book called 'The Last Circle' by Cherri Seymour that mentions alot of the lesser known things, killing and all, the book is about the Danny Casolaro killing and the conspiracy he was researching, it is a wild book, it's not fiction but the author fictionalized some stuff for her own protection, like that JFK stuff, that parts BS, she never told. There is a guy that a spook said was the Zodiac is mentioned in there, je worked with intelligence doing dirty ops and was killed in a park.

What could make him do that though horrible if he did
I can only imagine how many people got away with murder due to the blame being placed on the Zodiac Killer.🤦♀️
Has there ever been a case of someone *imitating* a serial killer to get away with it? Attempts to leave similar calling cards or M.O.?

thank you again for another excellent video.

@@1234597114 saying that db cooper was also zodiac killer is some tinfoil conspiracy shit

Man these are heartbreaking
In the first case, why do cops say it "always comes back to one suspect" (the husband)? It could be a hired hitman, but a thrill killer (completely unrelated to the couple) is an equally good explanation
I'd put my money on somebody who had a grudge against the cop husband.

It's a lot to *assume* it wasn't a stray bullet in the first case.
Jeez I’m sure that Bernita wasn’t killed by someone her husband hired 🙄
He obviously directed her to walk towards the zoo because there were 300 other people in the park.

Lol! That's the most emotion I've ever heard from you 😁. I loved it
Just followed the podcast, really excited to listen!
Is it weird i find these videos very relaxing and interesting. The Narrators voice is perfect for the subjects covered
Nevermind her walking being a tough shot, placing the round to enter the shoulder across her heart then to pass through the left side of her body.
Shooter was probably aiming for her head and they didn’t allow for bullet drop from a long shot and it struck her lower on the body.
@@1234597114 This video doesn't mention that Artis White was a MSP sniper. Also, there were no witnesses to Artis picking up his daughter. The daughter was left in the park alone by the time Artis arrived to pick her up.

Poor Rhonda.☹️
Good stuff 👌
In the 1980’s, I was going to NYC several times a year, and going by train. Then, a very short article appeared in the Baltimore Sun, just a few paragraphs. It stated that someone was firing shots from a hotel across the street from the train station in NYC. That was Pennsylvania Station Amtrak runs through that one. There’s another, Grand Station that has more local trains. I never saw of heard anything more about the shootings.
Video starts at 2:29
So the father of Rhonda's boyfriend had allegedly been inappropriate with her, went to look for her when she was missing even though she didn't like him and just happened to show up at the scene of her murder?!
6:45 it was either a Cop or Military.
And the book is so OJ ESQ.
1:04 to hear this guy have a bit of humor of even chuckle after being used to hearing his dull tone of voice for years is actually scary tbh
1:05 - Only Criminally Listed can make "I'm getting a little excited over here" sound so....... I don't know...... unexcited. lol

They never found the bullet, so I'm speculating. But it didn't lose power and likely wasn't tumbling, or it's likely it'd have been found somewhat close to the victim, so I'm guessing, based on the little information I got from the video, that it was a high caliber round.
But I'm just guessing based on those factors.
Grew up in Lansing. Loved Potter Park! Great memories.
This makes my weekend.
Morning 🌅 made significantly better now 😊Thanks CL

First time I’ve heard of those CA couples in ‘63 and ‘64. Immediately my mind goes “Zodiac”. Glad to see I’m not alone in my suspicions.
