In 2004 I was Deployed to Iraq and I used to listen to Bob Marley almost everyday. Listening to him help keep my compassion, empathy and not become callous to the pain and suffering around me.
Jay & Amber, you'll love his "Could You Be Loved", "Buffalo Soldier", "Jammin' " and "Get Up Stand Up"!!!! edit - Bob's wife Rita was in a group called the I Threes who often provided backing vocals.
"No Woman, No Cry" might be the first song I've looked for a reaction from you guys that I haven't found! You really should hear it if you don't already know it.
This was filmed in the UK when we were finally realising there is only 'One Love' after years of strife. Bob Marley and other reggae and soul musicians brought young people together. In clubs and pubs they danced to the music and realised they had more in common than differences. It mattered!
" ...Jah provide the bread..." Jah is the Rastafarian God who pops up in a lot of Bob's songs, he was a very spiritual guy. " One Love" is basically a reggae hymn!
Bob Marley was more than an entertainer, he was the voice of the poor and oppressed!! Songs like "Concrete Jungle", "War", and " Redemption Son" and of course " " Get Up, Stand Up" which became the anthem of Amnesty International!!
I can tell you he was and still is all over the radio in Hawaii. I work construction and when Bob comes on the whole job site sings along . He makes you remember what is important 🤙😁
Hi guys, I love Bob I saw him live in concert when I was 16 I’m 60 now 😱 he was amazing it was the best concert so much fun. ❤️ keep on rocking guys love your work 😘
I always think this is one of the most romantic songs ever recorded. The simplicity of the line, “we’ll share the shelter of my single bed, “ that always gets to me.
You’ve started down the bob marley rabbit hole-you have to gander into 3 little birds, no woman no cry, all his songs are amazing! Also try third world! They are reggae artists found by Stevie wonder….
My favorite line “we’ll share the same room, Jah provide the bread” Him saying “I’ll shelter you, keep you safe, provide for you, and completely love you in every moment of forever” in that simple beautiful line ❤❤❤
Bob Marley isn't just a musician and a humanitarian HE WAS MAGICAL. he really was he saw the children as the ones who can heal and correct the World, we must protect the minds of our babies
One Love Three Little Birds Redemption Song Bob has many amazing songs. This was from his 1978 album Kaya. The video has Naomi Campbell at age 7, her first public appearance. This song was rumored to be about Tina Turner. Great vocals, masterful instruments made this a big winner for Bob. You can almost feel the island breeze in your hair. Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️ 🇨🇦 🇨🇦
Being a teenager in the '70s, we listened to Pink Floyd and Supertramp. Then some Jamaicans moved into our neighborhood and we discovered Reggae! We were young and didn't understand the struggles they were going through back then... shame that 50 years later, the same struggles are fought by so many people. You guys will love "Jamming", "Exodus", "Could You Be Loved", just to mention a few...
You should check out Jimmy Cliff for another legend of the 70's Reggae scene. "Many Rivers To Cross", "The Harder They Come" and "You Can Get It If You Really Want It" are absolute classics.
When I lived in St Thomas in 1999, Bob Marley was a must to hear everywhere. It just gets you moving and in a great mood. Reggae in general is a good vibe. I think everyone loves him for the respect he gives and recieves. Bob Marley music will never die.....
Please Desmond Decker and the aces: "Israelites" is a song written by Desmond Dekker and Leslie Kong that became a hit for Dekker's group, Desmond Dekker & The Aces,[2] reaching the top of the charts in numerous countries in 1969. Sung in Jamaican creole, some of the song's lyrics were not readily understood by many British and American listeners at the time of its release.[3] Despite this, the single was the first UK reggae #1 and AMONG THE FIRST TO REACH THE US TOP TEN (peaking at #9).[4] It combined the Rastafarian religion with rude boy concerns,[5] to make what has been described as a "timeless masterpiece that knew no boundaries".[6]
Right -- it had a LOT of radio airplay in America. My father actually loved that song -- and he was an old-school guy who didn't like much radio music. It's a great song done in the "Rock Steady" style of reggae.
Jay & Amber, this is why I love you: your mission to spread love through music around the world. 🙂 The universal message of Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds" will resonate with you.
Bob Marley need to be played as loud as possible on any audio equipment when i play his songs either in my car or home i make the windows shake.. and have a feeling of pure joy.
can't ever go wrong with Bob. I would love you to react to, 'Say Hey I Love You' by Michael Franti and Spearhead. You finish the song with a smile and good feeling
This song was written for Cindy Breakspeare. Many of us suggest Get Up Stand Up which was written with Peter Tosh who was in the original Wailers with Bob and Bunny Wailer. I also highly recommend Peter Tosh's Stepping Razor and Legalize It. And for me, the deepest song Bob wrote, Redemption Song. There are so many Bob Marley songs you can do almost any one and get a great song. A couple more I like are Coming In From The Cold and Real Situation. To discover a whole bunch more great reggae artists I recommend the soundtracks of the films The Harder They Come and Rockers!. Artists like Jimmy Cliff, Desmond Dekker, Junior Murvin, The Mighty Diamonds and more. Also Black Uhuru, World Is Africa. And Eek A Mouse Wah Do Dem.
They definitely gotta check out Dennis Brown. While Bob Marley is definitely the world’s favorite reggae artist, Dennis Brown might be Jamaica’s favorite
“Is this Love” is the purest most crucial love song of all time. The picture he paints is love in its most basic and honest form. “We’ll be together, with a roof right over our head, we’ll share the shelter of my single bed” that lifestyle feels like luxury with the right person. The fact that Bob romanticized humility with all the money in the world, his videos were all just real footage of kids and adults sharing vibes and love. Kids of every race was so important to Bob to capture, for he himself was biracial in a time that was very divisive. Bob was our real messiah, as close to Jesus as one could get, his love left a deep impact on the world and still fills us with good vibes and love to this day, decades after his passing
I wore out my cassette of Bob Marley back in H.S. In the 70’s. My favorite was “Jammin” Later on I came to luv “Redemption Song” cause hey, “we got to fulfill the book”!
This fact that Bob Marley once walked among us automatically made the world a better place! I suggest you check out his songs "No Woman No Cry"; "Redemption Song", "Buffalo Soldier" ;"Three Little Birds"; "I Shot the Sheriff" (which was covered by Eric Clapton) ; "War"; "One Love"; "Soul Rebel" & "Exodus". His son Ziggy is also a very talented artist. You should check out his songs "Tomorrow People"; "Love Is My Religion"; "True to Myself"; "Personal Revolution" ;"Dragonfly" & "Wild & Free".
God I miss Bob Marley! Please, please please react to his Three Little Birds! (Also, No Woman No Cry and Get Up, Stand Up and Redemption Song and Buffalo Soldier and and and......)
Marley was an incredible artist, a visionary but you dont have to believe me you can go to almost every country and they can tell you how great his music is. You guys should check out "No Woman No Cry", Redemption Song", "War", "Who the Cap Fit"," One Love", "I Shot the Sheriff", "Satisfy My Soul", "Small Axe" and many, many more...
Reggae was a huge thing in Europe in the 1970ties and 80ties. And it still is quite popular. Futher suggestions: Jimmy Cliff "The Harder They Come " Desmond Dekker "Israelites" Stevie Wonder "Jammin'"

You guys gotta get around to Jonny Lang soon. He was 15/16 when his first album come out back in the late 90s. The first big hit he had was Lie to Me which is the one you gotta check out. He’s a blues/soul/rock & even gospel type singer.

The remastered version of the original Legend greatest hits compilation is rightfully one of the biggest selling albums of all time. (There is a version that switches the singles to album versions, which are often lesser mixes.) Legend has sold 12 million copies in the US and 25 million worldwide. I believe it's the biggest selling reggae album ever. This song is flawless, and the production is pristine. There is so much in there, and you can hear it all. It sounds effortless. It is recorded joy. Though the misheard lyrics I thought he sang are actually sweeter than the actual lyrics. "We'll share the shelter Of my single bed" I thought it was: "We'll share the shelter Of my single name" Random note. The female singers are The I-Threes. Rita Marley (Bob's wife), Judy Mowatt, and Marcia Griffith. You are absolutely familiar with her. In 1983, she recorded a cover of a Bunny Wailer (formerly of Bob Marley and the Wailers) song called "Electric Boogie." It was remixed in 1989 as......"The Electric Slide." There is no way you haven't danced to that.
I recently suggested a song by this band called "One Love" I was hoping it would pop up but this one works too do that one next And I absolutely enjoy interacting with the public I even enjoy conversing online being sociable is offering hands of friendship and it's a noble and heartwarming gesture
"Stir It Up", "Three Little Birds", "One Love"...these are some of Marley's songs that carry the same transcendent, almost spiritual quality that characterized the Rocksteady music that reggae grew out of..."Sweet Sensation", "It's My Delight", "Rivers of Babylon" by the Melodians..."Many Rivers to Cross" by Jimmy Cliff..."Israelites" by Desmond Dekker..."Freedom Street" by Ken Boothe..."Gave You My Love" by Delroy Wilson...
Bob Marley songs: War, Buffalo Soldier, No Woman No cry, Lively up yourself, Redemption song, Small Axe, I shot the Sheriff (stolen by Eric Clapton), Concrete Jungle, Get up, Stand up. To name a few.
Lively Up Yourself is an amazing Marley song.Simmer Down is energetic with great horns. I’m Still Waiting is a sweet, slower paced one with an early 60’s vibes.
Bob's best album is arguably 1974's "Natty Dread", his 7th album and the one that many Americans, myself included, introduced us to Bob. The album was ranked #181 on the 2003 Rolling Stone list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. The best-known track on the album is "No Woman, No Cry" a gorgeous tune that was a staple of every Marley concert. Probably the most influential reggae album of all time is the 1972 movie soundtrack album "The Harder They Come". Best tracks on that are Jimmy Cliff's "You Can Get It If You Really Want", "The Harder They Come", and from Toots and the Maytals, "Pressure Drop", and "Sweet and Dandy." Great cuts all of them.
I saw Bob Marley in 1979 or 1980, in Toronto. One of my top 3 concerts of all time! (and I’ve been to 100’s). I never knew there were that many coloured folks in Toronto! I looked around Maple Leaf Gardens, and could only spy the odd white face! It was the first time in my life I got an inkling of what it’s like to be a minority! But…..black or white, we passed the “dutchie” to the left hand side! (and the right, too) Peace
Tragic that Bob Marley died of melanoma. What a great artist and humanitarian. He drove a BMW and used to joke that it stood for Bob Marley & Wailers. Now for my reaction request. Please react to Benjamin Tod singing Using Again. Tod spent much of his life hopping train cars and traveling around the country, as well as battling alcohol, heroin and other addictions. Those experiences and then coming clean infuse his songs with a really personal quality.
Soul Rebel, Natural Mystic, Redemption Song, Could You Be Loved...so many. Fell in love with reggae back in 1991 in california when i worked for some jamaicans. Steel Pulse, Black Uhuru are good bands too. Reggae music is supposed to uplift, it is a staple of rastafarianism religion. Whenever I need to to put my soul in a better place, reggae is the music i go to.
You can't go wrong with any Bob Marley song, but having said that, you really should've started with "No Woman No Cry" "Three Little Birds" also is a must listen to. That song just puts a great start to your day. And "Redemption Song" is so powerful.
All of his songs are so good. I wore out his CD. Dont worry being a fav. Please keep playing more. ❤ and as always, many thanks to you guys. Love this family. Amber you once again nailed it. Reggae is 🔥OneLove for his next one. ✌️ ☮️
No serious Classic Rock, Pop or Blues fan who built a record/CD collection back in the day could call their collection complete without owning Bob Marley's "Legend" album. It IS his greatest hits package. It's the best way to have the greatest representation of Reggae music just by owning 1 disc. There are so many other great Reggae records but none with as much passion and power as Bob's. If you ever see one of the concert videos be sure to notice how clean the performances are. Bob was a perfectionist. Once you get through the "Legend" record next would be going for "Deep Bob". You can start with the boxed set "Redemption Songs". You will discover many great tracks that many people overlook especially the "Early Bob". Tracks like "Mr. Brown" and "One Cup of Coffee" are rarely heard gems in America.
In 2004 I was Deployed to Iraq and I used to listen to Bob Marley almost everyday. Listening to him help keep my compassion, empathy and not become callous to the pain and suffering around me.

Loved the end with Bob dancing on the sidewalk leading the people!
You can't help but feel positivity and love when you listen to a Bob Marley song!!
He had a beautiful soul and he put it into every song he sang!!
❤️
One of the most influential artists of all time,a poet singer and philosopher,a real celebrity that conquer the world..
(and the right, too)
Peace
Was never a B.M. fan but this was a great song, really enjoyed it!
Such a beautiful soul....
Love this song, so much.
You can't go wrong with any Bob Marley song, but having said that, you really should've started with "No Woman No Cry" "Three Little Birds" also is a must listen to. That song just puts a great start to your day. And "Redemption Song" is so powerful.
This music always brings a smile to my face. Such a chill vibe and a positive message.
We blast it every summer, in the car with the sunroof open! COULD YOU BE LOVED and 3 LITTLE BIRDS are also Bob Marley MUSTS!. Enjoy!
Three little birds is a great song from Bob Marley, my personal favourite
His family expressed that though his message was love. He wanted people to be free from the system.
Jay, "Natural Mystic' has the heavy base that you're looking for.
All of his songs are so good. I wore out his CD. Dont worry being a fav. Please keep playing more. ❤ and as always, many thanks to you guys. Love this family. Amber you once again nailed it. Reggae is 🔥OneLove for his next one. ✌️ ☮️
Next….One love ✌️
Simply the best reggae artist, ever. So soothing
I cry everytime i hear this song ❤🎉
I seen Bob Marley and the Wailers in the late 70's. It was an awesome concert with the most amazing blue smoke of all types of smells.
"Jammin" another feel good tune
"Could You Be Loved", "No Woman, No Cry", and "Buffalo Soldier" are must hears as well as many others.
