What has your experience been like with the Battlefront Classic Collection?

I never play online so pretty good but sometimes there’s a frozen wall that I have to go around
i still have the game but don't play it that much
i played all battlefronts and in my apoinion all of them are great
On the console version, there’s no music. Like, at all.
It's amazing that for a "minor graphical remaster" of some 20ish year old games we have to set the bar after multiple patches to the dizzying heights of "working".
It isn't even a remaster, just a release. It's worse in that regard because they somehow still screwed it up despite not making too many actual changes.
The AI heroes and fixing Ki-Adi Mundi's voice lines have been genuine improvements to the game, but I feel like the only way Aspyr could get the player base back is if they added the exclusive maps from Renegade Squadron since they're playable on the original version with mods.
you're playing Battlefront 2 on PS4/PS5 but why without CUSA? it adds FOV and Ultra Graphics to the game(and more PC settings). Sеаrch TNV CUSA
People will come back as the news comes out that the collection is fixed and Star was fans will always return

it's really funny how Aspyr managed to introduce bugs that were never in the original.
I have the Switch version and don't regret it too much, but I do prefer playing the original CD-ROM PC version.
Ai heroes were a thing in the first og game. They were invincible unless you used a vehicle to run over them with. But they’ll just respawn.
There was a map that has a bunch of catwalk type things. You could use a grenade to push the hero off the side of the catwalk and they'd get stuck in a closed off area at the bottom. 😂 I wasted so much time as a kid trying to do it.

AI heroes weren’t in the 2nd game unless you were on the Xbox version, but now in the classic collection they’re on every platform
Some of my greatest memories playing this as a kid was just shouting RUNNNNNNNN! When ever I saw a hero or villain 🤣🤣
I learned to early how invincible they were lmao
Still play the classic collection on console never played online as a kid nor now always play instant action or the campaigns
Is it worth it for single player? I'm the same way, I have no attachment to multiplayer and can have hours of fun in Instant action.

Growing up I never played online on PS2, I played Instant, Campaign, and Conquest.
All the people claiming that it’s trash and worthless are looking at it as if this release is a AAA remaster.
It’s not, it’s a rerelease of a 20 year old game.
The single is worth it, lots of fun there.
Enemy heroes were on psp and stuff back in the day, but not on ps2 like i had. They added them when this came out again ^^
Heroes were always playable in battlefront 2.
B.f 1 didn't have playable heroes yet the computer could and they were o.p 🤣

I could never get the enemy AI to spawn a hero in the PS2 version, but my friends Xbox version seemed to have AI heroes. Always frustrated me.
They weren't in the PS2 version lmao

AFAIK the ps2 didn't have enough cpu headroom to process the AI heroes, there's actually a few cases of late ps2 games just, having random features missing to improve performance (if I remember Just Cause 1 has a strange bug where planes will randomly crash due to missing pilot AI)
I’m hoping that Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith FINALLY gets a remaster next. HOPEFULLY THAT one’s next after the graphically changed Star Wars: Bounty Hunter comes out.

That game will likely come to PS4 / PS5 because Sony has been porting many Star Wars games. Aspyr won’t do it.

I would say the game is decent now but there's no in-game music now so until that's fixed it isn't up to par in my book

I’ve haven’t played it for a while, but on time, I was playing hero assault on Mustefar and the cantina music was playing! That’s as far from a match as it comes.
That was already an issue that they fixed it fixes it self after a match or 2 or you could just relaunch the game y’all should stop trashing on a game that was gold teir
Its still so stupid that they didnt combine 1 and 2 when releasing this version. They had an opportunity to combine the maps and campaigns someway cool, with updated graphics and controls...but no. We got....this... instead.
Battlefront II is literally just battlefront one with more features. Except the cockpit view is missing which pisses me off. Idk about you but I love cockpit view

i play on switch a few times a week and i can consistently find a lobby with 15-25 players each night. it’s great fun and i really hope a consistent player base can come about with further improvements to the online experience.
Where are you from? I'm from Europe and I'm lucky if a see a server with more than 2-3 people (Switch user too)

They actually did lower the size I play on Swicth and it used to be 33 and now it’s 23
The fact that it took 3 months to have it be it playable is beyond me stop thanking the devs that fixed the broken game it should’ve have been released like this in the first place are expectations for video games are so low
Classic collection its for playing co op on splitscreen (even though the fov is horrible on 2 players) but galactic conquest with 2 players is so much fun
I think the reason the game turned out like this is probably because they use the new online net code and when you redo the net code, you can’t just port over the game and call it a day you need to completely overhaul the experience, and make sure the engine works the same for both.
If you were playing like galactic conquest or instant action then the opposing team would have an AI Hero

If this game really is fixed, I might come back. As I bought this to play the classic game and get a nostalgia fix, so if they have fixed it, I’ll come back, my son can join in too so that’s my incentive to get back on it.

I never played multiplayer in these games, only VS bots, so for me online stability wouldn't matter. Even so, still not worth the money. The original one is still perfectly playable on PC as it is and it doesn't feel aged.

Aspyr should give a loyalty discount on Bounty Hunter to those of us who didn’t refund the Classic Collection. I held out hopes things could be fixed and mods could be added to deliver on the promises of this release. But nobody has wanted to come back after the patches. What’s the point of paying for multiplayer servers when 8 people are playing. Disappointing to say the least

What we need is all the space battle maps from galactic conquest available for instant action. Also, maybe add the space coruscant from the campaign for instant action as well. It is possible for them to make it work on a modern console. Also, add the feature to replay any campaign missions you have previously completed.
I'm still playing this game occasionally on the OGXbox. AI controlled heroes are in every map unless you turn them off.
The question is have they fixed the story campaign
Yes cutscenes are working as they should in the beginning and ending of the missions
The PC og version...Were you on Steam? I remember looking for mods years ago because that's the only reason I'd check it out now
On Xbox, the most amount of people online is Wednesday and Friday nights. Also between 6-12 eastern time is prime time every day. Especially once the west coast people are on
I would love a cross play update! That would bring player base up for sure, also maybe a free weekend. (I own it for ps5 and xbox) wanted to get it for my kids thinking there would be cross play but nah lol
Crossplay would save the online community.
Crossplay isn’t an option for this game bc of the time it was made plus having crossplay would probably make the game crash not every new game needs crossplay

Sony charges for crossplay and this game is basically a cash grab with how broken it is. So I doubt they actually spent that much on it other than ip
My trophies are still bugged, well, one trophy in particular. Unable to get platinum because my rank is stuck at 275 out of 300 (the Jedi general trophy)

One annoying things is that in the old bf2 in kashyyyk if you go to the top of the wall there’s little sniper towers you can go in but in this new one you can’t

Played it this weekend and really enjoyed my time with it, especially letting the AI teammates playing as heroes, a bit better hit registration (can't really tell the difference lol), and less lag. Just wished it wasn't dead asf on Xbox tho and hopefully maybe suggest people to try it again to see if they like more now or not cuz we really need the player count back up again. I'll, however, still continue to play and host online lobbies on Xbox.

I love the older simpler graphics so much more than the new congested graphics with aliasing everywhere.

AI heroes was exclusive to the Xbox release. The non modded PC and PS2 versions didn’t have it. Either way good to have it back, although it should have been in there from the start.

Always baffled me on PS2 and PC Galactic Conquest when the enemy would purchase and activate the leader bonus only to never actually use it in the battle.
Ai heroes were always a thing, even in Battlefront 2004. In 2005 the Ai hero could spawn on any team that didn't have a real player.
I'm curious what the player count is on the console versions.
Also, for anyone who potentially doesn't know if you just want the extra dlc content and don't care about the online, the Xbox back compat version has the extra characters and hero vs hero arenas if you happen to have an Xbox One or Series Systems.

Because one really nice thing about the og was that it was permanently unlocked once I got the 64 medals.
Come play the original BF1 steam release. People still play, though not much. I find it to be worth it.
how many people know, that when you walk up to an NPC that's on your team. you can press a direction on the controller (i forget which D-Pad button) and they will follow you around? (max 2) you can have a lil squad of dudes following you, one on either flank, and be like a squad leader. (i dunno how to do it on PC)
I hear somewhere that lag issue happends on ps4 platforms PC it's different. (You can use VPN anyway if you had a disadvantage)

I downloaded the game yesterday and I think its a lot of fun. But i was kinda disappointed when the Order 66 mode on Coruscant was gone ...

You had enemy AI heroes in instant action Mos Eisley Assault but not outside of that I don't think except named characters in certain 501st story missions
Ai hero’s were available in the Xbox version of og bf2. PlayStation didn’t have that feature for some reason
i honestly never had any issues appart from the ai just always feeling like it was on easy for the release patch. otherwise everything just shockingly worked for me

Original Battlefront 1 also had a far steeper learning curve than 2 due to balancing issues, way strong grenades and a lower time to kill
Battlefront 1 has a community patch that reverts the game to the (superior) 1.2. version of the game with community servers.

I only ever play SWBF offline, single-player or splitscreen. I've been playing the Classic Collection almost every day on Xbox, and I haven't seen any glitches or bugs.
I just want it to go on sale, I don't really care for the multiplayer I just wanna play the game again, but $40 for a game 19 years old is wild. I have console

They still need to add 4 player split screen. There is no excuse why it's not in the PS5 or Xbox Series S/X versions of the game when the original BF2 on the original Xbox had 4 player split screen.
No need to wait for any fixes when the finished games have been out for the past 20 years.
Not to mention that I got the Originals for 10 Euros each.

there is no reason that if you own a computer made in the last decade you should be trying to play the slop aspyr put out. excluding the fact that all the "improvements" they have made are easily integrated into the original release their track record alone of them just releasing stuff and not fixing it is enough to make me not want to get anything with their name attached, the kotor ports of switch are still borderline unplayable.

They released something that was broken and unfinished then are surprised when no one wants to play when they provide the bare minimum.
How are the console controls for this game on pc now? I bought the classic collection on steam hoping I could plug in my ps5 controller and experience the game as I remembered with a console controller and the good old ps2 main menu (the old pc main menu looks so bad), but I was really dissapointed that the controls was so bad. Moving the camera took forever from one angle to another. I tried to change the joystick sensitivity, but nothing worked. Refunded the game the day after, but if they have fixed it I might buy it again.
A lot of games on steam don't allow playstation controllers to be usable on their games. This might be a problem relating to that but steam has been working on controller support through their platform. Anyways, I'll try the pc version later tomorrow and get back to you on the sensitivity thing.

If this game was to receive a price cut and end up around 10 to $15, I honestly believe that if advertised well, It could dramatically increase the player count

Did it get easier to play, or did the difficulty get lower? I played one offline Mos Eisley as Empire, as only the Dark Trooper on BF1. 53 kills, 3 deaths. I mean, I played against AI/CPU, but my performances can be way worse.
Did they fix the major issues such as map tearing and the light being more advanced than the dark in HvV?
