Weird!!! I was looking at a journal on Etsy and admiring the buttons on it and up popped your vid on how to put buttons on your journals!! That little gremlin inside my iPad has been watching me again, loved how you showed us. TFS. 😻x
I never thought about adding buttons. I have quite a collection. My grandmothers, my mothers and other vintage buttons. I will try that.............thx
Love this! Great idea to use buttons within the pamphlet stitch! I've always just glued them on. Never occurred to me to stitch them in! Thanks so much for sharing!
It's always fun watching someone else do what you're doing. It's like a confirmation! I would like to see how you do your chipboard spines, if you're up for a tutorial on that. Thanks so much.
Omgoodness you had me laughing, sewing in your signatures, that's how I am back and forth up and down, I'm tired after I sew them in. I will try the buttons. Thanks, Hugs Laurie
Looks fun, Gayle! I want to do this. Thanks for the tutorial. You did a great job on it. (I look forward to getting my journal with the buttons on it!!!!) Hugs
Thanks, Wendy! Wish I were a bit more fluid and not so awkward, but it is what it is!! 😂. In the end, the job gets done! Thanks for watching, my friend! ❤️
Thank you for showing how to put fabric on the spine, and how to put on the button's. Love you'r tutorial's. I would love to see how you separate the page's of the story book with the coffee died paper's. New to this and would like to try and do one. Thanks for sharing.
What a great idea. I used buttons to decorate a few pages. This will look like i planned it hehehe. Thanks again. Also wanted to ask if you ever do the midori style binding. I think that’s how it is spelled. I seen a tutorial and thought it would be nice so that you could add more later. Not sure because i have not tried it. Thanks again. I’m really enjoying all your ideas and helps
Hi Donna! I'm not sure what you mean by the midori style binding. Like a travelers notebook with the elastic maybe? If that's the case, nope, I've never done it. It would be fun to make one of those. But geezy peezy, I have more ideas than time as it is! 😂😂😂. Thanks so much for watching, sweetie! ❤️
Thanks Susan! I put my Etsy in the description of all my videos flipping through journals I have for sale. But I don't in tutorials cuz they are just my gift to my subbies! Does that make sense? Some tutorials may have links to other people's Etsy shops if I use their products. Thanks for your interest! I really do appreciate it! Here's my shop: www.etsy.com/shop/CinnamonT. ❤️
Thanks...I’ll definitely be trying this! I’ve always loved buttons. Where is a good place to buy the binding thread? I typically use embroidery floss but I am guessing this would be stronger.
Gail’s Bookish Things I got the book binding thread on Amazon in a kit with the awl and needle. I haven't yet had to replace it, so I don't know if they sell it separately. But I'll bet you'll find it there. Amazon has everything, right? 😉❤️
Hi Emilee! My Etsy shop is CinnamonT. The link is www.etsy.com/shop/CinnamonT. I will have these little books listed soon. I have one more to bind then I'll do a flip thru video of all and they'll be in my shop. I'm shooting for Sunday...fingers crossed. Thanks for watching! ❤️
I sooo love watching and listening to you Gayle❤️❤️❤️ I learn s much thanks.

Very nice!
I'd like to see the signature assembly for these journals.
Mary Kay Lyons-McDonnell I do have a video on my channel of the signature assemblage. 😁❤️
Gayle ... If you put your book inside an old phone book to punch the holes, it always goes through the center of the spine!
Shaw Craft 1 thanks for the tip! ❤️
Thanks for the tutorial! It would be great if you list your etsy shop in the description. Thanks!

Great help! TFS!
Awesome 😊
easy to follow, off to give it a try :)
love it x
Great tut Gayle, I'd like to know how you put the spine on the book!! Pretty please?
Hi Linda! You're the second one to request the spine tutorial. I'm on it! Stay tuned!! ❤️
Would one of those curved upholstery needles work through all that thickness? Just wondered.
I think so! ❤️
Thanks...I’ll definitely be trying this! I’ve always loved buttons. Where is a good place to buy the binding thread? I typically use embroidery floss but I am guessing this would be stronger.

Gayle Agostinelli That’s true...everything is available on Amazon. 😆 (I need to work at NOT buying things). I will look for the thread there.
Hi Gayle. Would glueing the button after sewing be overkill?
You sure could. 👍. Although I had no trouble with them staying put after stringing them on the thread. ❤
TFS 😊
Love this Gayle!!! xo Michele
Gale I know you used fabric for spine but is the fabric on top of cardboard or is it just fabric? They are really cute
Thanks, Nancy! The spine is a 2" x 8" piece of chipboard. I've had a request to do a tutorial on making the spine, so I'll do that soon. TFW! ❤️
TFS 👍🏼💕
