Here's something essential for anyone doing this... depending on how you have the car supported on Jack stands, or whatever, place 200lbs of weight into the trunk before dropping the rear subframe to prevent the car from tipping over the supporting platform (if it applies to how you have the car supported)
It’s great to have people like you appreciate and love Bimmers! A lot of people just drive them till they fall on their face and then they complain saying BMWs are trash…..🤦♂️ Sadly but the same story happens with Mercedes too
Hey man i have a Questionen how did u separate the Driveshaft From the Differential i am curently rebuilding a 335i myself and i cant get the Driveshaft of the Differential do i need Special Tools oder ist there a Trick pls let me know🤙
After some suspension work I’ve had my E91 4 wheel aligned. I need to do some work dropping the rear subframe (but nothing changing on the subframe), will I need to get it aligned again once put back on? I’m guessing yes. Thanks
The whole drivetrain swap, probably not. But to pull down the subframe and service a differential bushing, that's do-able in a weekend with the right tools!
I have a full video review, but I'm very happy. These are the 5000SLX models, and work great for my cars. Saves me time and gets the car very high in the air for working underneath.
I'm with you - keep the sleeper look on the rear. Nice work.
How come you dont show what you did with the diff

Well every car is trash if you treat it like trash
Maintenance is key for every car
Excellent video you make everybody feel that dropping the sub frame is really not that hard!!
you made it look so easy. hardest job was removing the parking brake cable, lol
Your dog is so chill.
Nice update Chris. And please keep the sleeper look as much as possible. Have a great week! Dutch regards, Nico.
How did you removal the driveshaft

Thanks for this video mate , helped me drop the rear subframe on my e82 135i , legend
Thank you for watching and leaving a nice comment 🙏
Is it really necessary to disassemble the center console to disconnect the parking brake cables? That part looks like a major PITA.
What about the subframe will one from a 328xi fit a 335xi

Yes
do you mind sharing the link for your impact gun or the info on it plz?
If I’m just getting into the bmw world but am motor inclined would this be something I could handle I just bought a rear subframe and need to swap it
Is this doable for a relatively novice DIYer?

So how did you run your dmtl system
Kept all the factory 325ix dmtl system, just easier and I get to keep the extra storage space under the trunk!
Love the videos!!
Thank you Shamar! ❤
@@TheBimmerBarn no prob, Is there any way I can contact you via email?
@@shamarj834 yes! My email is on my website, under the "Contact" page
How easy was it to work with the QuickJack and which model were you using?

I spent an hour looking for how disconnect this specific 335i drive shaft from a diff. But nobody want to show the secret 😆
Grab the big nut, and swing your wrench from the driver side to the passenger side, that's how you loosen it! Hope that helps.
E81 too lol
