Also when you cancel an emandate or autopay, it asks for upi pin, and then also it shows warning that you are transferring money, but money isn't deducted.
@@ammaarlaheri It works like that but it shouldn't. Asking upi pin for cancelling an autopay is justified. But the warning that you are transferring money is confusing. I myself got confused when I was cancelling an autopay. It also showed the amount for which autopay was setup. So if you're cancelling an autopay of 199 per month, then the amount of 199 will be shown and warning will appear that you are transferring money. But actually you are not. The autopay gets cancelled after you enter upi pin and the money is not deducted.
I was scammed once saying that I will be offered a job of Rs 13000 per week by just writing some books that will be sent to me. They charged Rs.1000 and told that it is valid for only 10 mins, so I booked my chance immediately and never got anything back from them after the payment. Bank isn't the one freezing your account. Their cyber cell gets informed by police that this scam happened kindly help recover the amount. So they start freezing accounts that money got transferred to and accounts that scammer sent money to.

Appreciate the effort by the zero1 team, but these are pretty basic scams, that I assume many people know of already. Would love to see more complex scams in part 2, 3, ... so many scams happen in india that it can become a series of its own 😅
2:21 i'm not sure but this can also work in another way where the scammer actually credits the money to your account, you check your account and then send him the same amount back. He will then approach his bank and tell them to revert the transaction saying it was a mistake. So now, you lost all that money out of your own pocket. Again, i'm not sure if he can approach his bank for this, so correct me if i'm wrong.
The Netflix scam happened with me. I was too lazy to respond to the fake autopay request (because I already have autopay set up that requires no manual intervention). I thought ki agar subscription khatam ho bhi jaye to baad mein dekh lenge. Got saved due to laziness 😅
No, upi pin is also used to CHECK balance as well People need to be educated about the little message below whether they're sending money because while checking balance the message never pops up
The functionality of asking money from other users is the root cause of the majority of upi frauds. If this is removed, scams will be reduced drastically.
