    My Studio is a small converted bedroom and it is full of drum gear and a mixing desk not leaving much room for amps. Because there are no "amps" made for drums I have a 3000 watt PA and a 10 channel mixer so when people come to jam or record I just DI them with a SansAmp para driver or Bass driver right to the board. Works so well that a friend that plays bass decided to get one of his own and ditch his amp. Now he shows up at gigs with his bass and SansAmp an just hands the FOH sound guy an XLR cable.

    It comes down to line voltage vs instrument voltage. Guitars use instrument voltage which is low voltage, high impedance. Mixers typically use line level voltage which is higher than instrument and lower impedance. You not only have to match the voltage, but also the impedance. A pre-amp will do this, but you can also get DIs and other tools to help you match the sound for the mixer. If you plug direct there will still be a signal, but it will be very faint and you will probably lose some of the harmonics.

    Hello, can I ask a question. I have a studiomaster 700d amplifier and a peavey powered mixer XR684f and two 300watt prosound speakers. Would an electric guitar play through this kind of set up??? I have no idea and any help would be appreciated 🙂

    Hello. Thank you for your video. It was informative. What product and brand would you recommend that will connect my new electric guitar directly into my Allen and Heath Zed60-14FX mixer? I don't want to buy a tube amp but would like a warm and rich sound. Thank you!

    Hey! I super like your video and topic. I have a question and I want your opinion if its okay. I am playing in the church with ampless setting. I don't like the DI they're using coz it doesnt really give justice on the tone from my guitar -effects etc. I have a Behringer Gdi21, can this be used as subtitute for the DI? Thank you! more power!!!

      Hey, thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I did a quick google and if that pedal is the modelling pedal I am looking at, a blue one, yes, that can replace a DI box and makes guitar sounds at the same time :)

    What if I have an actual pedalboard? What should i get? I mean, do I need a DI box on my pedalboard, or just a preamp? Mb a cab sim? Or both? Sorry that's a lot of questions at once :D
    Ty for the response, very helpfull video..

    • @MrRafaztar
      @MrRafaztar  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a pedal board with like drives and wet effects and want to plug in straight into a mixer, you would need something that has a cab sim, even if it’s a pedal like a sonicake rockjam or a joyo American sound that has a very basic cab sim. Now, you can get a dedicated preamp pedal but basically any pedal with bass and treble (mid even) that can eq can work as a preamp. I do think the cheapest way to get that is a joyo or Harley Benton amp pedals like American, British sound. Caline and others do the same pedals.

      @@MrRafaztar So I'm guessing, If I got a drive > wet effects to Joyo AS, paired with a let's say Mooer Micro DI(cab sim, with has an XLR out), then It's fine to plug the XLR out in to the mixer? Atm I'm building a direct pedalboard for ur church gig that uses a bigget size mixer to 2 PA speakers..I'm kinda confused, but got the idea that I need a preamp like the Joyo American Sound, and a cabsim like the mooer. But what else should go there? I actually have a pedal line up, but not sure is it gonna work at all.
      tuner(wth a buffer) > compressor > tremolo > delay/reverb >Joyo AS > and the DI.
      I rlly appreciate it if u can help me out with this one. Also curiosity...is that gonna bring a lot of hum?

    Does the output of your amp modeler goes to line level or xlr input?

    • @MrRafaztar
      @MrRafaztar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the mixer, but in most cases, unless the mic preamp is always on on one of them, you can use both

  • @dixiefallas7799
