VDJ does this, and with their CDJ export feature you can export processed stem files for use on CDJs. VDJ literally enhances your DJ options on gear by companies that develop competing products! (Rekordbox) just goes to show how far ahead VDJ is of all of the competition in terms of innovation.
All the same company bruv. Neural Mix is well known to be a VDJ product. They just created a separate software for extraction so you can use the stems on other softwares like Serato.
I got to say that I prefer Virtual DJs way of doing this Direct access within the software, more stems (5), more options to control it, and direct export for use on CDJs
I like this idea but the technology isn't 100% yet. It sounds like a poorly recorded .mp3. You can hear the audio anomalies in the stems. Again, I think it's a good start and a good option to play around with creating various mixes. Thanks for the video!!!
yeah def not 100% yet, but we're making leaps and bounds in the right direction, a year ago i took 1000 tracks to RX 7 and and maybe another 100 or so to some of the browser based AI isolators, and the results were decent. In the last month or few more people have been making attempts on tracks i tried out back then and the improvements blew my mind. But yeah you have it right, while there are artefacts all through the audio (much like what you hear in low bitrate mp3), 80% clarity on an isolated track can be enough to at least get a concept of a mix down. And honestly i've heard some decent mixes from the stuff i put out a year ago, i put those 1000 tracks on reddit, had a couple of cool Korn remixes get thrown back my way as a result.
Yeah.. Free version has it. Although you can't export stems, but you can always record them to save a file on pc. Been using it for months and it's absolutely fantastic
My problem with the software is the churning sound. The transition areas tend to give a squishy churning sound instead of clean sharp cuts. In VDJ, I feel it affects all tracks playing even without stems after activating it for one track played earlier.
you should make sure to turn your stems EQs back to 12 o clock, because as soon as you turn them just a bit, VDJ will switch from the original audio file to a mix of the separated stems. when you take audio and split it to stems and mix all of them together with the same levels, it doesn't sound the same as the original. it's kinda like when you cut a piece of paper into parts and then put them back together: you get the whole piece of paper, but you see slits and cracks in between.
If you like compressed sounding vocals and stifled instrumentals, then fine. Still a way to go in development. I believe traktor trialled stems first, then followed and simplified by VDJ in the 2020 revamp.
The thing with stems in Traktor is that you needed the _actual_ stems; you bought the track in that format. In the ends, complexity and lack of enough music pretty much killed the thing. This functionality in VDJ and Algoriddim is a different kind of thing. Results vary a lot. You don't really get a clean acapella / instrumental. But for the dancefloor, the feature is amazing.

None of these programs are going to give flawless results. Some work better than others. A song with a dense mix is going to have more artifacts than a simpler one.
I like Carlo but I wonder why “big” dj youtubers don’t give virtual dj much exposure. It is like they’re being sponsored by these other brands. SMH. Hehe but Virtual Dj don’t only let you do this on the fly but you can also apply effects on a specific stems. Like you can apply echo or reverb on only the vocal. You can censor only the vocals while the beat continues cleanly. This is so game changing that every DJ youtuber should be making videos about it.
I suspect the same. I was seriously considering to move from Cross DJ to Algoriddim DJay because of stems, after all the hype with these big DJs. Then I found out that VDJ also has the feature, tried it (I was really disappointed by VDJ v7) and now I'm a convert. VDJ separates into up to 5 stems instead of 3, and is REALLY customizable.
Cause I know you reply to pretty much all you comments which I greatly appreciate could help me figure out how to get like certain words to just come into the song with a press of the button. It would be easier if I were to send you a video. I have seen you do it on previous videos
I've done this with Nueral Mix & Virtual DJ. Both work but I still wonder is there a way to remove the 'phase' sounding element from the exported tracks? Removing that final element would make these tracks sound studio quality.
those are just artifacts from the algorithm. there's no way to do it right now without lots of tideous manual work in an audio editor, but as the technology gets improved, the separations will sound cleaner.
Virtual DJ 2021 let's you do all that and then some. You can even change the key or isolate drum sounds. It's a lot easier to use too. Just turn a nob right or left. DONE.

I'd reset rekord box but make sure your tunes are backed up first as you will loose your track list! Me personally I record my mixes externally then transfer it back to PC later Takes longer but at least you have a master copy. Hope that helps

Meaning you can mute each stem off and on while the song is playing on say rekordbox or serato? Or does this software just give you each stem separately? By itself? As a track each? In VDJ you can do this on the fly, specially if you have a 4 channel mixer. It changed my way of mixing.

virtual dj does this and integrats it into the mixer so you can do it while mixing live

i have older versions of vdj and it doesnt allow you to rip out an instrumental or accapella from a track, which version started using this feature?

Yup! Just take off the harmony and vocals tracks, and exporting the drums shouldn't be a problem.
