I would like to end up back in philly (bc it’s where Im from) and it’s great to see what you do! I feel slightly behind because I changed my major and the internships I’ve had are all in event planning/ hospitality.
Don’t worry about feeling slightly behind. You have event planning experience which is a huge part in PR; client activations/events! Good luck with your last semester and hopefully you’re able to find something in Philly 😊🤞🏾

Is PR worth it? I’m heading to college in the fall and I’m trying to decide whether or not if it’s worth it. I like the idea of the career itself but I’m worried about job stability & salary. I know it’s not the greatest idea to base your career choice on money but I think it’s still an important factor to consider.
Jiara Johnson Girl I actually am a PR major and a marketing minor if that’s the route you wanna go down then please by all means go down it I’m one of the people who came into college as a business student I thought that that was my path, that I was supposed to do business so I studied accounting and marketing management once I got to accounting I realized that was not for me I didn’t know what I was going to do I didn’t know who I wanted to be in my academic advisor asked me what my interest were and when I told him he handed me a sheet little did I know that it was a communications paper talking about the communications department and what all it had to offer I fell in love I went into PR and I never looked back I am telling you right now it is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made I am getting ready to graduate in December if that’s what you wanna do then do it and as far as a job stability goes with public relations marketing is mixed in with it whether you minor in it major in it it doesn’t matter so as far as job stability you will be fine

Hi Tayah! I'm about to finish my undergrad in psychology and I'm really interested in public relations, so do you thunk getting my masters in communication is a good idea?
Yup! I know someone who had a biology degree and made the switch to PR. It’s honestly about what experience you have as well as how interested/passionate you are.
I'm studying Integrated Marketing Communications and am thinking of going into PR (I like to write and PR seems to involve lots of writing), however, I used to major in Computer Science and am still taking programming classes. Is there any type of PR job in your department that has to code at any point in time? Such as using HTML to help in the fabrication of emails in campaigns? I like to code as well as write and would like to do something in PR that involves both, I'm just trying to see if you've come across such a thing!
Through my internships and my first/second actual job in PR I was never required to code. It definitely helps to have analytical skills though. Digital PR/social media emphasizes on data so you can effectively show your clients everything you've done to help them get their brand/name out there to the public...you have the numbers to back it up. I would try looking into PR/communication jobs in tech/financial companies like Accenture or PWC to see if you can incorporate those coding skills. Hope this helps in some way!

What thing is PR with reality and part interior design. Do you know how I could do that or get information for it?

Hi! Yes, as long as you have an interest in the communications industry you can find a job within PR, social media, etc. There are also PR jobs within the healthcare/science industries, too.
