Thanks for the tips. I used most of them and obtained about 50% of jobs I applied for. I think it is also a numbers game. More interviews = More job offers.
@@DonGeorgevich- mastered no. I play good enough lead guitar to play in most good rock bands but I have not mastered the guitar. Not a master but I think I am good enough to land a good job and that’s what is so discouraging. I have done it before in far worse economic conditions (2008-2009).
Hy Don, First, thank you for the great content you always bring us. I really appreciate the effort and dedication. Can you recommend a specific template, model or "nice to look" regarding the resume? Also, how can we review our CV - can you recommend a service for this? Thank you
do you have a resume writing business that you suggest people contact? I've had mine professionally done and it doesn't check any of the boxes you are suggesting here.
Most people get job to Recruitment Agencies, and you have to have good connections with them. Yes, they are all contracts and projects, but they are usually good paid comparing to perm jobs. Heaps I know don't even want perm jobs as they will put you where I liv eon 6 months' probation and can dump you whenever they want. I barely met any person who liked any of their perm jobs how bad they were for them and either of them from 1 month to 3 months or got dumped from job. Heaps prefer to work at government departments and not at private companies as well.
80% of the people that get the job know someone in the company. They have no special ability as you said. I know someone who can't do basic math that makes half a million dollars a year because someone got him a job.
I don’t like leaving comments where my actual name is tied because it seems like cancel culture is so common and one could say something benign and be cancelled.

agreed
That is very informative thanks
Don I have done all of these things and so far none of this has worked. Its really difficult.
It's because this is base level information. While helpful, this is expected these days, none of this is stand out information
Doing it and mastering it are two different things. Have you mastered it?
in the end its still just all a numbers game and the chance can be extremely low depending on where you are. just keep being persistent about it.
The ONLY thing that matters is if they like you, all that stuff on your resume means nothing.

work harder not smarter if you apply to everything you will get something.
Isn't using back door unethical though? There's a flaw then in recruiting process, I suppose it's about playing the game.

yes, but tying your name to constructive comments related to your work could be very helpful to landing a job
