Drifblim can learn Self Destruct, Explosion, Imprison, and Hypnosis. It's also immune to double edge because it's a ghost. Minior always have double edge. Drifblim is the superior catcher for Minior. Good luck fellow trainers.

I used ceruledge to knock out minior. Used golduck with damp and just saved before the shiny just in case. Then caught it in a luxury ball ! :] actually I got two as I ran into another right away so that was crazy! No sandwich just a shiny charm and some resetting outbreaks once they dispersed. Mine is a red core!
I’ve already got 4 of the 7 Minior I need, and I’ve managed to build a Poliwrath with a Low Kick that does enough to damage it and not KO. Too bad the only Damp Pokémon with False Swipe is Paras/Parasect. I’m using outbreaks instead of just looking for Groups, so I can ensure it’s the color I need

Something I have noticed that never used to happen to me before Indigo Disk, if I enter a battle and run the Pokemon I was in battle with despawns. Not sure if this is because I was in a union circle (was far away from the other player) or not since I never bothered running before I started doing BBQs in union circle, but every Pokemon I ran from last night (wild teras and random mons alike) despawned immediately.
Pokemon despawn if you run away while in a Union Circle, even if you're near the other player. It handles you running away differently and despawns every time. It's been the case the whole time, as well. It's just how Scarlet/Violet handles it, but is much more noticeable in the new DLC as more people will be playing in Union Circles and running from Pokemon
Use Golduck with these moves - Skill Swap - Soak - Yawn/Hypnosis (optional) After you skill swap damp onto the minior you’re free to use whatever you want. Soak changes it to water type just so it doesn’t resist false swipe. I’d switch to a Smeargle with technician that knows these moves - False Swipe - Spore - Imprison - Double Edge Or any tera ghost Breloom/Gallade/Iron Valiant/etc. If you have way too many tera shards then do that, otherwise Smeargle might be easier to train up.
I got mine today in an outbreak and was able to find it before knocking out 30 of them. I used the static Tera Seadra, which has the damp ability, and caught it in a luxury ball!
What I did was get a Smeargle with Explosion, Double Edge, Imprison and False Swipe. Turn one, imprison, so that Minior can no longer kill itself at all. And then just chip away at its hp until it's in HP range for capture. Getting Explosion on Smeargle was a bit tricky, NGL. I needed something with Damp on the field to do it.
swap double edge for a status move (I use thunder wave for ease over hypnosis) and use ghost tera type turn one with the imprison to negate double edge
@@roysdenda5930 that works only if *MILD SPOILER ALERT* you've already finished the story mode and have your permanent Tera orb charge. Otherwise, it's a pain to go back to the center every time to recharge it. Anyway, once it can't kill itself, I've no problem chucking balls until it stays, so status isn't that big of a deal to me
Damp Golduck is just a great "catcher" pokemon in general. Soak, Skill Swap, ect. all have great catching utility. Especially paired with a Spore/False Swipe Breloom.
Skill swap doesnt work. I just used drifblim with imprison, explosion, stockpile and another normal move to deal less damage. So 1st turn use imprison then minior can no longer use explosion and double edge cant land cause the ghost type drifblim
@juanriveraamaya7455 Damp doesn't work here, but that doesn't change the fact that in general Golduck is a great Pokémon for shiny hunting. But you're right Drifbloom is a great Pokémon for certain situations too. In fact they both happen to help my Breloom/Gallade when it's needed, I also have an Impostor Ditto, especially to scout if my False Swipers need some extra help. I also have Floatzel and Slowking in the shiny hunting squad.
@@jayrome1884damp works perfectly. I mean if u bring a ghost type with imprison and explosion then minion cant explode and cant hit u with double edge. With stockpile u can buff ur defense stats 3 times with a good nature and evs in defense and special defense then minior is easy. I complete all the shiny set of the 7 color’s without any problem.
@juanriveraamaya7455 I use X items with my Drifbloom cause it can learn Baton Pass, which means you can pass the boosts onto your False Swiper. That's also why sometimes I use Floatzel instead of Golduck, they both learn Soak (which is useful for Ghost and Grass Types), Taunt, but Floatzel learns a switching move, Golduck doesn't. And sorry for the mistake I wanted to say Skill Swap not Damp lol

I had to gush a bit, I went to the cave to do the sandwich for Minior, but when I walkes in three spawned in front of me. I was juat going to picnic and make a sandwich but i thought I should check them out just incase and Bam! There it was, shiny Minior infront of me. I didnt believe it, I think I sent my pokemon out six times to autobattle because i was convinced it was bad terrain stopping the auto battle. So happy! 🎉
Got two Shiny Minior from my first sando! Glad I watched this before going after it though, 'cause I was able to bring a Kingdra with Damp and save both Shinies from literally blowing up in my face lol
A useful setup is lvl 100 poliwrath with about 75 hp, and maxed out defenses. Use endeavor, which guarantees putting minior below half health turn 1. If you need to revive him, lower your poliwrath’s health using moves like belly drum or double edge in battles with other pokemon
yeah shiny minior is difficult got a shiny one it used explosion my save was way before seeing it so after a while got two blue core shinies just as a redemption but my first fail in scarlet/violet is memorable hopefully this doesn’t happen to anyone else
I just brought by quagsire with the ability damp for my shiny... And I hunted mine in the coastal biome on top of the mountain as it's the only rocl type to spawn there.
I've seen 2 shiny ones 1 on top for the canyon mountain it exploded, the other was down next to the ice (near the center) got that one both without a sandwich
Messed up the sandwich and only got a boost to rock and no shiny boost, but I stuck it through and I got it! I just wish Minior didn’t spawn on terrain that make your Pokémon not kill it and make me think it’s a shiny 😭
After giving up on obtaining a second herba mystica I unpaused to hear I can only use one and be fine (and I see that gives me level 2 instead of level 3) but holy shit, why can't the food stay on the sandwich and actually give me sparkling power?? 😭
@@isegard2957I've used synchro just fine for hunting. (Obviously a dumb idea for minior) but you just have to be very aware of the parameters on what you do.
@@lMystic- I rather not risking killing shinies if I can beside let go feature is not that badand it won't kill the shiny at all. If they make synchro not auto kill anything that touch then yeah I would recommend using it
you can use synchro to get to the 60 pokemon knockedout mark, but after that don't use it! they'll kill any shiny u find with no hesitation lmao, and also using it you can go somewhere too far from ur trainer, so if u find a shiny and exit synchro it can despawn also
That only happens if you are using the synchro machine (you control the Pokémon). If you just throw it out without controlling it, it won’t attack shinies or Tera Pokémon.
I got all colors on top of the cliff above the Coastal Outdoor Classroom.....you just have to be patient and hunt every Minior that appears (green was my most common 😜)
This shiny is a really hard one to get I’ve tried twice with the same technique and it’s difficult… but I’ll keep trying because I’m not likely to give up on a shiny that I want for my collection Edit: I GOT ONE!!!!
Scarlet/Violet have been like this since release afaik. Just don't use the Synchro machine if you are shiny hunting. You will happily murder anything as a Pokemon yourself, shinies and wild tera Pokemon alike. Jury's still out on whether this is intentional behavior or an oversight, but my wager is on it not getting fixed.
This is why you use a Pokemon that flies/hovers like Varoom or Vikavolt. Minior also tends to draw close if you get close enough, so you can potentially use that to lure it to somewhere pathing shouldn't be an issue.
Half expected this to be a video about a hacked shiny distribution, since a lot of these "how to get rare Pokemon" videos involve getting a hacked mon traded to you. Ultimately this video was useless since it just tells you how to shiny hunt with a sandwich, which we've known how to do for a long time. Zero new information or minior specific details. We've known about Pokemon that SD for a long time.
honestly shiny hunting minior isnt that bad, took me around 3 hours to get mine. decently fast. Just went down with a level 3 sandwich and a latios to auto battle everything found it in the second sandwich but it decided to blow up, took another 4 sandwichs to get another (i dont save before shinies, its kinda lame. If it dies, it dies)

I just used a Damp Quagsire with Water Gun....it can slowly chip Minior's health without killing it (just don't let Quagsire overlevel too much 😉)
