Dude I know I already left a comment, but god damn I’m so happy I found your channel.
There are so many huge channels out there it must be tough being a small TH-camr. I’ve only watched a couple of your videos so far but i love that they feel really down to earth and from a normal persons perspective.
This channel is honestly a hidden gem.

Ghost of Tsushima :They came to Japan many times for research.
Assasin Creed Shadows : Not a single Japanese is involved.
We know it's a game, so we won't ask 100 percent historical accuracy. BUT. what UBI did was using Japan and Japanese culture as free asset.

I'm so burned out on big open world games that waste my time. I really wish they make maps smaller and more interesting. Been playing through the yukaze series and the smaller world is awesome. Its packed with content. Seeing how the location change with each game a lot of fun.
Assassins Creed games are full of bloat, time wasting, and rinse and repeat mechanics. for years, I wanted AC to take place in Japan. Know I'm not excited and probably just replay Ghost of Tsushima instead. Like you said. That game is amazing. I love the story and characters, music, exploring the world, music, art style, game play, side quest, loved it all.

I wouldn't expect Ubisoft to learn at this stage of the dev cycle, but then again, I'm already cynical enough as it is when it comes to "AAA" releases.

I am 31, however until I turned 25, I was never really a gamer at all, haha.
I used to own a Playstation 1 as a kid, playing a bit of Spyro, the first need for speed games, Crash Bandicoot and all that good stuff, but then I stopped completely for many years! Now I try to keep up with all the games that are “must play” kind of titles, but going back too far, and the graphics just makes me go like ‘Nope! I wish I could play you, but you’re just too ugly for me, I’m sorry!’ 🤣

It has it's moments, but also: long loading screens, static conversations forcing you to stand or sit idly in place for extended periods of time and lacking locomotion type options (only headset relative movement, which was the final straw for me).
