I can’t still believe that Phill Collins sounded SO GOOD in live performances and playing the drums AT THE SAME time. Without losing breathing or missing the tone. It’s like listening to him in a studio version. It’s unreal.

Say what you will about Clapton, he's generous and shares the limelight with other performers in concerts. He recognises that a performance is a team effort and everyone works better together if they get a chance to shine.

No English dictionary has a proper word to describe my boy Phil's performance here.... "Beyond epic" does not even come close. As I have said so many times before, the time period where Phil sported the mullet, was arguably the one where most of his stunning performances had occurred. Already off the charts, during those particular times his performances were almost inhumane. The greatest drummer and a male singer with the greatest voice range of all times, bar none.

agreed - but turn it around a moment, too. Even if you _are_ phil collins.... think about it: You are playing your most iconic song ever, and you've got Eric Clapton backing you on guitars. Eric. Fucking. Clapton. A bigger legend in guitar than even you are in drums.... and he is helping you make what is literally the most incredible version of your top song in front of 40,000 people. My god - to have that moment in retrospect... :)

Eeboo, there is no need to feel jealous. I am 69 y/o and lived through that time. The music on this recording is as good as it ever was live. If you are young this can be as an exciting time for you as it was for me in the 60's. I and some of my friends were working to seek God and change the world to be a better place. You can do that now except listen to the old great music and not the new junk. I can't finish my thought so I will write a comment on what I just wrote.

To me, this is perhaps the most PROFOUND song I have ever heard.. It is so haunting, almost religious and sacred, intense, guitar power chords, heavy drums. The beginning chords themselves have an emotional effect, perfectly circular. The pause with backwards sound, then silence.. The echoes on some of the words.. He does this on Jimmy Fallon show with The Roots, he does some great vocal variations. He said on Jimmy Fallon, this song will long outlive him..
