Another year, another camera comparison! Both the Galaxy S22 and s10e in this test are on Android 12 One UI 4.1 and both are running Snapdragon CPUs Also, all voice recordings in this video are done on the Galaxy s22 with no audio editing (:
I am using the S10e still. Great device. Hold up well. With headphone jack, expandable storage, programmable bixby button, and side finger scan to scroll down notification bar. This is just a perfect all around device. Thought to upgrade but decided to stick with my S10e since S22 doesn't have SD card slot.
I agree with this comment whole heartedly. I did upgrade from the S10e to the S21 (I wanted the Zoom lens and the slightly better functions - stabilization etc - for video recording, but otherwise actually HATED that phone compared to the S10e) and I have now since upgraded to the base S22. It's a nice phone, but I miss all the things you mentioned - the side fingerprint scanner, the headphone jack, ability to add expandable storage, and lastly I know not everyone uses this, but I used the MST feature for Samsung Pay - a lot - at gas stations and such that don't have Tap to Pay services yet. It's a huge loss that Samsung took this away from their current devices. If they had kept an "S10e" sized phone, but ugraded the camera and internals to match today's spec, pfffft... Would be a dream phone for me.
Isn't it interesting! The S10 phones aren't far off form the S22 phones. Honestly, if it was a blind test, it would probably be a split between the two phones
from Scottish grandad fashionista rituals from North West England 🇬🇧. hoots man i always used both Samsung galaxy S10 5G a pair which are marvellous perfection performed extremely very well no problems not getting rid of S10 5Gs . know i upgrading my old iPhone xr to a dreadful brand new out of box Apple 🍎 iPhone 12 pro Max GOLD 256GB it would only last 3hrs 47 minutes on a full charge then had to recharge it again terrible the operation Apple software 15 possible had bungs because my service data provider did not have 5G connectivity in my area known 5G service is available almost anywhere ? so my Apple 12 pro Max was on 4G only i couldn't wait to get rid of the iPhone pro Max 12 & despite watt you've been told the iPhone 12 had a massive depreciation over £600 no jocking true the bad news got out about its dreadful battery use.
This Video showed me my s10e is sill pretty capable in the camera department compared to the newest Generation. But i still miss a proper zoom lense in my s10e I think i will use it for another year since i dont want to give up my sd card slot and the headphone jack for a minor camera improfement
Keeping the s10e for another year is a great choice, it's a fantastic phone! It's true though, a dedicated zoom lense is crazy useful once you have it.
I don't know how long I've waited for this video - it's great information on the photographic side of things! I would only ask if you'd make a video camera orientated comparison so that we can compare video technology. I bought the S10E for 4K 60fps capability to use with my gimbal at events, etcetera. I would like to know whether the S22 has a 4K 60fps 21:9 (pro) mode.
I just checked and yes my s22 does have "Pro Video". At 21:9 it can do 4k 60fps and 8k 24fps but let's be honest 8k is not very useful. I've noticed the s22 is a big step up this year in video recording with better dynamic range and overall cleaner processing. The video stabilization it also greatly improved. Currently being at University my time is limited to make videos but when I can I'm happy to help.
@@jvproductions6802 that's absolutely fine, and totally understandable. Do what suites you :) Hopefully I'll be getting into a media related apprenticeship with Amazon - that's when I'll probably upgrade to the S22.
I switched from S10 to S22+ And WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!! the only reason for me considering the switch was to get an upgraded camera, s22+ is a joke, the photos are grainy compared to the s10, on some it feels like you took them with a single use 5 dollar fuji camera from Walmart. If you have an s10 DO NOT SWITCH!!! There is NOTHING that the s10 cannot do equally (or in the case of the camera better) good as the pseudo-upgrade od s22+
hi thanks for you honest insight. I am consider buying an s22 over the s10e because i want to vlog and make youtube videos on it. Do you think the s10e will do a similar job to video making? please would appreciate your honest response. cheers man
@akrextra hey, you can find a couple of videos comparing s10(e) to S22 overall comparison and the cameras, I "upgraded" to get a better camera for a big ski trip and I could not be more disappointed, I regret that decision with every photo I take. If you consider the switch for the camera only, then do not switch, s10e camera will do just fine. Cheers!
One thing that I will always stress, the camera on the S22/S22+ IS WORSE than the cameras on the S10 line! I still cannot comprehend how that's possible
i wonder where i can buy a brand new s10e in 2022? every store i went says it's not available anymore. im quite anxious to buy it online bc of scammers and all that
I regret upgrading from s10e to s22, the 50pm captor is only for 3:4 and has a weird wide angle. Also I find the picture blurry on the borders of the pictures its not Nice at all and the AI is better on the s10e weirdly... i am gonna try to give back my s22 its not worth the money
I see where your coming from. There are things I find my S10e still doing better, although I must say the update to Android 13 on my S22 has massively improved performance and battery life.
@@jvproductions6802 I hear you and I wouldve probably kept it for those reasons but I bought it for the pictures and it was such a disappointement I even bought a camera app to see if there was something to be changed but it didnt change the things that bothered me most :(
The selfie camera on the S10e and s22 are identical in specs and photo quality. Both are reasonably sharp at 10mp and both tend to blow out bright backgrounds. Both are great for the average needs of any person.
I take a lot of wide angle S10e photos of nature. I like the vibrant colors. Now i have a S23 and... stil better like the S10e. How to get those colors on S23 ;)
You're completely right. My s10e is now 4 years old and I cannot find this "punchy look" of photos and video also in new Samsung phones. I think is could be due to a mechanical aperture in s10e, brighter lens, maybe the lens quality by itself is better, when on new phones it is too much AI over-processed so these photos and videos doesn't have this "spirit". It's hard to replace this s10e. I'm thinking about getting Pixel 8 due to the camera quality and the overall idea of the phone - that's something different than Samsung (now is) and IPhone. Or I will just replace the battery at my s10e and forget about all this new flashy phones :)))
Yes, don't go with the new Samsung's and other phones before you will try them on your own. Don't believe all these reviews on YT. It's not worth to spend the money and get even worst photos and videos :-) I have s10e for 4 years and was closed to be fooled and get new Samsung or iPhone. I will make different choice, and keep my s10e and try Pixel 8.
In my experience the battery life is slightly better on the s22. My s10e would end days at 5-10% with 5h screen on time. My s22 ends days around 20-30% with 5h screen on time.

I own S10e and S22+, in my opinion the S10e is a peerless phone.
@@chinmima3378 Why do u say that? I also own the s10e and love it (despite some little problems). But am considering upgrading to the S22.

I think S10e is only phone that can do that with finger print.
Same using S10e, but sadly my battery is slowly doing, and hade to repair usb port :/
S10e user here. A very compact phone.
Me too using s10e
It is incredible how the S10 still holds up today against more recent phones !
Amazing isnt it?:).
I am iPhone user so truly no bias, but I actually preferred the S10E for many different shots.
