I’m also really hoping for an updated MagSafe Duo. I don’t even care if it is Qi2 or not, I charge overnight so it doesn’t need to be quick. I just want the same thing as before, but with USB C. Fingers crossed.
Hi Stephen, so happy to know about the new and lighter Anker MagGo 3-in-1 charger from your video! I would love to see your review of the Nexus 3-in-1 Wireless MagSafe Charger by Bare (the same people who do the super-thin phone cases) and how it compares to the Anker ones, it's supposed to be able to charge iPhones for up to 15W as well.
I feel like some people are mistaken that you need MagSafe for the 15 Pro’s Standby mode. I’ve many times just had my regular USB-C wired charger in my 15 Pro and just put it on its side and the Standby mode always activates!
New car calls for a new phone mount. Just ordered the ESR! Hoping I can mount it near the middle of the car so that the driver and passenger can use it as needed.
I have had had two of the ESR magsafe chargers in my car for the last three months and they have been great with solid Magsafe connection and great charging. I found the Brodit range of car mounts the best for attaching phone chargers to the car. They make specific mounts for specific cars and they clip into existing trim and don't leave a mark plus they leave all vents fully operational and you don't get that 'shaky' phone scenario when driving over rougher roads.
need a new magsafe duo with usb c. Not sure why apple doesn't seem to be making a new one. I would mind paying that premium for that small form factor with fast charging.
@@beardfm Oh, don't bother. It's probably March. I am just waiting :) Some of them are not even available in the US, even though they were supposed to come around 8 February.
Another outstanding and well produced video. I just bought the Anker Cube! LOL Very excited to explore installing the ESR in the car but via permanent mount. I just cannot imagine losing a valuable air vent.
Haha the cube is still good! I gave mine to my Mom. And losing an air vent is unfortunate, but my car's dash it weirdly sloped everywhere. May try to find another place to mount it. Thanks for watching!
If you miss the Duo just pick up the 12 South Butterfly charger. It's tiny and it charges phones and watches at full speed. It's not cheap, but neither was the Duo!
You're 1 of my 3 go to Apple tech reviewers ... and you have an angle that nobody else does. Great work, really appreciated this video. -- Also a fellow Bimmer guy. :)
Yes, as usual, Anker creates another quality product for us. However, the cable is very cheap and is not flexible. I discarded it for a better quality cable.
Thanks for the review! I'm just wondering with this new Anker Qi2 charger do you see the charging animations...etc? Because it's not technically "made for MagSafe" even though it's Qi2 (unlike the cube)
PSA: I bought a Belkin 30 watt USB C car adapter to power the ESR Qi2 charger to get 15 watt speeds and it doesn’t provide power to it. I checked and it charges my phone when connected directly so it does work. But for some bizarre reason the ESR Qi2 wireless charger does not charge my phone when connected to the Belkin car adapter. So dumb.
Here he goes again, y’all!!!! Making another STELLAR video for all of us “Ruppies” out here!!! 😂🎉 You are the absolute BEST, my friend!! Pls allow me to say THANK YOU for your sincerely-genuine (Why hello, My friend-I’m Captain🧑🏿✈️Redundancy, it is a very nice pleasure to make your acquaintance & meet you 🫡 🤭), knowledge-dipped & thorough reviews. Seriously, you are TOP NOTCH and it’s fun to be a tiny part of your growth & support you in any possible way i can! THANK YOU, again, for all you do, your great content and lastly, your voice - my gawwd, your normal, normal normal voice with no ridiculous hooks, idiotic catchphrases to begin, middle or end with (outside of ❤/sub - those you HAVE to do). Thumbnails we get too. But the rest is so YOU! I have to mute the remaining 95% & read the captions or I’d toss my brand new Samsung out the window 📺➡️🪟⤵️ 📺 ⬇️ 📺 🚶🏼♂️ 📺 🕳️.
I bought the ESR Qi2 charger for $26 when it came out. That's the affordability I'm expecting. Have it mounted on a Course Motorsports Direct Fit mount 17mm ball and it works great. I wish it was circular and smaller but for the price it's fine until something nicer comes out. The Anker stuff is way way overpriced. Qi2 should not be much more expensive to implement than Qi. The average MagSafe 7.5W / Qi 37Wh battery pack is less than $50 and can often be bought for less than $30 on sale. Who in their right mind is paying $90 for an Anker Qi2 battery pack much less $110 for a travel Qi2 charger? I'm gonna wait till less greedy companies release Qi2 power banks. For now my INIU B43 MagSafe 7.5W / Qi 37Wh battery pack works well enough. It cost me $15 when it was on sale and normally sells for $30 or less. Shame on Anker for price gouging.
Here's the problem with your video: it's costing me money! I just ordered a new ESR car charger and an Anker 3-in-1--not that I don't already have 2 travel chargers already... sigh.
I’m also really hoping for an updated MagSafe Duo. I don’t even care if it is Qi2 or not, I charge overnight so it doesn’t need to be quick. I just want the same thing as before, but with USB C. Fingers crossed.
I agree, I also want a new (and hopefully higher capacity/fast charging) MagSafe Battery Pack with USB-C also!
Same! Still want that.
look into the 12 South Butterfly charger. It's smaller and awesome (and USB C.)

I'll look that up and try to get it for review!

Oh for sure, don’t need MagSafe for it. Just more convenient.

I'm loving mine still! Works great and more sturdy with the little stabilizer than the Belkin.
Loved the video just bought the magsafe car charger and usb c car charger
Nice! Still using the ESR car charger to this day!
When does this 3-1 launch in the UK?
I’ll try to find out!

Oh I’ll check those out!

Nice, but will the car charger work with vertical AC vents?
The clamp turns 360 degrees so it should! The stabilizer won’t be as useful as it will be on the side but should hold fine.
I'm waiting for the new MagGo product line coming to Europe. Not typically for the 3in1 but the others.
I’ll try to find out!

I really like ESR magsafe-type charger in my car. I changed out my old one to this. No fan, which is great...since the old one had very noisy fans.

I've been eying that Butterfly charger for a while!
@@beardfm give it a go! I’m digging it. So perfect for travel 💥

You can definitely get better cables but it’s not terrible.
Yes. I think you can use iPad usbc cable instead of Anker's. Anker's cable looks cheap😅

I thought the MagSafe Duo just didn’t work cause of the camera bump
Still works even with the camera bump! there's a small gap so probably not as efficient charging but works.
What portable charger do you use….
This one from Anker! th-cam.com/video/4b1VJ6OZkWU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sxbuReu8TqhetgKp
I'm blown away that it's not just pronounced cue eye two
It's pretty wild, but in the Qi2 documentation they specify that pronunciation!
ESR car charger only fits max model iPhones. Camera bump on non-max iPhone gets in the way
Really? This model ESR charger?
haha, I think Apple Duo is better if there is a typec version.😄
