I’m so fussy about my beans on toast. They have to be Heinz, they have to have been warmed but not to boiling point, they have to be on good white toast which was cooled down before the butter went on. My husband just boils up any old beans and chucks cheese and hot dogs in it, and I cry inside when I see it.

I really enjoyed watching this, and did so while I was eating the first beans on toast I'd ever had. I'm an American in Florida who watches East Enders and they are forever eating beans on toast, and in between the mayhem and squinting to grasp the accents, my curiosity had got the better of me. I had never seen anything but a picture, and so while eating, I was on google looking at different ways to cook and found your wonderful video. First, I didn't have any Heinz beans like you have in the UK, so we had just soaked and crock-potted some black-eyed peas ( a bean if there ever was one) yesterday, which I reheated in a saucepan. We always add enough water to the crockpot so that they create their own liquid though creamy "liquor" which is a delicious natural sauce. For toast, I used rye bread I had on hand. While the beans were heating, I cracked an egg into them and poached it, putting the lid on to cook the egg with the steam from the cooking beans. That actually worked really well after I added a bit more water to keep the beans from sticking. My toast was pretty well browned and crunchy, but i used it anyway. Spooning the beans on along with the egg, which had a nice runny yoke, I just added salt and pepper. So my effort was savory with the flavors of the bean, salt and pepper and rye. I have to say I was impressed with my first effort. Sadly I didn't take a pic of my food - who DOES that, anyway?...lol. I'm a convert and will introduce it to the rest of the household, and start getting adventurous. I would personally shy away from anything resembling an american barbecue sauce - it's overused here and I really don't want it on beans. BTW in the US we call coriander "cilantro", the spanish word for it and it's very commonly used in tex-mex and mexican dishes here. The first time I had it was in a tripe dish called Menudo, which is a traditional Mexican dish served New Years Day and made with tripe, and I too though it tasted like soap! But now, I cannot imagine not having it with certain foods. Hang in there - it grows on you.

I'm a Londoner who never watches EastEnders but MY way of doing beans on toast is very simple. Heat Heinz baked beans. Toast any sliced white bread you have to hand (my preference is toasted almost to cremation) but the trick is to NOT put the beans actually ON the toast otherwise it goes all soggy. Add Heinz tomato sauce and enjoy! Welcome to England mate 😉

As an aging Aussie baked beans on toast was always either Saturday or Sunday tea and it was just simple heat beans, toast bread, butter bread add beans while everything is hot eat. As the toast got soggy with the melted butter and beans it just got better. How to make my version of beans on toast
    Step1: toast ur bread (duhh)
Step2: *microwave* ur beans (like ain’t nobody got time to put beans on a stove)
Step3:pour the beans on the bread 🍞 (cuz it’s called beans ON toast)
Step4: sprinkle some cheese on it
Optional step: microwave until cheese is melted
Step 5: shut up and enjoy the meal!
Cheese swap step: add Parmesan if ur feelin’ fancy
EDITORS NOTE! Parmesan is really strong 💪 so don’t put 2 much
And of course I’m talking about the OG Parmesan Oregiano
I think that’s how you spell it
But shut up and eat the damn thing!!!

My baked beans on toast recipe (and proly 90% of your recipes aswell lol)
    1. Turn the oven on
    2. I take two slices of bread (doesn't matter on the type) and spread some butter/ margarine on them
    3. I take some Hienz baked beans and heat them up in the micro wave for a bit, then put them on the bread (I also add a bit of salt)
    4. I great some cheddar cheese and sprinkle it all over the beans!
    5. I put them in the oven for 2 minutes and take them out when they look cripsy
And that my friends... is how you make beans on toast😎

He didn't actually win, but lo and behold he prepared the beans almost exactly how I would've (full disclosure: I've never actually had beans on toast). I would've used bacon (thick, diced), brown sugar, and brown mustard. I probably would've buttered the toast also. I will compliment Chloe on using chorizo and BBQ sauce. I make beans in toast two ways depending on how lazy I am. The easy way, bean with way too much grated cheese melted into the beans, buttered toast and a bit of pepper. The second way, make cheese on toast, while you do that cook the beans add some cheese to melt in, pepper and then once its assembled more grared cheese (this version is not for someone worrying about their arteries or their waist line).
