Yes, I had one year they lived through a freak late freeze in early June. It was the year before last and it was the doubles I had grown from seed. Sadly Wave no longer has the double available in seed.
Thank for this video. We planted 1 seed each in a separate 72 count plug trays. 36 seeds and have 35 very tiny plants. Germinated with domed trays, on a heat mat in just 4 days. Took the dome off and unplugged the heat mat, in a room that stays about 52-56 degrees, and everything stalled. I suspect either to vast a change in temperature, or lack of nutrients, as we used a DIY starter mixture. Our REV has arrived but with no nutrients to take up, it won't help. So, it seems my options are, fertilize or pot up. What's curious is, our peppers, tomato's, and onions all stalled also. For now, we're watering from the bottom and light mist on top, with a mild seaweed emulsion mixture. To see if that helps. If so, we will give them a REV root drench at time of potting up. Either way, if we only get 8 to make it, it will cover the cost of the seeds compared to buying 8 plants, and we have 100+ seeds still to plant. We found seeds from True Leaf 50 pelleted seeds per packet for $12.29. Good luck with the rain you are supposed to get and thanks again.
The room temperature so low will stall growth. And not having nutrients to take up does not stop the REV from working. It stimulates root growth no matter. Keep the room warmer. My grow room stays above 72 during the day and above 65 at night.
I collected a lot of seeds from a petunia plant I got from the grocery store that the bumblebees loved. Do you know if they'll grow like the parent plant or look different?
That is hard for me to answer. I don't know how far away other petunias were from your plant but always expect some variation from the parent plant with open pollination.
I was thinking about you when the news got to us about the California snow event. Insane weather! How much is still on the ground in your garden? Another tip I got about coated seeds is to spritz them for the first 2 days. The friction breaks down that coating quicker especially on the seeds that are pellets.
Cool, but the lid I put on the container keeps so much moisture in it I am afraid if I add more that it will promote mildew. And we still have 6 feet on the ground, as it falls it compresses what is underneath. We had a couple days of sun that started melting it then we got hit with 2 more feet. It is snowing as we speak but it isn't supposed to accumulate much. Then starting Thursday we will get rain for 8 days straight.
I noticed petunias being a bit cold tolerant. That was a happy surprise. I had a wave petunia survive 11F in and unheated green house.

Thank you For another great video. I don't know how I missed this one.
Hope you enjoyed it! I am a mad woman lately starting seeds and filling up my light rack. It is an exciting time of year.
Love your channel and love your greenhouse.
Thanks so much!

@@FlowerPatchFarmhouse It's so crazy that California is seeing more snow than most places in Canada. Stay safe Pam.
Update please 🙏 🌸
Will do, they are growing pretty good and I will pot them up soon.
