Ever since Afghanistan '11 I've been itching for some more asymmetric strategy games and this one looks amazing. It's obviously in a very early state, but it's so well presented I'm honestly blown away with what is has to offer. The drone cam showing an actual dynamic battlefield is amazing. Can't wait to see more from these devs!

Imagine how good this could be if they add light RTS elements, telling your troops what direction to approach from, making them hold back if you want to hit the enemy with some tactical ordnance to soften them up first
I could see some multiplayer potential, with a player as the Taliban. Setting up mines and convoy ambushes could be good fun

@@gluever54 Good point, could be. I know it as artillery from other places. Just pulled the video up and paused at that point and it looks like the type of ordnance rather than delivery method. Pig looks like a Paveway for example. Gun Metal looks like a strafing run and Crow a rocket barrage. Dunno about t'others.

Having served in Afghanistan, I want this game for two reasons:
1. Fulfilling the fantasy of actually winning in Afghanistan.
2. Droning a wedding.

I share your fantasy, and I can only DREAM of entering combat in Afghanistan. (Which I admit sounds stupid without the ridiculously fantastical and fanatical Space Marine mentality)
@@thetruegoldenknight I never fired my weapon during my deployment. Even after at least a hundred missions outside the wire, the local Taliban never engaged. The operations I took part in were within a few miles of a major airfield, so my guess is that they weren't willing to risk provoking our close air support and quick-reaction forces.
@@cracklingvoice Something about this reminds me of "Rebels vs Imperials", where we're playing the Imperials side. Meaning, smart Rebels won't take on the overwhelming firepower head-on. The best way to catch that is to make them think there's a safe place, then close the net. Whether that "net" be drone bombs, Super Soldiers, or old-fashioned paratroopers, all depends on what specific resources are available at the time.

The details you talk about around 6:00 remind me of the original rome total war game, where they sculpted the entire world map out as battle maps an generate them whenever you fight somewhere, accurately resembling the terrain and conditions you'd see on the world map reflected into your battle map. They even included buildings, watchtowers and forts the player constructed, so it was made a dynamic map instead of a static one. I was amazed at the time at how amazing this feature was, and I like how it is picked up again in games that feature both strategy and tactics, as it's a great combination tool for just these applications.
I love TH-cam.
They don't notify me about Rimmy's upload but they do put it in my recommended.

I saw this game on steam before there were any ratings or anything like that a while ago. I put it on my wishlist but forgot about it and eventually it was removed. It’s cool to see a TH-camr make a video on the game that I found before it was released.

Great video, glad you got a preview. Just a heads up, MRAP and light infantry is correct usage. There are different variant "MRAPs" but it is a good catch all. Humvees were rarely used by this point in the war except inside big FOBs.
