Actually there's no real good reason for going this route, unless you want to use it as a rat run as most idiots do and for many they ferk up their cars.
The Rolls drove like a mature man ( calm, composed & dignified ) whereas the others looked like brats. 😀

Even in the army you actually learn that water crossings are to be crossed slowly. If you drive too fast, a bow wave is created, which causes water to hit the exhaust at the rear. In addition, sensitive parts of the electric ignition system can get wet, causing the engine to stop. It's obvious that many motorists no longer have this knowledge, given the number of drivers who speed through here.
That wave of water is going on to air intake of the engine and that's make the engine to fail. And the damage could be very expensive to fix. Once the water is in the fire chamber that could end in broken piston rods.🤔
water hitting the exhaust isnt even an issue. it gets wet while driving in the rain anyways and while the engine is running water cant really enter it either. the engine fails because it sucks in water, which obviously cant be compressed and causes internal damage.

If he didn't care then why did he slow right down and drive through it slowly? Also he looks like he chauffeurs his wealthy boss around in that so imagine him having to let them know he water damaged the roller 😳
He DID care and THAT'S why he slowed down, to avoid any potential mishaps. I respect the driver for that.

had the same thing on the highway across from my house. rain=watching spining, rolling, turn upside down cars :) traffic was slowing down eventually after a few crashes. because of junk cars and parts everywhere. until the next rain. they fixed after 3-4 months :D
This reminds me a popular italian movie early 80s, in which the only amusement in a countryside small town village was the weekly train passage.
Important to Note:
1) Know the wading depth of your vehicle (My X-Trail = 350mm, Land Rovers (EG: D3 and 4) = 700mm, Latest Land Rovers = 900mm, BMW = 10mm 🤣 )
2) Go through slowly and build up a bow wave to protect the air intake.
Never overtake your bow wave.

Those joking about the Rolls driver being careful for their owner, it’s literally a car used for funeral transport (and sometimes weddings). Belongs to a local funeral directors and they have like 30 Rolls in varying specs and body designs. AW Lymn in Nottingham.
Absolutely crazy, anyone going through there more than 5 mph should be done for dangerous driving!! At that speed you have no control of steering and as we saw many cars lost parts!! People showing off driving fast isn't a good look especially when half your car is left on the road!!!!

As a family who's had several minis that I'm quite positive is a mini by goodword which goes to Rolls-Royce for finishing , basically a cooper s but far better trim and no bonnet scoop otherwise just like a cooper s ,I've done same with a Saab convertible with floods years ago I got car through it was coughing and spluttering the flood was at entrance to junction for M1 by the time I had gone into motorway and got home my car was fine, pure luck I went through flood at right speed.
Does avarage driver know where the alternator is located in the engine bay? Since what we see I would say not at all
