Yonex Astrox 77 Pro vs Astrox 77 Badminton Racket Review

  • I review and compare the Yonex Astrox 77 Pro badminton racket against its previous generation model, the Yonex Astrox 77. This is the 4th generation/iteration of the Yonex Astrox 77 racket. Pros such as Fajar Alfian, Huang Yaqiong, Isabel Lohao, Man Wei Chong, Tee Kai Wun, Kim Ga Eun and Shittikom Thamasin uses the Yonex Astrox 77 Pro as their racket of choice.
It first came in Shine Yellow, Metallic Blue and Shine Red before ending up in High Orange with the current Astrox 77 Pro. The racket is extremely easy to use and is certainly a great all round badminton racket too.

Can't believe I missed this one!
Astrox 77 was one of my favourite rackets, ended up moving to the 88D pro (because of the ckyew hype). Picked up the 77 pro and oh my days it feels like I'm home. I think the 88D pro was just a tad too demanding for me. The 77 pro just feels so much easier to use, especially when under pressure, but just a little bit 'sharper' than the original 77.
I might just have to buy a second one as a spare!

I’m currently using Voltric 80 and I shifted to Yonex Astrox 88S Pro because of soreness on my shoulders. Now I’m looking at Yonex Arsaber 7 Pro and Yonex Astrox 77 Pro. Astox series are head heavy ones and Arcsaber are even balance ones. I’m used to head heavy ones but I’m looking at these rackets because both are Medium Flex, one of the things I’m looking at, Medium Flex. Saw reviews of these rackets and I love your reviews better. Some say that the Astrox 77 Pro are stiffer, none of them says it’s a medium flex except your review. Although all reviews said both rackets are easy to use or maneuver. I’m torn between the 2 but leaning towards the Arcsaber 7 Pro but I’m afraid that it’s even balance and the Power might be light and might hurt my shoulder because I might do a full swing. But if I choose the Astrox 77 Pro my shoulder can’t carry on with the head heaviness of the racket and still can hurt my shoulder as I might do full swings with it as well. And I have the Astrox 88S Pro and they are almost the same but the 88S Pro has a much stiffer shaft and slightly lighter head. And one review I saw said that he opted to go with the 77 Pro than the Arcsaber 7 Pro as it is the same Medium Flex racket but 77 Pro has more power and also said that both rackets are easy to play with. All I want is an easy to play racket for now. As to aid my shoulders first. And of course I have to choose 1 because of the budget. Any insights would be good. Thank you.

Thanks for the review CK Yew! I am wondering if there is a location code you prefer over others (i.e. JP/SP/UK/US/CD)? Or what was your experience with the same racquet from different location codes?
I use a AX77 shine red US-code and not too long ago I tried my friend's AX77 shine red (SP code); both were 4UG5 so should be same specs. The racquets were noticeably different in terms of swing weight and feel. My friend tried mine and also noticed this as well.
