How to Install Polyiso Wall Insulation Over Steel Stud Walls

Hunter Xci Foil continuous rigid polyiso is installed over gypsum sheathing on steel studs, creating a thermal control layer for the wall assembly. Xci Foil boards are friction fit between the base plates that will be part of the masonry cladding attachment system. In this demo, Xci BarriBond XL is applied to the foam edges of the Xci Foil boards to seal the seams as they are installed. Xci BarriBond XL can also be applied to the exterior seams of the Xci Foil boards to create an air barrier if desired. Here an air barrier is applied to the exterior gypsum instead and the exterior seams of the Xci Foil are left untreated.
