    This is an absolutely correct point.
    FX6 or FX6 + FX3 (one or more) - for production.
    FX3 for shooting with one or two people. a7sIII is a great camera for multimedia designers and journalistic types of work where you are able to mix video and photo.

      Exactly, had it all day today at the fair press center: produce photos + reels, preferably quickly and should be out on the same day.
      btw, A7Siii has its viewfinder, perfect for photos.

      I’m in agreement. I shoot corporate video. My FX-6 is my A-Cam for my workflow for talking heads, interviews, training videos, etc. I use the FX-3 for all of my B-roll Gimbal shots and also as a B-Cam for a second camera angle when necessary.

    Dude that is the most beautiful intro I've ever seen on TH-cam. The music selection, lighting, focus ramp, everything is perfect! Great script, awesome delivery. Keep it up man!

    Hi! Really nice video! Also have Fx6 and I love this camera. Along with my a7sIII which I mostly use for gimbal work/ FX6 has a one huge benefit for me - I started to shoot more handheld and more creative stuff, rather than just overusing my gimbal with a7sIII and creating the same boring paralax shots ;-)

    • @maxsautner
      @maxsautner  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, true!
      I've been less and less on gimbal lately.
      I think a good variety between gimbal and handheld is important.
      Handheld has a very cinematic look!

    Love the FX6 it’s a compact power house.Yeah there is some minor short comings but not deter mental.The suggestion of an aftermarket top handle is great.I would add a after market viewfinder display as well,as it is mediocre.

      yeah, we can not have it all, its a great workhorse for most of my jobs, if jobs getting bigger, I will rent a different cam.

    it's funny that' you say the xlr is a disadvantage for the camera, but that's exactly why i'm going to get the fx6, it has native support for mhk 416, which is superior to the rode and the dji mics lol. am i a professional? am i doing it for commercial use? am i even a cinematographer? nope. i'm just buying it for the xlr to record my daily exercises. why? because the xlr and i'm using it for dedicated videos.

  • @MattSpaugh

    I still use smaller Sony mirrorless bodies for a large majority of my work and the single biggest issue for me is timecode. All of my shoots are multi-camera with separate audio. I'm holding out for the release (hopefully) of the A7SIV before making a decision on purchasing a cinema body - until then, I'll keep renting. IF the A7SIV camera comes out, and IF it has decent timecode in/out capability, that would solve a lot of problems for me. The lack of IBIS in the FX6 is also a bit of an issue for my work - no fun to film Pro Rodeo with no stabilization!

    • @maxsautner
      @maxsautner  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      hahah I JUST EDITED MULTICAM without timecode today 😫
      Its ok for smaller projects, but we hat 3 cameras, 2-3 LED screens... nightmare
      But you can use timecode on the A7Siii but through audio... not that great, but should work.

      @@maxsautner I just got a shipping notice on the Rode Wireless PRO I ordered. It'll be interesting to see what the actual timecode capabilities are of that unit.

      @@maxsautner I placed my order over a month ago and just got notice yesterday that it has shipped. I've used the Hollyland Lark 150 up until now. The 32-bit float recording capability of the Wireless PRO is what pushed me over the edge to buy it. I hope to make a review for my channel once it gets here.

    • @maxsautner
      @maxsautner  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, but you could go cheaper with the previous ride go, it also has 32 Bit recording but the new rode includes Timecode! This would be my personal reason to buy it!

      I'd say go with Blackmagic for sure ;) I have a Sony FX3, FX6 and a Blackmagic Pocket 6k Pro, and I prefer the look of the Blackmagic (It's like a baby ARRI). Both company brands make amazing image quality but my Pocket 6k Pro produce a more "organic" look (I know I know, everyone is talking about that but what does that mean?). The Blackmagic has better texture I would say (not scientific at all), you can see every details without being being artificially sharpened, and the skin tones looks more true to life. For my part I love my Sony's when I need to be as quick as possible : events, commercials/corporate/documentaries,... and I use the Pocket 6k when I want the best image quality (music videos, narrative work, commercials, short films,..).
      Edit: sorry I didn't realize you just bought the FX6 😅 Don't worry it's an amazing cameras that can do everything!

    • @maxsautner
      @maxsautner  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jsleger3404 Blackmagic is awesome! Love the products, but the body shape of this cam is unsatisfying 😄
      Imagine: BMPCC 6k + Sony AF & VND 🤤

    • @jsleger3404
      @jsleger3404 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@maxsautner I totally agree, the body shape is so weird, that's one of the reason I bought the Sony's 😅
      At first, my plan, was to switch from BM to Sony (because I have a lot of run'n'gun shoots), so I was planning to sell the Pocket 6K pro, but even if my wallet is not happy at all, I think I'm gonna keep it for personal projects and music videos.
      I tried a bunch of cameras (Canon R5, R5C, R6, C70, almost every Sony cameras, Blackmagic Pocket 6k Pro, GH5, EVA 1, ARRI Amira) and the Blackmagic is #2 in image quality, #1 is the Arri Amira (it's just something else 🥰). There is something in the image of the Blackmagic that I love, I can't really explain what, it's perhaps how it renders textures (like the Arri). The Sony's has also great image quality but I feel it's not really that good with fine details (skins, textures in general), I feel like a lot of the times it looks a bit "plasticy" (if you know what I mean).
      I know that we can add diffusion filters and use vintage lenses to decrease the "digital" look, but even with all of that, it will never be the same, because of the lack of details (not sharpness).
      Therefore I think the new Sony cameras are still the best for run n guns projects and also for the rest but it really shines when you need to be as quick as possible.

  • @areeltrip

    I know it's a pain, but to overcome the audio issue, couldn't you get the hotshoe extension cable? Maybe mount the handle to the gimbal?

    • @maxsautner
      @maxsautner  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      would be really cool, but unfortunately that's not a hot shoe...
      I'm actually considering buying a second FX6 handle and building my own little box and make it open source for other creator.
      I worked as an electronics technician before my full-time film job and have access to industrial machines...
      Let's see if it's worth the time, I´m pretty busy the next months.
