Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, and Hua Hin have shopping centres and beach restaurants. Phuket and Koh Samui have a lot of nightlife, Krabi, a bit more of a laid-back nightlife, and Hua Hin has some nightlife.
It was pretty much shut down for covid, and most of the Krabi Province went backwards a bit. Still abandoned buildings around. But tourism is back in full swing, and businesses are doing well now.
Try going off season May- June, if you like the idea of laid back island. Koh Lanta has such a nice mix of culture- but mostly Muslim. Wonderful food- the best Khao Soi( northern dish) I have gotten was in Lanta. I am married to Thai - my daughter enjoyed it” different” then the rest of Thailand. I have future plans of using it as a “ health” retreat- great gyms, food, massages, down time. The ocean also more fun off season for my kids- bigger waves. One of the “ safer” islands to rent a moped- less traffic. Please wear a helmet-no it is not hot while riding- broken heads do not usually heal well- don’t be another Thailand go fund me account. Oh and lodging cheaper- great discounts to be found- some resorts actually closed. Honestly I don’t even remember the prayers- maybe air con fan? Great honest videos- refreshing. Maybe the honesty will keep the party folks away.
I did Koh Chang in off-season and had a great time. I always wear a helmet. I don't understand why it's so popular in Thailand, not too. If I was here permanently, I would just drive a car.
@ My comment was more for others. 27 years Thailand visiting- every year accidents. The other bad one- never dive unless 100% sure- especially off boats into ocean- depths very deceiving. Love Thailand- great videos.
The ferry is by land from Muang Krabi/Ao Nang. You can get a transfer that includes ferry and transfer to your resort in Koh Lanta. It's all in Krabi though. You might be able to get a speed boat from An Nang or Muang Krabi, but it's only 1 hour to get to the pier, and the ferry is just 25 minutes.
How does Koh Lanta compare to Koh Chang? I have been in Koh Lanta for 3 weeks and thinking about going to Koh Chang for 3 weeks as a DN. Is Chang more busy/has more things to do than Lanta? Thank you so much for your videos!
is there any nightlife in Koh Lanta to speak of? thinking of going there for our honeymoon in late February. We like the chill vibes but do want some nightlife however not looking for Phi Phi or Phucket levels of nightlife.
@ thanks for getting back to me! what would be the best area to stay in Koh Lanta if you wanted the occasional pub night? Are there any other thai islands you could recommend that balance island life, the ability to explore on a scooter and some good food and nightlife? Once again not super developed like phi phi, koi samui or phucket?
@@linxcharmin I stayed at the Lanta Fevrier Resort. There are some beach bars near there. I did a video on it here th-cam.com/video/oSc-iSNUUCw/w-d-xo.html
Klong Khong Beach is known for having a more active nightlife scene, generally every night one of the beach bars will get a DJ in and go well past midnight. You'll usually hear during the day which bar is going to be the one going. Also lots of great restaurants in that area. The beach itself is beautiful at high tide but not as swimmable at low tide, still a great sunset place, but there are nicer swimming beaches nearby. Should add though, the nightlife is not going to be anything like Phuket or Samui etc.
@@Curto86 when I was there it was on Thursday and Sundays and one other random day of the week. Even then there was only like a dozen people in the place most of them the DJ's friends.
I belive the opposite, I think for ppl using a motorbike , excepcially if it's your first time , it's the best place for learners are it's bot so busy . I dobt recall the roads being so bad , like any good driver be aware . I never had any issues
I don't think Thailand and learning to ride a motorcycle belong in the same sentence. Road tolls are pretty clear on this. Especially tourists drinking on holidays with pot holes are every corner.
@paradise-adventures I don't know I been to koh lanta 3 times and I have not had an issues . Like any good driver, ride with caution and be aware . However, I do see what ur saying with ppl drinking and driving.
I found the service different on koh lanta, other islands ur made to feel extremly welcome by locals and resturant staff i found in koh lanta there very rude and there english is very bad compared to most thai loactions. Not sure if thats just the muslim culture but 1st time experinced this treatment in thailand.
Yeah I hear you. It's all about perspective I guess. Thai people have no problem with how I say it. Most people appreciate the content. Thanks for watching.

Koh Lanta looks like a great holiday location for families. Very chill 😎
Koh Lanta is for sure.
The sunsets in Koh Lanta look amazing.
They are for sure.
The relaxing vibes of Koh Lanta seem worth it for holiday.
Absolutely, Koh Lanta has a very relaxing vibe.
Thinking of booking just 2 nights,as our base is in Phuket
Did you know that Thai sun sets no later than 18:50 all year round 😊
Believe it or not, but I've seen enough of them to know this is true first hand.
Beautiful beach does its name proud. Absolutely looks beautiful
Yeah, it's a pretty special beach.
I love sunset at Koh Lanta. It looks amazing.
They're amazing in Koh Lanta for sure.

Can you recommend a place in Thailand were there are beautiful beaches with beachrestaurants and some nightlife or shopping?
Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, and Hua Hin have shopping centres and beach restaurants. Phuket and Koh Samui have a lot of nightlife, Krabi, a bit more of a laid-back nightlife, and Hua Hin has some nightlife.
I was there in 2017. It was stunning. I hope they haven't taken a hammer to it.
It was pretty much shut down for covid, and most of the Krabi Province went backwards a bit. Still abandoned buildings around. But tourism is back in full swing, and businesses are doing well now.
@@paradise-adventures Good to hear. Hopefully return this year. Cheers!

@@travelingmike40 yeah. Unless you've tested the depth first you shouldn't be jumping in.
Koh lanta is my favorite place in thailand
Nice
From krabi is there a speed boat or ferry to koh lanta? Thanks 👍

Is there decent snorkeling and diving off the beach?
There's tours for snorkelling and diving available to nearby islands.
Im goin der n 3 weeks time from ao nang is it better to go by ferry or a grab
Speedboat or ferry are the options. Which one is better will depend on the weather. 2 meter wave warnings here recently will be rough on a speedboat.

Chang is more developed, it has more night life but the beaches are not quite as good, however Koh Mak and Koh Kood nearby have some amazing beaches.
is there any nightlife in Koh Lanta to speak of? thinking of going there for our honeymoon in late February. We like the chill vibes but do want some nightlife however not looking for Phi Phi or Phucket levels of nightlife.
There are some places but not many and not every night.

I didn't have that experience, what part of Koh Lanta did you stay?
Please stay away from KL. Its very peaceful and untounched by mass tourism. I would like it to stay that way😂
😂😂😂 I think it's too late already.
You started the video by mispronouncing Koh Lanta. It was all downhill from there. Silly nonsense .😮
