I always tell my students that they should film their training sessions. When we do this, it helps us identify mistakes that we didn't notice during the training. While reviewing this video, I noticed there were multiple occasions when my puppy wasn't sitting all the way down before I rewarded him. With this knowledge, I'll be able to fix this issue. Remember, champions study game footage!
Wow, Nate!!! This is one of my favorite videos yet. Guess who is going to be using this regimen as a warm up in Rusty's sessions. Great tune up for older dogs as well as essential introduction to movements for young pups. For anyone new to training watching this tape, do NOT feel intimidated by the speed of the movements. What I do is, I will watch the video several times, write down the sequence of the program, practice that either without the dog initially and/or then go through it in slow motion (relative to handler and dog). THEN I will pick up speed. There is so much valuable information in this short video suitable not just for the beginning training of a pup but any dog you have who you want to develop better response, increase their motivation, and/or increase the strength of your bond. Rusty enjoys his current flow sessions but this video reminded me of the many exercises you have taught I have let slip through the cracks. Bringing them back in will increase accuracy, speed and motivation. Thanks, again, Nate!
Thanks, Sylvia! It's always a pleasure to receive such detailed feedback from you, and your advice for new trainers is spot on. You’re right about the speed of the movements; they can seem intimidating at first. But, as you've beautifully demonstrated, taking it step by step and gradually increasing the speed allows us to fully tap into the potential of the dog we’re training. Your method of watching the video multiple times, jotting down the sequence, and then practicing at a pace that's comfortable for both handler and dog before picking up speed is invaluable. Thank you again and I'm looking forward to our training session tomorrow. :)
Nate the dog thesaurus is back!!! 👍👍 This fella has helped change my training game Ten fold. All my dogs are now off leash and getting the exercise they need. This channel and Miracle K9 are the only ones you need to fully train your dog yourself. Watch nates 'everything you need to know' video a few times and Crack on!
Good day young man. You make it look easy but your skills and knowledge is second to none. I love seeing the progress of a green pup. The evolution from first day of training to now is amazing. Please keep showing this pup love your videos. Informative, inspirational and gives us confidence with your step-by-step methodology.
I just got me a very young nine week old German Shepherd, and I am looking to train her up like a champion so these videos are insanely helpful. Thank you so much.
Love your vids. Training thiswith my first pup, best dog training videos on the internet for sure. Really helped me with training as i didnt even know where to start 😅
I’ve subscribed and will be using your system for our new gsd pup coming before Thanksgiving. Watching these vids multiple times to get it down!! Thank you! Question: are you luring with the dog’s regular food or treat? If the former, any quick recommendations? Raw, home cooked, kibble? Thanks again, Nate!
Ah! Tape on the fingers! 🙂 I'm finding out the hard way that Malinois are known as Land Sharks and Malligators for good reason! Thank you so much for all your wonderful uploads - just fantastic!
My 10 year old passed away. We are getting a puppy in November. It’s been awhile since I trained. After the puppy has got these movements down, when do you start giving the command for each movement?
Where to start with a 4 month old German shepherd mix? Can you do multiple things such as part 1 and leash pulling? She just wants to go on a leash where she chokes herself
I would like to understand since we let them work for every bite and we should keep short training sessions does that mean that we don’t feed/train on specific times throughout the day? The vet says feed three times a day but after a five minutes of training i still have kibble in my pouch and my dog already has lost interest. Should I give her the remaining in her bowl??
Going back to the first lesson, what about a dog that is not food or toy driven? I tried to start our now eight-year-old GSD when he was 10 weeks old and I tried every treat and any other food item i could think of, and to this day this dog still does not want treats or even dog food. He eats just enough to survive. About the only thing he got excited about was swimming, which doesn’t work well for training lol.
Hey Nate, how do I break my dog getting locked into an object? I was walking with her and in the middle of the walk, she locked into a balloon rolling on the floor and the object became more than I did.
Glad to know why you tape your fingers. I try to do the same with my dog but his teeth hurt my fingers. The problem is I drop the treats trying to avoid his teeth..

Exactly
Can’t believe that we are able to learn this for free. You’re such a good human being. Thank you so much.

Awesome! Let me know if there is something specific you’d like to see. If so, post it as a new comment, so it goes to the top of my feed. 😁
I am getting my service dog in training in November and your videos are invaluable. Thank you
Ya know your voice is like a mild version of Steve-O’s! Had me wondering the whole time who I was thinking of 😂 great content too!!
This comment!! You are spot on. I was also wondering who he sounded like and couldn't put my finger on it. You nailed it! Steve-O for sure haha
Haha! Yeah, that's been mentioned multiple times on this channel. A few people also said I sound a lot like the comedian Bryan Callen.
If you do EXACTLY what Nate explains to you I guarantee it works.
Thank you for your support and trust!
Thank you!! And loving the finger bandages 😂❤❤

Haha! Yeah, athletic tape is a huge finger saver. Let me know how it goes. 🐶
Hi Nate ! What food do you use for training ? My pup is not interested in her biscuits enough to engage in training. Thank you!
ty!
My pleasure. Thank you for watching and commenting! :)
Dude this is an amazing video. Thank you

Good to know I am not the only one who is taping his hands even pros have to do it
How old is marverick in this video?

When do you start using a verbal command? ( sit, coms, down, stay) and why don't you use them right at the beginning of training? thx
Thanks great video:)
Got into lesson 4 then my pup stopped going into center heal, almost scared to be in the position, and tips to fix this?
Hey Nate! What freeze dried food are you using for the training?
@NateSchoemer At what age is it ok to start this level of training at? (Belgian Tervuren if that makes a difference)
I start as soon as the puppy is comfortable in their new environment. I started Maverick (dog in this video) at 8.5 weeks of age. 😄
@@NateSchoemer Thank you for responding. Subscribed.😀

How long should I be doing 1 lesson until I add a new lesson
Excellent tips as always. Only question I have is how much treat can I give my pup? Seems like your lure is pretty big
Wondering the same thing
Excelenre. Gracias
Thank you! Cheers!
I feel like before I trained my dog I need to train first myself 😂
Can u post link to preceding video? I am not seeing it in video list.
A nice video!

That pup has amazing drive. Is that your dog?
Thanks! Yes, he’s my dog. 😁
