Nice review! One question, just something that occurred to me while watching it. We have never used or examined these types of stoves, but is there a chance that "drinking" spout is actually the pouring spout which means you wouldn't have to take the lid off? With the holes for the sieve up the other end, it would seem that it would pour out nice and even.

To me all day long it is a 'pouring spout' but on their information description they do actually call it a drinking spout and steam vent. Obviously you couldn't really drink anything more solid than tea or coffee out of it. MRE's or anything with a thicker consistency would need the lid lifted. Pasta boils really nicely in it too and I have used the 'steam holes' as a strainer too. Lol flexibility is the name of the game

The Highlander and the Range of Kelly Kettles are around the same price was wondering which you would choose if you could only use one (and why) ? Thankyou x

Hi. I would definitely take the highlander over Kelly kettle. Even the smallest Kelly kettle is larger than the highlander when compacted down into its sleeve. I love that the gas and pot stand fit within the boiling pot. Another good thing is that you can use the pot to cook MRE's, cans of soup etc OR put small saucepan on the supplied put stand where as the Kelly kettle only allows for water to boil in the actual unit and then have to use attachments for everything else. Being able to use tinder around is good for continous supply if wild camping for prolonged period of time but I just keep extra canisters of gas handy AND the pre ignitor means I dont have to worry about weather or forgetting lighter etc. Lol sorry I could go on......

Looking right now for an mk3 on amazon [ i am comparing the Highlander Mk3, the Alpin Loaker Stormkit Pro (seem that it is the same like the mk3) and the A.Blöchl AB-3 ], want to do short trails with my son... Can i put an 230g cartridge into the mk3 (not asambled). Hopefully my engl is good enough, i am from germany :-)

Hi, we have a 220g GoSystem cylinder which will fit diameter wise but will not allow the lid/drinking spout to close. Only cylinder we have which allows for cylinder and stand and burner to fit properly is 100g. I have used both Coleman and Decathalon own brand. Hope that helps.

How have you found the Fastboil a year on? Debating this or obviously the Jetboil.

Still using it every time we go out. Stayed over to do Stairway to Heaven a few weeks ago and was able to cook full fry as well as cuppa tea. Think it comes down to personal preference and whether you 'need' the cool waves on the side.

@@gingersirelandoverlanding8478 Well, with a £60 difference in price compared to the so called "Premium" brand, I'll give this a go :) I used to live on the Emerald Isle, always out and about around Glendalough, Co.Wicklow.
