    The review puts a detailed light on the latest hatchback from Hyundai, the Elite i20. Lets see what this great looking car has to offer.
    To start with, a huge drift can be observed in customer preferences over the last couple of years and the major among those is the inclination towards buying a petrol rather than a diesel. The reason for this is the the decreasing gap between the prices of petrol and diesel fuels. And the Elite i20 we are testing gets a 1.2 litre VTVT petrol motor.
    Design
    The latest generation of Elite i20 gets proper credentials of a proper looker. It gets the signature Hyundai grill, sharp upswept headlamps, a lower airdam-strip on the bumper and sporty foglamps on the front. The sides will compel you to turn your head twice, because first the 16 inch diamond cut alloy wheels are just awesome, second the shoulder lines make the sides look very dynamic and thirdly the blacked out C-pillar gives a floating feel to the end of the roof. The rear again, gets wide everything from taillamps to the rear windscreen and even the rear bumper.
    On the inside, the black and beige color scheme coupled with well sorted and proportionate dash, paneling, seats make a real difference. The central console gets the music system with bluetooth streaming and phone function. Lot of cubby holes and storage spaces are on the door and on other places. Besides, the way cabin lits up in night will certainly sooth your senses with its ice blue back light on various buttons and gadgetry. At the rear, there is generous amount of legroom and headroom, seats offer good under thigh support, lumbar support and the absence of central tunnel keeps the middle passenger comfortable as well. Other convenience features include four power windows, glovebox chiller, USB and AUX-in, charging port and a segment first rear A/C vent.
    Drive
    Elite i20 gets two different engine options, a 1.2 litre VTVT petrol and a 1.4 litre CRDI diesel. The petrol one, which we are driving, generates a power of 83PS and a torque of 115NM. The motor is very smooth and compared to the outgone car it is a leap ahead for this car. The steering has a good response and lets you have a better feel of what is going on at the wheels. Because of this, i20’s handling is very nimble that lets you cut corners easily. Moreover, the improved suspension setup contributes to better handling and keeps you well in control. The petrol gives an ARAI specified fuel economy of 18.2 kmpl.
    Safety
    Elite i20’s top Asta variants get dual airbags, ABS-EBD, 3 point ELR seats belts for four passengers, a rigid body shell and reverse parking camera.
    Verdict
    Elite i20 is a good car with probably the best looking one in this segment and it is worth spending that extra money on.

    Yes its really an awesome car in petrol variant driving from the last 2 years, mostly the engine sound can't even hear from the cabin , in one word its just truly awesome hatchback !!! Just love it 😍😍😍

    Very well explained...got what i was searching for.. I liked the way cardekho has thoroughly explained n focused on petrol only car in this video! as during earlier times other reviewers use to give emphasis on diesel car the most n petrol varient use to be unsatisfactorily described..

    I own this car in a Petrol Sports (o) trim, and I must say that it has been a great experience so far. The low speed rides are fantastic, and no outside noise whatsoever in the cabin. In fact, it is so quiet, that you might have to check the RPM needle whether the engine is running or not! The only nick-pick would be the pickup on hill ascents/parking ramps, where the car seems to gasp for breath, so it would require you to put it on the first gear more often, to avoid a possible stalling. A good review by Kanika. Although, would have loved a road-tested kmpl figure, than a ARAI one. Those figures are generally in ideal drive conditions. This car is currently returning me a 14kmpl in city with the A/C on, and a handsome 16 kmpl on the highway with A/C.I especially love the way this video is shot! Kudos to the team!

      +vishwa mohan if you want a drivers car then go with the polo undoubtedly. if you want a family car with all comforts for your family and cant go with all those high maintannce of vw then go with elite i20

    People who have purchased this car are getting average of not more than 12kmpl. Body feels like plastic and hard to press. Good features but this is certainly not value for money. Prospective buyers do look at Jazz which is launching in July. Although its neck to neck competition, for some JAZZ may make more sense

    Maine abhi 25 june 2017 ko i20 asta(o) petrol version liya h..
    Sir mujhe 2-3 bar ek problem face hue h jisse m kafi tence ho gaya hu.. 5-10 km ke speed me achank break ne kam karna band kar diya... Jabki ignitions on the gadi ke yani ingine start tha... Maine hand break bhi lagaya phr bhi gadi nhi ruki..
    Or aaj gadi park karte time bhi same issue hua sir.. break nhi lage spped 5 km ki the.. handbreak bhi lagaya pr work nhi kiya..or car diwar se takrane ke bad hi ruki..
    Sir m kaafi tence ho gaya hu plz guide me...

      Jai Jag bro jab aap low speed par bar bar brake peddle press karte ho to vacuum creat hone ki wajha se aisa hota hai..maine jab apni nayi i20 mein bhi starting mein yahi problem face ki thi. Jab aapki speed low ho to clutch ke sath break apply krein isse aisa nahi hoga..aur progressive way mein brake lagayein ..

    So conveniently you guys have avoided this car's weakest link, that is, it's 1.2L petrol engine which feels so lethargic, puny and incompetent.. Grand i10 feels way better and offers perfect VFM proposition, well, at least for petrol unit.. Elite i20 diesel is way better than any other offerings in the current market.. Wish this car (petrol) had more punch..
    Btw, I have driven both cars extensively..

      NITIN MEHTA the Diesel engine is a 1.4 turbo diesel.... while this is a 1.2l naturally aspirated engine.... Also that's the max u expect from a 1.2l car that's this heavy... also it's a lot Better than baleno....

      NITIN MEHTA vw Polo gt tdi 1.5 is the best in it's segment when it comes drivability around city traffic polo's turbo pulls from 1100 rpm elite' s turbo pulls up from 2000 rpm and polo' s mid range punch is much much stronger than elite i20 and high speed stability and dynamics i20 is no match to the polo' s rock solid stability

      +Muneer Ahmed Hyundai Elite i20 has the claimed mileage figures of 18.6kmpl. Moreover, the mileage of any vehicle would depend on your driving style, timely service management, tire pressure management, etc. Furthermore, we tested the petrol automatic and it returned 12.15kmpl in the city and nearly 16kmpl on the highway.

    Great review, would like to know fuel economy for elite i20 petrol variant little confused between Baleno and i20. In papers, i20 numbers are good in fuel economy but as per normal customer review, it's just 10 to 11 in city traffic highway 14-15. In that Baleno makes better choice. Could you please suggest would be much appreciated thanks in advance guys ...

      Baleno should be a better choice here, Baleno is lighter and you can expect good mileage out of it as compared to its rival i20
