You were lucky , my parcel from Rail,s arrived containing a pair of wagons ( 3 figure cost) received with over a dozen parts broken of including the couplings at both ends and the linking bar ,which was in three pieces, this was due mainly to the poor packing and lack of an inner crumple zone to absorb impacts ,which in my case the models absorbed it instead, their response was not reassuring either .
Evri - We guarantee every package smashed in our hands! That should be their slogan and my god I have lost count how many packages turned up mangled and I have never received any package from Evri that has not been crushed. I do not use them and if I can help it. I will use FedEx or Royal Mail as I rarely get problems with them. I don't mind paying more postage if it means I will get my model trains intact and not smashed up as these things are not cheap to fix and any monkey can deliver a parcel for Evri! I really wish people would stop using them as maybe they will buck up their ideas and up their care of packages. I am happy to see that the model train is not damaged thankfully. Great video, All the best, Peter.
Hi Anthony, I have just watched the video and have some concerns that someone maybe impersonating us. Looking at the video the packaging and especially the FRAGILE tape is not something we use. Furthermore we do not use EVRI as a courier service. Can you please confirm when and how you purchased this?
It appears that I’ve made an error. It is my mistake I am very sorry saying it was Rails. I can either take the video down completely, edit the title to say it isn’t Rails or completely do a Part 2 and apologise publicly.
I have now edited the title and description to say the item was put from Along Classic Lines and not Rails. I have also said so, at length, in a community post. Once again, sincere apologies.
Nice model of the class 68, and thank goodness it was well wrapped up. Obviously a big question mark whether some courier firms can be trusted with breakable items
I’m in New Zealand and had many deliveries over the past years just like yours,I bought off the retailer that’s closing down. They seem to use a box way too big for the contents.
Glad everything was OK. I check which courier firms are being used when considering ordering items and if they are on my blacklist then I tell the supplier. Sometimes they will change the delivery service in which case, depending on the alternative courier, I will continue with my purchase. Sometimes they won't or can't so I don't purchase from them.
Silly question: What courier did Hattons use? Could you choose their courier when dealing with Rails of Sheffield? Reason I suggest this is I ordered a component I could'nt get in ireland and I had a choice of couriers. I chose the cheapest courier, and that was bad. I ended up loosing the component and the money I paid for it.
The courier wasn’t my choice, it was chosen (I presume) by Rails. Luckily, the package was padded enough to protect the product. I’ve never ordered from Hatton’s. This is my first ‘new’ loco I’ve bought.
Hattons used DHL for courier service to Ireland ☘️ or Royal Mail 😪 Royal Mail / An Post is not a pretty combination 🤬 DHL got expensive, £26 😲, so unless you had a good trunks fill💰 it was hardly worth the extra cost 😳
Greetings Anthony 👋 Congratulations on the new locomotive 🚂 even if its delivery 👶 was a scary experience 😳 The Dapol 68 won't let you down 💪 it's an excellent performer 😇 Looking forward to seeing more updates on your layout build 🤞 Very best wishes from the Emerald Isle ☘️
Hatton's did "next day" delivery. After about a week, I enquired where my parcel was and that six days is hardly next day delivery. They replied that it will arrive next day once they post it.
@@Mariazellerbahn I suspect not. A smaller box with the contents wrapped in lots of bubble wrap inside would never have been crushed like and almost empty box with a small box inside did.
Hello Anthony wow im amazed that loco made in one piece Its awful how they treat our parcels especially given how much money we spend. Very nice Dapol 68;👍
Rails of Sheffield are poor to regards to packaging, had a few by them. Yes very prompt in sending items but as for are packing i think they need to use more care considering on how much most models are nowadays.
Hi Anthony nice new loco, love 68s, prefer 00, n too small for me lol. From my experience with Rails they always have lots of bubble wrap around the products which is a good job when Evri are involved. Cheers Andy
Evri are the most incompetent delivery company out there. Not improved since they changed there name from Hermes. had too many damaged models do to rough handling. Will not deal with any retailer or e-bayer that sends them out with these cowboys. Pleased your model was ok.
Nice Class 68 model and lucky that package was secure with the extra cladding. Great video
Cheers Simon, thanks for commenting. I hear you are off to the Emerald Isle

That’s terrible, I was lucky, yes. Hope you were compensated well. Cheers buddy

Hi, Glad the mystery is solved. Many thanks for updating your video title and description with the correct supplier. Kind Regards Oliver

Oh dear, that’s not a good service. Hope you got sorted in the end
wow that box :D beautiful loco and i'm glad she made it :)
Cheers buddy
Phew, it's a good thing the model is not damaged, a lovely one it is as well. :)
Cheers Reuben, it is a lovely one
You have to ask why the box was so big for such a small item?
Glad it is in good condition.
Happy Modelling
Exactly, cheers buddy
The boxes are large to prevent items inside getting damaged.
A smaller box and the contents would have been damaged.
It's obvious.

I know buddy, glad it was all good in the end, great model.

In their defence it was well wrapped in bubble wrap, but yes the outer box should have been sturdier. Thanks buddy

Many thanks Andy. Thank you for commenting. I used to have 00 but downsized house so I’m limited for space.
Looking good, despite the difficulties 👍🏻
Thank you buddy
nice looking loco bud
Cheers Peter, yeah I’m really pleased with it.
No,their offer of compensation was very low, considering the broken parts are not available as spares.
Not impressed, and I told them so.
Oh dear sorry to hear that
Very nice model
Cheers buddy
❤
Nice loc thanks for good mail call thanks lee
Cheers Lee
They area nice loco, but be carful of the cab front handrails, they are prone to falling out...
Cheers buddy, they do seems delicate
Id have refused to accept a package damaged like that.
I took a risk, luckily it was all good in the end. 👍
Evri ? Say no more, horrendous company
I’m just glad the loco was all good in the end. Cheers buddy
Kicked about and thrown from a moving train package.
Maybe, who knows? Thanks for commenting
Shoee..., you dodged a bult.

Sorry to hear that, yes I’ve heard that they have a bad reputation. Very pleased with the model though. Cheers buddy
