Climax Brighton/BlackRock is such an underrated game developers! Hot Wheels World Race/ STTC, Crash n' Burn, ATV Quad Power Racing 2, Pure and off course, Split freaking Second.
I remember working on this game many years ago as an environment artist, building and texturing levels like the Bronx, Redwood forest, San Francisco, and most of the arenas, brings a lot of memories back! Great video 😎👌🏼
Istg, every video keeps getting better and better. The intro with the old TV was just amazing. I REALLY wanna try this game now... ...also yes, i had a great day.
Glad to see this game getting more coverage. Still love and play this game every once and a while since 2004/2005. Another great aspect of this game is the multiplayer. The official servers have been down for a while but I know people still play on unofficial PS2 servers with a full 16 player lobby.
I'll always have a soft spot for games with named AI like Crash n Burn. I remember playing this a TON and cursing the AI by their given names; it was awesome lmao
Crashday is the only other game I remember that had a Pass The Bomb mode - might be worth a video someday! And Kamikaze is something I would have loved to see in Wreckfest. Big Valley Speedway's Outer Oval Loop comes close.
this was such a great game, the OST in particular was great and has influenced my tastes in music ever since i was a kid your point about the emergent track design is something i never noticed but greatly appreciate about the game now that you lay it out
I appreciated your review of a racing game I amazingly never knew of until seeing your take on it here. Thanks for a informative profile, I am definitely adding this one to my original Xbox collection soon, my friend!
I love this game! An easy exploit to win the arena deathmatches is just standing still at the corner. The ai will only attack you if you drive or you are the last one left. xD
I remember having this game as a kid, but couldn't remember the name. Thanks for bringing it back up. The map where both teams met inside the tunnel was always fun as hell.
I got this game with my PS2 back then and I love it so much it. I had no clue what this game had to offer and it hooked me so fast... would love a remaster of that game!
I used to love the destruction details back in the day. I remember I had a cracked PS2 copy with an edited disturbing art cover. My entire gameplay was slamming all along the track edges that resulted of my PS2 getting crashed.
I never knew this was from Blackrock. I consider Pure and Split Second to be among the best arcade racers ever made. Crash N Burn was great too. Now i know why. I still play Pure to this day!
When I order an original Xbox last October, this was one of the 30 games that came with it. It is a great fun racer and more fun then most racing games that come out these days. 👍🏾
My mother gift this to me.. and I have still the original case ,the disc work perfectly and also the PS2 unfortunately who gifted me it is not anymore here 😢 I will love this gift forever 😢❤
You and me both! One of my favorites, actually 100%ing it again since a few days ago. For some reason it doesn't get old for me, almost on the same level as Burnout 3 and Revenge.
@Gamer Alex 1. Name your favourite need for speed games (5 or more of them)? 2. What’s your favourite car brand? 3. Do you have any faith on Hot wheels unleashed 2 - Turbocharged? 4. Do you still think the HW Unleashed is Good?
Damn, I wish there was more competition in the driving genre. I would like a Pure 2 or a new Crash Time 6. I have the Pure Original on PC and it's a lot of fun and better than Nail'd 🏍️
This is the game that i always wanted to play again. I had it when i was like 5 to 10, my mother bought it in 2019 but it was going through the intro and i was very sad. Wish again that i could it in the future. Is their a way to play this game now or not.
Og, PS2/Xbox or a PC Emulator would be my best guess. I've kept my PS2 and my copy so I still have it to this day. But I would like to play it on an emulator myself because newer TVs and monitors don't support old audio/video inputs.
Yea, definitely! Also, Crash 'n' Burn only came out 10 days after the first FlatOut. So, it's hard to pull inspiration from a game that just released 😆
How did you manage to capture such nice looking footage and where to you play it? I play Crash n Burn on Playstation 2 from time to time and it looks ok'ish but not even close to your footage. Nice video.
Funny how highly you speak of this game but you shit all over wreckfest!!! The unique game modes is about the ONLY thing i see that could possibly be better about crash n burn.
No, I did not 'shit' all over Wreckfest. Heck, its a game that I like as well, but I wanted to address my complaints I had with it. And I could have complained about Crash 'n' Burn's weak aspects as well, but I wanted to do something positive for once.
Childhood of mine, it needs a remaster
Agreeed
Sad that this game is not popular, It's the first game i've played in my life and will always have a special place in my heart

They made ATV 2?! So much nostalgia from that game.

How the ps2 compares to the xbox version ?
One of my favourite games of all time, it was so ahead of it's time in many ways. I genuinely think online races on this would be insanely fun, too.
Played the heck out of this awesome game on the PS2 ! Thank you for making this video on the game !
The cartoonish style and realistic mechanics of this game make it looks like those bloody homemade animations
Istg, every video keeps getting better and better. The intro with the old TV was just amazing. I REALLY wanna try this game now...

This game is now over 20 years old. I played it alot at my friends house. What an addicting, fun, time-killing memory.
I'll always have a soft spot for games with named AI like Crash n Burn. I remember playing this a TON and cursing the AI by their given names; it was awesome lmao
J. Macfee will always be my greatest Rival! Poor R. Childs always going out mid-bottom of the pack... The underdog I keep rooting for.
Crashday is the only other game I remember that had a Pass The Bomb mode - might be worth a video someday!
And Kamikaze is something I would have loved to see in Wreckfest. Big Valley Speedway's Outer Oval Loop comes close.
Crashday is another game I enjoyed. Not sure if I will cover it in the future, but it could be a possibility!
this was such a great game, the OST in particular was great and has influenced my tastes in music ever since i was a kid

i really like this video format, quick and simple, very cool game too

Really loved this game. Thank you for covering it!
I love this game! An easy exploit to win the arena deathmatches is just standing still at the corner. The ai will only attack you if you drive or you are the last one left. xD
I never heard of this exploit. Going to have to try it out!
One of my all time favorite racing games.
The Kamikaze Racing is the best fun race mode ever.
I remember having this game as a kid, but couldn't remember the name. Thanks for bringing it back up.
The map where both teams met inside the tunnel was always fun as hell.
That bomb derby mode reminds me of good old Destruction Derby RAW, definitely checking this one out. Great video!
I loved this game as a kid. Still got it on Xbox!

You can also make realistic vehicles too. 90s WRX, Civic EG, Golf, Charger, oh yeah, you should have talked about the banger soundtrack and sounds.)
Yeah, I've heard about certain parts from Crash'n'Burn's cars being able to somewhat replicate certain real cars when combined together.
It's funny because *technically* you can make a Mustang out of the Pickup... if you squint it's mint kinda way.
and Skyline too.
I never knew this was from Blackrock. I consider Pure and Split Second to be among the best arcade racers ever made. Crash N Burn was great too. Now i know why. I still play Pure to this day!

Might try it out for my ps2
My mother gift this to me.. and I have still the original case ,the disc work perfectly and also the PS2 unfortunately who gifted me it is not anymore here 😢 I will love this gift forever 😢❤
The PS2 online games are still playable through private servers. This game is included.
I would like to know how, it´s like MC3 and MC2?
i think im gonna have to get this on my ps2 emulator
Foi o melhor jogo que já joguei do ps2 da minha vida ❤
I played this game for so long that I still remember some of the enemies names and cars hahahaha
You and me both!
One of my favorites, actually 100%ing it again since a few days ago.
For some reason it doesn't get old for me, almost on the same level as Burnout 3 and Revenge.
I just wish the career wasn't as grindy, and actually included the arena gamemodes.
@@GamerAlexVideos Same feeling. Most people I know who tried the game didn't even know about the arena modes lol.
100% this game about a month ago. Was a great experience. Loved the racing hated the grind for cash.
Visually it reminds me “Demolition racer: no exit” on Dreamcast, isn't it?
this remains one of my top childhood games, how did you put the widescreen fix and which emulator and settings to look this crisp ?

Next review 3DO’s Crash n Burn😊
i played ts when i was 5 🙏

Huh, so it's basically a take on Destruction Derby. At first I thought it was akin to Flatout but that track design is definitely more akin to DD2.
Yea, definitely! Also, Crash 'n' Burn only came out 10 days after the first FlatOut. So, it's hard to pull inspiration from a game that just released 😆
@@GamerAlexVideos I genuinely forgot they released around the same time.

I ran the game on the PCSX2 emulator. I have it running on hardware mode around 4K for resolution.
thank you very much! @@GamerAlexVideos
Yes, it was a really great game. I liked it more than Burnout3. Real war on the road 👍.
spending hours to win the race just to customized my car, ahh the good old days
hiden gem this game!

Calm you're tits. He never shitted on your non-Flatout title. Holy shit
