People went absolutely nuts in previous videos about Shannon not being in videos, it's crazy.

I hate that you have to deal with the negative comments and negative people when you produce videos for TH-cam. Many of us think the world of you and really enjoy following you and your life. Thank you for sharing with us.

You have to think of the channel as you running the channel, not the channel running you set a schedule set boundaries .
Yeah, you should set boundaries like not watching things that appear randomly and take up your time
Sadly some people can not respect that and think they have a right to every aspect of a TH-camrs life.
Appreciate your updating us Nate, so good to fill in the gaps. I do think most of your followers have grown to care about you and Shannon as fellow humans, I know I do. I applaud your choice to take a break and honor yours and Shannon's needs for space and your mental health. As someone in a similar relationship, I completely understand how it works. I love the fact that your relationship is secure enough that Shannon was able to try it out (TH-cam), decide it's not for her and was able to express that to you and you were able to accept it without bad feelings on either part. You have that rare sort of relationship that accepts each other as you are. Bless you for not trying to change one another. Keep on doing what works for you: both of you. But Shannon? I am glad I am retired and don’t need to make videos to fund my travels in a van. I have the greatest respect for those of you that do and I make an effort to leave a comment to improve your stats. I enjoy your travels. Everything else is not necessary for the fun of the van. Good for her for saying no and good for you for figuring it out.

Hi. 👋👋 I've been here since the Element. And I've sat on both sides of the fence. I've been one of the nosey finger-pointers who wanted to know what the hell was going on, and also I've wore the content creator hat a few times in my life and I know how it is. The thing that's different about you Nate, than 95% of the people on TH-cam, is your pure authenticity. There's no "camera Nate", it's just Nate. And anybody who has been here for as long as I have can tell that. You are the real deal. And when Shannon walked onto the "small screen" I don't think I'm the only one who stood up and whooped and clapped and hollered and shrieked because everybody immediately knew that two very unique people had found "their person". So it's not because we're being dicks or we're being nosey when we notice she's gone. It's because the worst parts of ourselves wanted to believe that the worst had happened and we were mourning. Because we know how good you two are together. And connections like that don't happen every day. Some of us go through our entire lives or a large portion of our lives without finding it. I was 49 when I found my "forever". The problem with the TH-cam medium -- and the comments section specifically -- is that it's a sterile environment. We can see your emotions and your passion on the video, but you can't always read the emotions behind our comments. I don't think any of us had any animosity towards you OR Shannon. Like I said, we just wanted to know whether to grieve with you or not. Because we feel like a part of your family. And speaking for all of us, I'm glad we don't have to. We care about you. We care about Shannon (even when it seems like we don't). Look at it this way. Think of all the obsessive fans shows like Survivor and Big Brother have. And they're what? 15 or 20 episodes? We have watched you for YEARS. And we are emotionally invested and we care. I'm sorry if sometimes care comes across in an uncivilized way. "You do you, Boo Boo." And we'll be happy with it. Thanks for the info dump! I think the hard part for creators who share so much of their lives is that it makes it really hard to then back off from being so transparent. People feel like they're REALLY a part of a person's life when they get let in in a way that feels "deep", even though it's probably only surface-level and highly curated. So changing that can feel like a shock. Wishing you and Shannon all the best!

Thanks for the update, Nate. You need to do whatever makes you happy and we will be fine knowing you are well mentally and physically. We love you and your videos. Just be happy and do some surfing. Surfing should be a great outlet for you. Shannon was a nice addition to the channel. Tell her we miss her, but definitely understand. It is not for everyone.

I think if your heart is no longer into making these videos, then you’re probably better off just stopping now, because if your heart isn’t into it will reflect into your future videos.
Nate as long as you're both happy that is the main thing. Personally I think Shannon is more of a business type of a person focused on that rather than doing videos. She seems to be real good at what she does and I respect her for that. At the same time will miss her. Excited for you that you have a job in Florida. Wishing you success at it. I too, understand how Shannon feels. I had a TH-cam channel with about 3,000 subs. And the anxiety I felt every time I had to step in front of the camera is real. Thank you and good luck. I will continue to watch.

Your first priority is your life. This means taking care of your loved ones as well as yourself. You are both great people and your videos are great. Shannon was awesome in your videos but she needs to live her life.

There is no demand on creators other than self. As a content creator I found it essential to stop the self demand of a production schedule because it became a burden rather than a joy. I'm waiting until the joy returns. Content suffers when pressure to produce becomes the focus

I say this with Love and Respect...I hear content creators say "I want to continue to make content for you all"...and I think...no lets be real you're not doing it for us...and you literally can stop at anytime...And again lets be real...we as consumers will find something to consume...
