Not implementing the request stop system on the Arosa was a massive opportunity missed. I am maybe one of many who bought that DLC, wanting to try that new experience.
Concerning your rant on the BR 204: As someone who had the pleasure to operate this loco IRL eventually as an associated heritage rail engineer many moons ago, I can confirm that this rendition is spot on in almost every aspect! You may find the central cab unusual, but here in Germany it is very common for midrange Diesels up to 1.200 hp. The elevated and unobstructed viewpoint is very nice when shunting. Due to its modernisation in the 1990s, the instrumentation in fact is a quite odd mixture of analogue and digital instruments, and the digital speed readout of the PZB90 is absolutely authentic. Same goes for the Diesel sound: That's exactly how this engine sounds like! Especially when idling. As far as I'm concerned, there's only one thing missing: Because of the turbo lagging, the real thing spat out large plumes of black soot when the power ("Fahrstufen") was applied to soon and impatiently. My old driving instructor always insisted on incresasing the power one notch after the other with quite some time waiting on each step to allow the turbo to speed up and supply enough air for combustion. I really like this rendition! Brings back nice memories...
FYI: Just found some nice footage of the pre-modernised 204 (as DR BR 202) in its natural habitat: th-cam.com/video/qeOla122gKk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SY6Y4KArUflDS2jk
Theres something i absolutely love about your channel and you reviews, you're not afraid to speak you mind no matter who/what criticizes you. What's ironic is that this mentality is needed since APPARENTLY a lot of people will throw riots if you don't like certain things or dare i say I say it give constructive criticism. It's really pathetic of this world, and word of note when TSW 4 was released the 1938 TS received an updated soundset. But the point is you yourself is also a good role model for people, it's such a shame how people let others intimidate them
I've seen enough of Brett Cooper's show to know that there are loads of people who always have a bone to pick with something, regardless of whether or not it makes sense. Indeed, her sheer honesty has been a big influence on me and my review style.
Yes, yes and yes. But I will wait and see what the UK route that Rivet are making is like before making my decision to buy it or not. But the bigger issue is of course the DTG/Focus Entertainment gravy train. You really should consider doing a rant about said gravy train and how it impacts TSW
yeah DTG also lost a customer with me. IDK i quit liked playing the game when it was still called tsw2. But something changed and I don't feel like dtg/rivet cares about customer like me who loves accurate, fun, "made with love" simulation anymore. I am going back to playing actually good sims like MSFS, DCS, ETS or heck any other sim. This money scam dtg is pulling off has to stop !!
Congratulations on the mention from Brett! It’s always a great feeling when you’re being noticed by your favourite TH-camr/role model! May I know when exactly she mentions you? Thank you
Around 33 minutes into the stream. I'm not letting this go to my head, because Brett's not a friend or anything like that. She's just a TH-camr and I'm just a fan; that's all.
Completely agree with everything you've said I wish I hadn't bought some of rivets stuff like wcl E to G and the steam add on for wcl but haven't bought any of there products since and refuse to unless they sort there products out
Better off playing Rivet's TS Classic routes than what they are producing for TSW...seems they are still in the learning phase with the later. Both DTG and Rivet are stuck with having to get something in the store before the production costs outweighs what they will make in sales, which is why we keep seeing these ridiculously short routes or final destinations well short of any logical destination (not just in TSW either, Rivit's Gothardbarn on TS Classic is an example)
Thank you for this video. I enjoy hearing your extensive knowledge of different classes of engines and routes. "Vote with your wallets" I totally agree! I won't buy ANY DLC unless it is steeply discounted. 10% doesn't cut it anymore. Keep up the great work!
I REALLY Want the full Island Line made in 1977 with both the class 485 & class 486 in BR Livery and the shuttle service from Ryde Pier Head To Ryde Esplande and NO Smallbrook Junction station (1990s)/Lake station (1987).
The real problem is lack of competition and, although this is not a real issue, the target audience is casual gamers who are not real experts in the rail scene... this lets pass the shitty physics and repetitive gameplay... For me the worse part, it's the refusal of the developers going outside the usual countries, it completely kills the game for me... I couldn't be bothered moving from Train sim some-parts-of-the-world 2... every new route just feels "same-ish".. Love you videos thought, cheers for the other side of the World ;) (Portugal/Luxembourg)
Understandable that you didn't want to do a full review of the Kassel to Würzburg route. Its long and really not that interesting to actively pay attention to it. But i would love to hear your thoughts on exactly "why" you aren't interested in it at all. I am new to the rail commiunity so i actually thought it was quite good because its that long. xD And if i may request something, it would be a review of the Linke Rheinstrecke Mainz to Koblenz because its my home route, so i had to buy it. But i understand that its expensive and you don't so.. maybe if theres a sale someday? Would love to see it because you speak with so much enthusiasm and knowledge (seems that way to me at least) that i really value your opinions. You can criticise the stuff that i don't know sh** about or don't yet have the eye for. 😅
The reason why I don't like Kassel to Wurzburg is because of just how boring it is. It's only got three stations, and most of the drive is spent rushing through long tunnels or across tall viaducts; there's not much in the way of scenery or service variation. To be fair, I still think it's impressive that DTG made a route that's over 100 miles long. Or at least, it would be impressive if the route was non-linear and you could do loads of different jobs on it (instead of just fast passenger trains or freight trains at night). As for Mainz to Koblenz, I've already got that route (picked it up during the Steam Winter sale, I think, although it's summer in the southern hemisphere). But I haven't had enough experience on that route to make a full review.
@@DC4260Productions The Schnellfahrstrecke is boring because the real route doesn't have any eyecandy as well. It's frankly a sequence of noise barriers, tunnels and high bridges over scenic valleys. Nothing to write home about. As a passenger, I know this route quite well, especially the part between (Hildesheim / Abzw Sorsum-) Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe and Fulda. Both station's look and feel is depicted quite accurate, even down to the powerline mast towering above one of Fulda's platforms. It's a shame that all of Fulda's branchlines, especially the Vogelsbergbahn to Gießen (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gie%C3%9Fen%E2%80%93Fulda_railway) was left out. Instead of the Niddertalbahn (which I really like), their depiction could have led to some nice traffic schemes. As for the ICE 1: The BR 401 IRL develops a distinctive low-frequent growling above 160 km/h and its soundpack reflects it quite good. All in all: A boring route's accurate rendition!

I have little experience with Rivet's TSC add-ons, apart from Suburban Glasgow Northwest. I will be reviewing their Engadin Line route at some point, to see how it holds up compared to their TSW products.
I agree with you about Rivet’s quality. I was extremely disappointed with WCL having known the route since 1954, it is totally ludicrous in terms of accuracy and more like a fictional fantasy effort. They have no desire to correct it and I believe that the reason why is that they are not able to!!! Their designs on routes since have all missed the mark. Where they can replicate stations and locomotives well, they are just so unable to produce a quality route.
Me too man, it's a joke how they release different locomotives when it should be included in the dlc route but which is really sad how the routes feel so rushed and cut off quickly produced which is insane the train sim 4 dlc shouldve been extended to either London or York/Newcastle the thing is the London commuter was a great dlc package when it came out and the Blackpool dlc was okay too just the trains set within the 80's/90's era but it wasn't my cup of tea but a good dlc I'll admit
I stopped at tsw 3 and was waiting for a good US route. Now im watching as TSW X is crashing and burning. I really left the community due to the fan boys. One thing that annoys me with dovetail and rivet is a new route with only one new piece of rolling stock, like it’s lacking and makes the experience of the route boring. Oh and the reissue of the 66 every route drives me nuts like where the 67, 68, 56, 57 and the 86/87 for wcml
Yeah, I agree. It's stupid to almost always see only one locomotive or unit included with a route these days (and DTG are maintaining the status quo with Gospel Oak to Barking Riverside, because of course they have to do that).
