    Mine worked somewhat differently. After several tries at this following this video, and the recovery program not even seeing the flash drive, although the computer could find it fine, I finally unchecked the check box, hit next, and it found the flash drive, asked if I wanted to format it, then asked if I want to make it a recovery drive. Windows 11 sure is an odd beast!

I tried this on different USB flash drives on a 64 GB and 16GB...and same error... So I can't get even to Choose Keylayout when I try to boot my usb to test if it works. Anyone know how to fix this and why would this occur? So I don't think it is a faulty USB but something to do with windows 11... weird...

    Looking for some guidance please help
    The scenario is that I have only 128GB of SSD in my laptop which is not enough for the softwares that I'm using so I want to expand the storage which is only possible by replacing the SSD, How can I create a full backup of my windows including all the important software from my university which are already paid for including windows 11 which is also paid and registered in the new SSD which I will install in my laptop. I want all the data and softwares to be in place when I install the new SSD
    Questions
    1) I have a high speed 128GB USB can I put all the data in it and duplicate it when I install the new SSD? If so, how can I do that?
    2) Should I do the cloning thing? I've seen many videos on TH-cam about cloning

    • @NorthernVikingEveryday
      @NorthernVikingEveryday  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You could backup all your files onto a flash drive and reinstall Windows. But My choice would be to do a clone of your SSD. I believe that Samsung SSDs have Free cloning software available that makes it quite simple to copy the entire drive over before installing it. Unfortunately I don't have a video on the topic but others likely do.

    • @eddy45686
      @eddy45686 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Samsung will only let u clone to Samsung drives and others to their own
      Use Macrium reflect free to clone to larger drive and select to fit whole drive when you copy partitions . Thus way your drive will be cloned and you will have it on all the larger drive not just 128gb and rest unpartitioned.

    I've got a Dell laptop that is dying and they are sending out a new unit in about a week. I followed direction on a video about "backing up Win 11" and then he said that this would be like a "computer image" file. Will this drive I'm making with your direction be the same thing? What I'm trying to do is save what I need to make sure I can get all my files and programs over to the new computer without taking it to the Geek Squad. Or should I just take to GS and be done with it?? Hard to get this very OLD brain to wrap around it all. Thanks!!
