As someone who owns 8 of these in different sizes … this does not take 5 dang minutes. It also doesn’t work with all 4 worsted weight. It works fantastic with a thin yarn. “I love this yarn” is one that is size 4 and works really good with these machines but if your yarn is rough feeling, it won’t work. You also need to keep up on the machine. Maintenance. You have to oil the teeth occasionally and each machine is literally different than the next. Some like some yarn, some don’t. You also need to learn the tension. You CANT just stick the yarn in the tension bar and go balls deep or you’ll drop stitches. Dropping stitches is horrific and irritating. You also knitted way too many rows for a beanie. That things going to hang off the top of the head like a dang balloon.
Thanks for all the in depth info about maintenance and how to use it properly! I never even considered the kind of maintenance it would need. As for the length of the hat she made, it all comes down to personal preference I suppose or maybe whoever she made it for has a slightly longer head lol idk
@ I recommend the Addi knitting machine! Best one that is out there. However it is pricy. If you’re looking for something to start with to see if you like it, definitely the Sentro. Sentro will be way more finicky than Addi but if you learn your machine it’ll work just fine for its price. The Addi is unmatchable though. The counter is better. The yarn tension holder is better. It’s smoother. So if you can afford that one, do that one!!
Ty for the info! What kind of oil would you use for the machine? I don’t have one yet but my elbows are starting to cramp from how much I’m working them by hand making everything😅
more like 45-60 minutes not 5. you have to go slow on the first few rows so there are NO dropped stitches. The drill attachment might make the rest of the rows go faster, but still you have to be careful of dropped stitches. good idea but not realistic.
Mine gets here Wednesday. I've got an insane amount of yarn from years of crochet, but as I get older, I'm looking for faster ways to make stuff. I want to combine the 2 and see where it takes me. So excited.
Only if it was that easy the machine has a mind of its own stated one machine drops stiches start over and over and over next day you might be able to make 1-10 lol it’s a love hat relationship
Not nearly as easy as that! Machines can be temperamental and not all machines like all yarns. You also need to go a bit slowly so you can catch and fix your mistakes. It's a lot of fun, a great hobby, but not quite as simple as you make it sound.
Thank you, girl. I’ve had one of these but the first row always got me. I did not know that you had to go in front and behind a peg so thank you😂😂😅😅😊😊❤❤😂😂😅
So yes and no. The machine itself can only knit, however you can make purls by basically dropping your stitches and using a crochet hook to pick it back up as a purl instead of a knit. I'm not sure how effective it is if you wanted to make a pattern using the purl bumps but I've seen people make ribbing by dropping a whole row and making it into purls.
I've made multiple sentro projects, and the only thing I've decided is worth it to drop stitches for is ribbing (though i prefer to hand knit the ribbing as it fits a lot better and is not NEAR as much of a pain to do). Doing things like seed stitch or any other decorated type of stitch pattern is hell, never mind colorwork ideas. It's only really a good machine for stockinette.
you might try getting some oil and some canned air to try and get it to work, i had good luck with that. also storing it in a pillow case to help with the dust accumulation
Feel like this is very misleading. We all know that won't be done in 5 minutes but there are so many things this video doesn't explain or expand upon. If I was a beginner, I absolutely would struggle with this tutorial more than I already did and it honestly would put me off of this machine, pattern etc.
Do you not consider it sewing if you use a sewing machine? You still need to thread the machine and know how to operate it. You need to have patterns to follow and know what material to purchase.

Question is there a particular brand of knitting mill machine you recommend? Or do you own 8 of this brand? Thank you

Truthfully, it takes a little longer than 5 minutes! But it is fun and a good feeling of accomplishment to do a hat quickly.
Ain’t no way that’s just 5mins
With the drill attachment it must be.
About 30m-1h, but still very quickly!
Definitely not.
I tales like 10 minutes
I have one and it takes 40 mins on average to do a kids hat (100 stiches)

how much was your knitting machine?
@@jenrich111I got nine of of Amazon for about £50 or 55 is dollars
It can drop stitches like crazy with the wrong weight of yarn😊
OH WOW!!! I WANT ONE!!! ❤❤❤
i have this. Im fast. Im experienced. Its not five minutes. Dont be silly
My thoughts exactly!
What is the name of this machine
Sentro.
Thanks you are an awesome teacher
Only if it was that easy the machine has a mind of its own stated one machine drops stiches start over and over and over next day you might be able to make 1-10 lol it’s a love hat relationship
you might be going to fast or using yarn that is too heavy for the machine. tension is also important in keeping the stitches on
Mine keeps dropping too. As well as not a full circle with the yarn.
Ooooh so i’m not the only one!!

Theres no way youre cranking out a hat in 5 minutes. 😆
Thank you, girl. I’ve had one of these but the first row always got me. I did not know that you had to go in front and behind a peg so thank you😂😂😅😅😊😊❤❤😂😂😅
How do I get the holes in between the threads to be bigger?
The tensioner in front. Put it on the looser setting
Wow love it!
I have never been able to do one without constantly snagging 😢
oh christmas is about to be sensational for my loved ones
Lovely if I could get my machine to cooperate
GOD BLESS YOU 🙏
Thanks so much 😊
E você tem como fazer um ponto diferente?
someone pls tell mee which one kniting machine size to make for beanie
Sentro on Amazon
46 or 48 pin machine to make hats
What size would you need to make an adult hat! I am using a 36 pin standard loom but fancy having one of these looms but the sizes are different.
46 or 48 pin for hats.
@ thanks for that. I’ve just made a hat on a 48 loom (manual) and it’s massive so was wondering if a ‘sentro’ 48 would be as big or come up smaller!
What do you do without a counter
You do it by eye and sob 😂😂
Can you create purl or knit stitch combinations? Or else it's going to become boring, for me anyway.
So yes and no. The machine itself can only knit, however you can make purls by basically dropping your stitches and using a crochet hook to pick it back up as a purl instead of a knit. Great tutorial
That’s why my grandma has
Any of these machines not a plastic toy?
What size is this one?
Price
Cheapest about $50
Can we make sweater also or only hats??
Most have the tubular or panel option. You could make a sweater combining those two
And I don't see how you pull it to the front like what do you actually do do you have to loop it behind or in front or wet
You tuck one end up the inside of the tube. And then tie each tail end together after you cinch them
How much is the machine?
A cheap one. About $50
A cheap one is about $50
Where can i buy it?
Temu / amazon
I think I'm the only one watching and willing to learn from this video in 2024..
I get so many dropped stitches on my machine
you might try getting some oil and some canned air to try and get it to work, i had good luck with that. also storing it in a pillow case to help with the dust accumulation
Yeah but what do you do when you pull it to the front I am about ready to throw this machine out the windowbecause I keep losing all kinds of stitches
Try a different yarn. Caron simply soft or a dk weight yarn.
Missing lots of steps. But that's my bad, should've watched a longer video.
Why is it so long
Im getting one for chritmas
It took me like an hour
30 - 60 min, not 5 minutes !!
Wow

That plastic machine is horrible. Buy a metal one.
❤❤❤
🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🤦
You didn’t knit anything. You used a machine.
Yes, it’s machine knitting. Still operated by a person though 😊 Not as easy as it looks, either 🥴😅
Do you not consider it sewing if you use a sewing machine? You still need to thread the machine and know how to operate it. You need to have patterns to follow and know what material to purchase.
STOP EAT
How about stopping being lazy and actually do it like I do
where did you get the attachment for faster
Amazon has drill attachments.
