The dog one is called heel work to music! They ended up in Crufts in 2022 and just stole everyone’s hearts- such a brillaint performance from a usually very stubborn dog breed
The dancers in green at 4:15 are preparing to perform the Sandpaper Ballet, most likely at the San Francisco Ballet. It's one of my favorites. The ballet is choreographed by Mark Morris to the songs of Leroy Anderson, who is most famous for Sleigh Ride (the Christmas song with the whip and the horse neigh at the end.) That's the song you hear in the background. The orchestra is playing it as the overture. The costumes were designed by Isaac Mizrahi.
That's actually the Kansas City Ballet! They performed this last season as part of their annual New Moves program. I recognized several of the dancers right away (particularly Joshua Bodden and Angelin Carrant who are two of my favorites in the company)
The shoes at 1:08 could be Natalia Osipova’s - she cuts her vamp and has a bunion hole exactly like that. You see her own stage and she’s the most ethereal thing ever and then her shoes look like they’ve been driven over by a combine harvester
The dancers rocking out behind the curtain made me laugh. I'm part of a theatre group and there's always an impromptu dance party on stage during the overture!
I attended my first ballet performance last week. It was Cinderella and it was wonderful. The music the dancing were so good. The step-sisters were hilarious. We went at 2pm and seeing all the little girls dressed up as princesses for the show was so precious. ❤
My dad gave me a “talking to” at a family reunion when I was a kid because I acknowledged my cousin’s dog, but not the cousin 😂 Apparently she was very hurt by it, so my dad told me that I have to say hello to the person BEFORE I can greet the dog. It’s been like 18 years now and I still greet the person, then the dog 😂
The lady with the chihuahua is participating in a real competition called "Dancing With Dogs". It's a real sport. Look it up because it's absolutely AMAZING! All different parings of people and their dogs doing all manner of dance!
I have not done ballet since I was like 4 (lol) but I did do modern dance in my teens and I just love these videos, the humor translates very well to other dancers and non-dancers alike haha.
7:58 🙋🏻♀️ I’m not good at choreography at the beginning of each session 😅 it takes me a little bit longer than the rest of the class because even with a mirror to see what I’m doing with, my self consciousness hits hard and then my mild dyslexia is activated 😂 I feel so bad for the rest of the group, I just started doing it at home by myself 💃🏻
Yes! That video was the KCB company. And I agree, Sandpaper Ballet was wonderful, but Cacti was on another level. One of my favorite dances I've ever seen.
omg I posted that tiktok of me trying on my old pointe shoes randomly like a year ago for fun and didn't expect it to blow up. I've only wore bloch pointe shoes for most of my career since my feet are so small and wide. I haven't done much pointe work since graduating high school in 2019 but I'd totally be down to get fitted by you if the opportunity arose. Thank you for sharing my tiktok💖
I love these videos so much !!!!! I give respect to ballerinas it’s not easy pointe shoes hurt believe me I know and DO NOT try them if you don’t know what your doing, one of the most painful things I’ve ever done 😢
The dancers in green are actually from Kansas City Ballet, from when they performed sandpaper last May! I used to do dance at their school, so I know some of the people at 4:15!
I'm taking a little local ballet class in January! any tips for stretches and overall dance advice, i took a ballet class when i was younger but didn't learn much
exactly 1:00 y’all know those are Natalia Osipova’s.! I haven’t continued watching yet, I was so excited 😂 I do wanna try her customs to see what they’re like since I’m 29 and I do adult pointe classes.. I can see some of hers being helpful for me, possibly..
I don't have the link to it but a video that came up on my for you tiktok page was a ballet dancer after her class surrounded by her fellow dancers, watching on in HORROR as the girl in question has to CUT herself OUT of her pointe shoe because the JET GLUE HAD MELTED INTO HER SKIN. Like it was almost fascinating once you got past the eldritch horror of it somehow melting during class but she was cutting apart her shoe with her box knife and having to just free her foot from the glued in prison. I hope someone else has saved a link to it because I think Josephine would have a delightful level of tortured horror in reacting to it XD
My last point shoes were Bloch, 3.5 XXX, I’d mostly worn 4 XX. I’m an adult 5 in the UK, which I think is a 6 US and I’m 5ft5. I don’t tend to think of myself has having small feet, but I have the same size as friends who as 5 inches shorter.
I remember starting the process of fitting my first pair of point shoes.... I was dancing beginning and advanced ballet at the same time. So I was prepping for point shoes in my first year.. 😜 Then my parents divorced and I moved to a tiny town without a dance studio... 😢 I got to dance in one recital/program -- The Wizard of Oz -- I was a winged monkey. 😂
I was going to say this is how I know Josephine is 100% American, because everyone knows the British use pounds in currency and stones in weight mostly right? 😂 Just a fact.
8:05 -- Can anyone tell me this piano piece's name? It may be just an exercise created by the pianist or the school, but I'd like to know if it has a name. Thanks, in advance!
Josephine- if there’s a dog I won’t pay attention to anything else Me, a pet sitter and doggy daycare attendant- gurl, I feel that 😂😂😂 they aren’t good quality since I just post for fun, but I have dog content on my channel if you need the cuteness 😂

Maybe you should check out more k9 freestyle and heelwork to music if you like dogs and dancing. 😉
Regarding the guy with the heavy shoes. You'd be surprised how well some heavy duty shoes can work XD I'm not a dancer, and I'm also disabled due to hEDS and I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user. I'm also strong as heck with pretty flexible feet (I'd probably break pointe shoes like there's no tomorrow if I was a dancer) and I do have shoes, especially winter shoes, where I can just roll up on tippy toes because the soles and shoes are just that supportive. It's of course not the same as a pointe shoe that is made for going on pointe, so you can't really "get over the box" in a pair of stable shoes, but still, you can totally get past demi pointe even as a non dancer in the right shoes. I do it sometimes to just stretch a bit, it just feels good in my feet along with properly using my muscles for a bit and keep my strength (little or no muscle atrophy even after over 10,5 years of being an ambulatory wheelchair user who's only really walking at home)
Hi I am never over the box on my pointe shoes even tho my teachers say I have hood and strong feet my teachers always make me get new shoes and change their options on diffrent aspects with every pair. It costs to much and I hate getting fitted for a different pair each time I’m frustrated and just fully convinced it’s just not being strong enough because I’ve tried almost every show I’m going to keep trying to get stronger feet but I don’t know what to do with my shoes. I really like baroques but my teachers said the vamp was too high so I got the smart pointes but I can’t get over the box! I have no idea what to do I just feel like giving up
The pointe shoes shown at the timestamp 1:06 are Natalia (Correct me if I got her name wrong) Osipova's dead pointe shoes! The bunion hole gave them away! Also one more thing. BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!! STOP INSULTING US FEMALE BALLERINAS!!!!!!!!!!!!
£=Pounds sterling, £180,000 = $224,159 at current exchange rate
I would say, knowing that the UK uses pounds should be expected. I was surprised she didn't know. She works in an international industry
Don’t. Be. Mean. To our. Josephine. EVER! @@IreneWY
@@IreneWY sometimes your brain just stutters and forgets things, it's not a big deal.
@@mollyapteros it's a video, an edited video. You can pause recording, look it up, restart recording... Very easy 👍
@@IreneWYWell she didn’t, sometimes you can expect your audience to not be immature and to understand not everyone is perfect. Just let it go.
The dog one is called heel work to music! They ended up in Crufts in 2022 and just stole everyone’s hearts- such a brillaint performance from a usually very stubborn dog breed
You being so delighted watching that tiny dog dance was everything! 🥺
all i thought of was that little moan at the start tho...
I was right there with her going “PUPPYYYYY!!” 😂
@Dragongirl590 I thought I was the only one..

They made me immediately think of Natalia Osipova too
The dancers rocking out behind the curtain made me laugh. I'm part of a theatre group and there's always an impromptu dance party on stage during the overture!
The pure joy of the dog dancing is so accurate tho😂😂😂👌👌👌
I attended my first ballet performance last week. It was Cinderella and it was wonderful. The music the dancing were so good. The step-sisters were hilarious. We went at 2pm and seeing all the little girls dressed up as princesses for the show was so precious. ❤
"You didnt get to explore other options" Only Josephine can make pointe shoe fitting sound really naughty...😂
Love seeing her react to nice ones!! Love when she offers to fit people she sees!
Vaganova is just incredible. Watching their exams is jaw dropping. I only wish there was better, and fuller, footage. I’d watch it all day!
There is an actual sport for dogs. I think it is called Freestyle and involved choreographed dances with dogs and owners.
I have the same problem: when I pass a dog in the street, I smile at the dog and forget to acknowledge the human. 😢
That's not a problem, that's the right way. Dog>humans
My dad gave me a “talking to” at a family reunion when I was a kid because I acknowledged my cousin’s dog, but not the cousin 😂
Apparently she was very hurt by it, so my dad told me that I have to say hello to the person BEFORE I can greet the dog. It’s been like 18 years now and I still greet the person, then the dog 😂
You say that like it's unusual........
Nah that ain’t the problem this is 0:14
Yeah, it's heelwork to music, it's a category at Crufts for example :) It's a joy to watch, and I do it with my sheltie too :)
2:22 im very sorry but my mom was like “WTF ARE YOU WATCHING” when you made that sound 😭😭😭

Dog dancing, aka "freestyle heelwork" is actually a Thing in dog competitions. It's something else!

The Blue and green outfit was Sandpaper Ballet. Saw Kansas City do it early this year, I think. It was great, but Cacti stole the show.
Yes! That video was the KCB company. And I agree, Sandpaper Ballet was wonderful, but Cacti was on another level. One of my favorite dances I've ever seen.

I'm currently outside with my service dog and breaking in my new Docs. Lol!
Are the two of you dancing Swan Lake?
Do you have any advice for performing en pointe. I have my first show en pointe this weekend. I would love your advice

Doc. Martins platforms do be heavy. That being said, They are really comfortable on point.
I go on point in my doc's all the time
And no cups this time hahahah did 27 broke the cup curse? Hahahahh❤❤❤❤
Dog ballet must become A Thing. 🥰👏🏼
The dog dancing bit is called Heelwork to Music!
Hi love your videos
“Whatever system matey use…” 😂??!!
As a non ballerina I also break in my docs like that💀
My studio director would always give a speech before every performance so one girl would always imitate her behind the curtain while we were waiting
I feel like this is a small thing to notice, but the pointe shoes Precious Adams was wearing looked so lovely on her!
I loved Doglake. I'd watch a full production of that.
she's back yay❤❤❤
I'm taking a little local ballet class in January! any tips for stretches and overall dance advice, i took a ballet class when i was younger but didn't learn much

I don't know how they do it, I feel a charlie horse in my arches threatening to cramp just watching them on point.

I was the mini Cinderella and I know all the scenes . Definitely recognised this one!
I know all the dancers ! I also danced with precious Williams xx
Love the guy breaking in his DMs
Hi Josephine, I hope this doesn't sound rude, but English National Ballet, being English, the currency is pounds. That was a pound sign.
I feel like I’m gonna break my feet while watching this
I want to know tips to become a ballerina, I’m a ballerina and have it gone on pointe yet

I think we should consider making the shoes custom made in metal 😂 (I know that’s not how it works but it would be interesting)
As a capezio wearer I am truly offended at 1:25. Like I don’t get it?? They’re not that bad 😭
