For Pharm LEARN THE DRUG CLASSES. I can not stress this enough. If you know what a class is used for,side effects,contraindications you’ll be golden. Don’t worry so much about each drug there are too many. Also focus on the suffixes that will help you know WHAT a drug does even if you’ve never seen it before.
I just came across your channel and let me tell you that I had a very* hard time in my first semester as well. I had to drop co-requisite classes- it was just such a rocky road for me. But let me encourage you and all the other nursing students out there that you can do this! I am now in my third semester, praise Jesus, and the journey has still not been easy whatsoever and I still have struggles at times but there is a light at the end of this tunnel! DO NOT GIVE UP! You got into nursing school by God you can certainly graduate. Even if you have to drop and redo a class like I did, that is better than giving up!!!
Hey Congrats on passing this semester. Don’t beat yourself up. The goal is to make it to the Nclex. No matter how just make it there! I struggled in my first semester also. I had to change my study methods. I had to focus on the PowerPoints and practice questions. Pharmacology you just gone have to figure out if you are a flash card person or quizlet person. I recommend utilizing quizlet bc a lot of times people have already made the quizlet with all the information you need. Also find a study group!!! Studying with people who comprehend things I struggle with was a game changer! Also don’t let the people bragging get to you…. Folks in Nursing school brag to try and get under peoples skin…. You got this!!!! I am sending all the love and positive vibes your way! Black Nurses matter!!! We can do this!!!
@@diamondtiera96 quizlet definitely helped me pass with high scores on my test!! I like to my make flashcards on quizlet instead of literally writing everything out on paper. You can also test yourself and make practice tests.

Pharm is a big class with a lot of material. Try to plan out your days and even if it’s just 30 minutes a day review/ read / practice something. Nursing school is hard but it’s doable. Make a vision book for motivation of the things you want to accomplish. As far as work find resources to supplement income to give you more time to put towards school. I had to sacrifice a ton when taking major classes and keep a tight schedule with having three children. Everyone’s situation is different but you will find your way. Don’t give up because these times are what build your foundation as a nurse. I had to constantly tell myself this is only temporary. Pressure makes diamonds 💎 and once you get through those tough times it will give you so much pride in yourself of what you are capable of which is anything you put your mind and hard work into. I did LPN and went back for my RN within a year. My program was accelerated 5 week classes 😩😩. So I definitely feel your pain. In the end The opportunities are limitless. Nursing school classes build on each other from class to class so don’t brain dump. Im guilty of this and procrastination but it got better with time.

It’s important to know how the body works so anatomy is something you will have to bring back.

I had As in foundations and b in pharm 1 but for some reason I just did terrible on health assessment quizzes .. but I have that same teacher for my maternity class this semester and I'm going through the same issues ... studying for hours and still not doing good on quizzes
Also brush up on math because it’s incorporated into pharm/ dosage calculation. We couldn’t miss one in my program. I would try to find worksheets or used resources given from my professor. If you feel like you are beginning to drown ask for help asap! You are paying for school so use the professor to your benefit.

I don’t believe your school is “H”, is that the school that begins with “F”? The campus is super cute. How did you make your choice? Also, how did you choose between LPN and ADN. I have a Bachelors so I’d qualify for direct entry to ADN but I am like you with no clinical experience. So yeah, how’d you choose your school and program? Thanks for sharing!
I’m at “F”. I made the choice by simply calling- “H” gave me bad vibes from the beginning. My original choice was to go to Chamberlain but they do not offer evening classes in our area. I choose ADN for the career opportunities, I knew I wanted my masters so ADN seemed like the better option.
Not gonna lie, I feel like you need to take it more serious and prioritize maybe school over work. If this is what u want to do you just have to work harder and put studying over everything else. Keep going
