Exactly, and not a lot of people know this, the smearing campaign against this game is still ongoing. There have been cases where some top Chinese streamers were approached and offered good money to produce smearing video about this BM:Wukong game. Regarding that fox story, it’s actually itself turned into a woman, not that man run into some random girl. The fox is the girl. Now with that mindset, watch that again.
Yeah the secret area in chapter 5 is tied to the horse quest. If you fucked that up you can’t get there. I did that on my blind play through. Fucked everything up for me because that secret area has a lot of items you need to get platinum.
Red boy was last of his kind true, but it was the Celestial court that kill his people, or at least that was implied. and he was meant to be a pawn in the power struggle between Heaven and Buddha realm so it's kinda understandable that he was pissed.

Mine did stutter a bit in chapter 3 but restarting the game helped. Plus it was mostly smooth so I wouldn’t say it ruined the game. Cyberpunk when it launched in PS5 caused me lots of hard crashes in the middle of game missions so that is something I didn’t tolerate as much.
A thing to add - it's interesting that OP mentions being "borded out" by the same environments in most Asian games. This game described at most 50 pages of the 2300-page novel in the Journey to the West book. I barely completed the book and found that a lot of elements were missing from this game. I guess since this story is "based off" of Wukong, it doesn't detail his actual adventure. He traversed between the celestial, earthly, and even underworld realms, which weren't depicted in the game. Half the novel depicts his journeys in the celestial palace and the underworld (hel), but only shows him in the earthly realm. Also, it would take a significant amount of money and imagination to design all three realms. That was mentioned by the dev team.
@@HMan2828 Yeah I heard and I'm hyped 😂They said their next releases will include more Chinese horror elements, which is awesome because this game needs more of it lol. Chinese horror is so different from conventional horror since its more "spiritualistic" in a sense and not the jump-scare childsplay. Its more in-depth and always has some hidden meaning behind it, usually related to ritualistic practices made during ancient time periods. The fight in that blood pool with the Tiger Vanguard was one example. It's probably horrifying to western audiences, but that's what traditional Chinese horror is. It's masterful art imo.
@4:08 I encountered no "big technical issue" playing & completed the game on PS5 (true ending) last week and I only encountered lagged or stuttered once continuously during a boss fight on Chapter 6 first boss. I was on Quality setting. I changed to Balance for that boss & rest my PS5 for an hour in case it was heat issue. And that boss lag had never appeared again and I have even switched it back to Quality setting after that. I have no stutter or lag issue at all throughout any fight or exploring game play ever apart from that one time occurrence. I only experienced game crashed 3 times during this wonderful journey also. So minor technical issue maybe definitely not a "big one." Highly recommended this game, and definitely one of the best if not the best single player game ever.
i have a theory: that in the opening cutscene when wukong approaches the four kings, he scratches his head for a sec and rubs his fingers together and then sharply throws "something" away and i think that is a strand of his hair just in case he was defeated and needed a clone to ressurect. i believe this clone he threw is you and i have 2 reasons that this is true.1. in the game everytime you "die" you essentially turn into a strand of hair which makes more sense when i tell you reason 2. in other movies and depictions such as the forbidden kingdom with jackie chan and jet li it was a thing that happened for jet li's monk character was also a clone and this has significant continuity within wukong lore so much so that i came up with this theory
And btw, you’re 100% right! This is undoubtedly one of the all time greats, a certified banger. Since firing up the game, I’ve been consumed with retrying boss fights, exploring for (imo) the best secret and side missions I’ve ever seen in a game (and I’ve played and loved Elden Ring.. still do). I just can’t stop playing the game… also, I don’t think it’s necessary to penalise people (dropping souls on death) in souls games, as in this game some bosses are so punishing, that you don’t need more unnecessary punishment. This game is so well done - so unexpected!
So the equipment or spells you get in the sidequest/secret areas? They usually have story significance that are call backs to the original Journey to the West. Quite often, in the original story, Wukong encounters a foe or situation he is unable to overcome without completely obliterating everything. And so he calls upon the help of various Gods and Deities. The 100 Eye Daoist and the Yellow Wind Sage are characters from the original story. Against the Yellow Wind Sage, you can get a bell that completely negates his BS tornado, a callback to when Sun Wukong got a magical bead that negated his winds. Against the 100 Eye Daoist, Sun Wukong called upon the help of a Rooster Deity who pecked the ever living crap out of the Centipede Yaoguai. The needle artifact you get from the secret area there is a callback to that, when the Snake Deity helped to re-empower the needle after you defeat the corrupted Rooster.
all the shit boss you mention HAVE a counter, it is VESSEL. if you snooping around and get all the secret area in each chapter you get the vessel mean to counter each of those boss. the centipede guy when he turn gold can be cancel by the needle, the rat king wind shit can be cancel by the wind bell. the vessel discribtion mention highly effect again certain ennemy. about wise voice his laser CANT hit you if you stay behind him, when he take your max hp you also deal much higher dmg so it a trade off. The only dodge worthy move is the glowing hand slam, the timming off that move is so tight I almost got hit everytime and depend on your health it can be fight ending move. The time I dodge that hit is the time I kill him. About the cart after Pingping use the fan to snuff the fire you can go back where you came and you will see a path that was blocked be fire earlier that is where you find the last one
Also worth mentioning that the area vessel items can resolve your main issues with yellow wind sage and the daoist if you find them in the secret areas
Both the Buddha and the celestial sides court are metaphors of the religion and the royalty in the original journey to the west story, simply put pretenders who did a lot bad stuffs.

The things you hated about the Yellow Wind Sage and the 100 Eyeed Daoist are both solved by doing the secret areas of their relative chapters and using the item you get as a reward during their 3rd phase.

In the game's version of Red Boy, his grudge is against the Celestial court, not the Bull Demon King. He's only staging a coup because he wants the relic and probably the kingdom's resources in a war against the Jade Emperor.
The game just keeps you on your feet all the time, which is the No.1 element for a great game. Wise-Voice is counter intuitive as after a couple boss fights we have learned to keep our distance, dodge and wait for oppotunities, but if you stay under him and just pedicure him, it's actually not that hard a fight.

I’m only a few hours in but it has blown me away. I kinda forgot how stunning modern AAA can look. The combat has a ton of depth and feels great. The bosses are great. The game is overall punishing but fair and forgiving at the same time. It’s just been a breath of fresh air.
The only reused enemies I can think of are the frogs (although with different abilities) and a skeleton-snake-neck-guai wearing blue garments, found in Chapter 1 and 4.

most of the bosses that you didn't like fighting are actually designed to be that way, because you might find side quests that give you items or abilities that make fighting them easier. Ex. the tornados can be negated by an item that you get, yellow brow's gold armor can be hurt by increasing your attack from another spell you learn, and the hundred eye dude's 3rd phase can be canceled with a needle item that you get that flies around.
17:38 some of these structures, walls with sculptures, statues, temples, scenaries, even bridges are actually exists in China, Game science went scanning them locally into 3d modules!!
14:38 ya, i agreen the hitbox of the front side of the centipede is bad, i always hit his sides. this is also a faithful recreation from the novel, 100 eyes centipede was so powerful that wukong has to ask for help from some deity. spoiler alarm . . . . wukong borrowed a needle vessel to dispell the golden blazing lights from centipede 's 100 eyes.
07:37 spoiler alarm, there are many ways to recover some of your mana . . . . . . .Finding a Celestial Taiyi Pill that increases Max Mana permanently also restores the mana bar in the process. The Galeguard Greaves are foot armor that restore a moderate amount of Mana if the player can perfect dodge three times in quick succession. The Spirit Shards skill for the Immobilize spell recovers Mana when you crash the immobilization on an enemy. The Bold Venture skill for the Rock Solid spell recovers Mana if used correctly - in fact, it's one of the best Black Myth Wukong skills. One option for the Fuming Ears Relic has the same effect as Bold Venture, allowing the player to regain half the cost of the Rock Solid Deflection Spell when they successfully parry an enemy with it. In Chapter 3, defeating the optional Apramana Bat boss fight will cause the Turtle Tear to drop on the beach nearby. This is a Soak for your Gourd that restores Moderate amounts of Mana if you drink it at full health.
I didn’t have any shuttering issues. I’m also playing on the PS5. But I do notice that with consoles, sometimes you get such issues when it gets too hot after a while. I always makes I turn on the A/C or at least the room is not stuffy
In pagoda realm, there are mtfks like street lamp walking around, u need to defeat nine of them to cancel the half health bar effect! Also the hundred eyes mtfk, there is a item from secret area called weaver needle or smt like that can counter the boss pharse 2!
The effect of the Pagoda Realm is actually the Boss doing, after you beat it and head back down there, you will never had that effect again, so it fair to said he using that in the fight as well lol. Oh and one more thing if you beat that boss before dispatch all the lattern head, you will miss out a curio drop by defeating all of them...
id like to say this non white is under rated of a boss like that theme is so sick and the vibe of the fight where your fighting for your life against a crazy serial killer who freezes and poisons you
IKR! Weird concept. It's like the developers wanted you to explore the Pagoda, to figure that you have to kill the lantern creatures before fighting the boss.
Just to add on the part on the story of Chapter 5. It wasn't the Bull King who killed off Yaksha's race. It was hinted that it was Lingshan (Buddha's faction) which orchestrated the genocide of Yaksha's entire race. The Princess and Red Boy were the last surviving members and proof of their doing. Red Boy was a test tube baby borned (by will of the Celestial Court) to be used as a leverage against Lingshan as living proof of their deed (genocide) against the Yakshas. Bull King was aware, but he was powerless in his struggle and tried to protect his family from harm by being tame.

The Fox is an Xian who craves for human life, so she changes into a female human form, marry with male human, and have a baby, but the change pose certain fatal risk to her life.
07:02 you meant Vessels? cause relics are the magical items you got at the end of each chapter, represent wukong's ear, nose, touge, body, eyes, and mind
Funny that the issues with those bosses you mentioned can be redirected if you got the relic from secret quest/area of the same chapter, and for captain Wise-voice Gamescience seem acknowledged how annoying it was and nerfed it in recent patch

The Yaksha King's people were wiped out by the Buddhas' faction in the celestial court. Yes, there are factions: the imported Buddhas versus the Native Chinese Gods like Erlang. The Yaksha King was the last prince of his kind. His soul was revived by someone from the Native Gods' side to cause trouble for the Buddhas. It was placed in the queen’s womb, so he wasn’t truly Bull King’s bloodline. @vasanthpragash854 Exact same experience ive had. Only time I've had any stuttering start to happen is after playing for hours at a time and soon as it starts i just close it all down and restart and it's all fine again.
Just downloaded the game, probably my most anticipated of the year, can't wait to see how amazing it is.
Me too. Black Myth: Wukong is even better than I expected.
I totally regret buying it
What a waste
Wu kong is much better with camera than fromsoft. Like the wind sage cor instance. It autospins you to lock on him during his teleporting

mate, you missed the secret area at Chapter 3, player village is not a secret area.
Your talking about the true ending area?
Yeah the secret area in chapter 5 is tied to the horse quest. If you fucked that up you can’t get there. I did that on my blind play through. Fucked everything up for me because that secret area has a lot of items you need to get platinum.
Red boy was last of his kind true, but it was the Celestial court that kill his people, or at least that was implied. and he was meant to be a pawn in the power struggle between Heaven and Buddha realm so it's kinda understandable that he was pissed.
It's not the Celestial Court. It's actually Budha, and it's stated in the journals.

My PS5 hasnt stuttered so far.
I have completed the whole game on PS5 with Quality settings. No problem at all. This guy maybe trolling. Not a lot of people know this, the smearing campaign against this game is still ongoing. There have been cases where some top Chinese streamers were approached and offered good money to produce smearing video about this BM:Wukong game. Certain guidelines were given to them, some have came out to expose it showing the communication in details. So I'm sure they are doing the same with western streamers also. Just hope this channel isn't one of them.
Mine only did after playing many hours in a row. Closing it all down and restarting and it would be perfectly fine again.
@@YCHTTyall finally understand that this woke agenda is real? We've been telling yall for years
Mine did stutter a bit in chapter 3 but restarting the game helped.
Studio originally had planned for 13 chapters instead of 6, two large DLCs incoming!
Also worth mentioning that the area vessel items can resolve your main issues with yellow wind sage and the daoist if you find them in the secret areas

you need relic on yellow wind sage and hundred eyes daoist, this is actually how the developers encourage players to discover hidden content, bosses become a lot easier when you have them, also those relive refers back to the actual lore
The things you hated about the Yellow Wind Sage and the 100 Eyeed Daoist are both solved by doing the secret areas of their relative chapters and using the item you get as a reward during their 3rd phase.

Did you know they use motion capture to get action from actual cats for this game? I know this after beating the Tiger Vanguard and can't help but think:"F**ked, my ass got whooped 30+ times by a cat!!!!"
But the cats have sword though. So they learnt Kungfu and I'm fine with it.
the stuttering is an unreal engine 5 thing with the shaders
if you launch the game on steam with -dx12 put in the launch properties and launch the game in compatibility mode it runs flawlessly, specially with frame generation
I started out with not much stuttering, but it started accumulating and getting worse over time. I stopped yesterday well into Chapter 3 because a combination of graphical glitches with snow and really bad stuttering was sucking the fun out of it. I’ll give your suggestion a try…

I'll never understand everyone's beef with Captain Wise Voice. He's probably the easiest boss in the entire game, yet everyone talks about him as though he was a nightmare to fight.
He is easy! Simple as heck. For me he was a big time let down boss .
I personally had lots of trouble with him, 20+ tries when before that I was getting most bosses within 5 tries, I guess my playstyle was just bad against him lol
He's not hard, just annoying... Shooting lasers and running away every time you get in melee range...
As for yellow wind monster, if you collected the secret treasure the third phase will be easy; same for the scorpion boss
Lacking in inclusivity and diversity that's a CON? I thought that would be in the nobody cares section.

In the novel, Wukong defeated yellow wind sage by borrowing the wind tamer vessel and the flying dragon staff.from Lin Gi Bodhisattva.
That's crazy man, I'm on ps5 and barely had any performance issues. It's weird that performance is different between ps5 players. I thought that would only happen on pc due to different specs and what not.
Anyway great video as always
Edit: good on you calling out screen rant and ign
If all the games are like BM Wukong I will not complain $59.99 each time at all.
In the game's version of Red Boy, his grudge is against the Celestial court, not the Bull Demon King. He's only staging a coup because he wants the relic and probably the kingdom's resources in a war against the Jade Emperor.
For chatter five, if you passed the rolling ball lane. Go backwards, some where there were flame now it’s empty, turn and there are 3 more bosses
I just love the way you speak and structure you video. I've never said this to anyone
Yellow wind sage is ez when u have the wind tamer its lore accurate too
id flip yaksha king and wise voice, wise voice was extremely simple but ig thats whats fun about these games everyone struggles with different encounters

I kinda forgot how stunning modern AAA can look. The combat has a ton of depth and feels great. The bosses are great. The game is overall punishing but fair and forgiving at the same time.
It’s just been a breath of fresh air.
maaaaan You are SO FUN :D This channel is gem for me!
The only reused enemies I can think of are the frogs (although with different abilities) and a skeleton-snake-neck-guai wearing blue garments, found in Chapter 1 and 4.
Im on my second playthrough on ps5 i've had no stuttering like what i see in this video, i have it on performance mode and it's been smooth the whole way through. Awesome game everyine needs to get this
most of the bosses that you didn't like fighting are actually designed to be that way, because you might find side quests that give you items or abilities that make fighting them easier. Ex. the tornados can be negated by an item that you get, yellow brow's gold armor can be hurt by increasing your attack from another spell you learn, and the hundred eye dude's 3rd phase can be canceled with a needle item that you get that flies around.
Yellow Brow's armor only needs one fully charged heavy to break it.

A lot of the areas and buildings are actual real places in China. The Devs used 3D digitization (drones & cameras).
In pagoda realm, there are mtfks like street lamp walking around, u need to defeat nine of them to cancel the half health bar effect!
Also the hundred eyes mtfk, there is a item from secret area called weaver needle or smt like that can counter the boss pharse 2!
Strangely, after turning off Ray Tracing, and following a guide (which I’ll post here later), I no longer have any stuttering.
The best literature in any video game ever. Elden Ring is not even close to its toe.
ye its a wonderful world
Doesn't really matter tho cause it gets crushed overall be elden ring. It isn't that replayable
Gotta point out the great backround music you chose by starting with the land of dragons music
id like to say this non white is under rated of a boss like that theme is so sick and the vibe of the fight where your fighting for your life against a crazy serial killer who freezes and poisons you
Been waiting for this one
@16:22 it’s almost as if the area boss was the same being that was doing that in the pagoda realm 😂
The princess and red boy are 2 different races. Both were wiped out though.
getting just 3 transformation is crazy
About Yaoguai and Xian
Though both have some supernatural abilities, Yaoguais are creatures who are of manace, while Xian are creatures who are benign. The Fox is an Xian who craves for human life, so she changes into a female human form, marry with male human, and have a baby, but the change pose certain fatal risk to her life.
17:19 what is the music playing here? it's on the tip of my tongue lol
07:02 you meant Vessels? cause relics are the magical items you got at the end of each chapter, represent wukong's ear, nose, touge, body, eyes, and mind
I cant believe you only have 7k subs, this vid was hilarious. you got a sub from me
I'm on ps5 and noticed that I didn't have the stutter in the beginning... It often happens in games after updates...
Funny that the issues with those bosses you mentioned can be redirected if you got the relic from secret quest/area of the same chapter, and for captain Wise-voice Gamescience seem acknowledged how annoying it was and nerfed it in recent patch

The stuttering on PS5 may be down the the frame-gen on performance mode. Try balanced, which is essentially performance mode without frame-gen.
I completed the game on PS5 with true ending last week on Quality setting. No issue.
When he learned the truth, he turned against Bull King for surrendering to the celestial court and sought a relic from him to take revenge.
