Based on the community poll earlier this week, many of you are studying a lot but are having trouble with focus/tiredness - so I hope this helps :) as usual, leave a comment below and I’ll do my best to reply!
this is crazy because i JUST was studying for my exams and felt burn out and was questioning how i could study effectively and literally the same moment i come across this video answering my problem.. thankyou sm
Ahaha honestly, it's a big issue we face as students especially during exam season - glad to hear the video came up at the right time, and good luck for your exams :)
Thank you sir!!! You really delivered 🔥🔥🙏🙏 it’s good to know that smart people are still making videos. I just can’t stand people who would say something like “just study”, and then they won’t let you say anything back. Thank u sir!!
Glad you liked it - I hope it helps 🙌🏽 ahaha I try my best to give advice based on things that worked for myself or people that I know, to make sure that it's genuine!
This really helps out! Thanks for the amazing video
Glad it helped!
thank you very much salim!
You're welcome, I hope it helps!
Bro i thank you so much for showing us tactics on how to actually improve. I thank God i found your channel. Thanks to your popular video (the 1254 words video) which i just started implementing in my life ,I feel like its safe to say I am actually (finally)improving my study habits. As i am typing this right now, am literally downloading more of your videos (this one included) to better myself ,may God bless you. 😊😊😊😊
What makes me happy is hearing that you're actually using the strategies I mention - the active input you put in to improve is very nice to hear! Appreciate the support, and I hope I can continue to put out useful videos :)
I am not a uni student, aim to be a med student one day but just a tenth grader at the moment, trying to manage all my subjects....Reason i clicked on this video is because am studying SST and its SUCH a dry subject that no one is willingly studying it(including me) but i keep trying to gaslight myself into studying it. Rn its summer holidays and i aim to put my max. efforts and go a bit ahead of my teachers as later towards our pre-boards we will get less time. So far from 40mins of focus i improved till 80mins. I seriously want to aim for more than 2hrs of focus(hopefully i do) and thus thank you so much for this video! Its a life-saver!
Ahahaha yeah some subjects are just completely boring sadly, but have to push through! Hoping that you can improve focus over time, and remember a slow and steady increase is the way - all the best and I hope my videos can help!
Thanks a lot for great study tips yet again, I really admire your ability to manage these things while studying.
Also, keep uploading, you’ve already hit a million subs, Just that it hasn’t yet been delivered to this physical world. Haha
For sure takes a lot of time and I'm still trying to find a balance, but I'm glad you appreciate it and find it helpful!
Ahahaha love the support 🙌🏽 one day it'll be delivered 💯💪🏽
As a new 1st year medical student, Salim you are literally godsend. Amazing stuff man, keep it up genuinely
Genuinely appreciate the kind words 🙌🏽 hoping that I can keep up the useful content - all the best with med school!
I am also a medical student and your videos are so useful
I'm glad to hear it!! Good luck with med school :)
Your tricks are just awesome 😎
I hope it helps!
Great video
I hope it helps!
Thanks!
Thanks for the Super - I hope it helps!!
@@Salim_Ahmedthank you ! Your videos have been helping me a lot !
It's finally here!!!
Ahaha good to see you again - i hope it helps!
Got a question though. That first strategy where I need to set a deadline to stop studying and give myself an active rest, did u do the second active rest after the deadline or it depends on how I'll manage it?
Yep, so if i had a deadline to stop studying at 10pm, I'd then do the next active rest right after (like practice the piano). I think another important thing i didn't mention in the video for the sake of being concise is that, make the deadline somewhat 'tight' and not too far into the end of the day - otherwise you might end up procrastinating a little bit before the deadline as you've done what you had to do / finished early.
Hey!
Can you make a separate video on how to manage your time efficiently
Already have a video on this ahaha, has time management on the title - i hope it helps! I'll also have an exam season study routine video out in April
@@Salim_Ahmed Oh Thanks!
I recognize the song at the end ! It's the official piano arrangement for the Besaid Island theme of Final Fantasy X. I suppose you played it then.
I wonder how and when you transitioned from a gamer on a game over 20years old to the discipline behemoth you built your channel on.
Yes it is! Still a gamer now too ahaha but i try my best to stay on a path of self-improvement and manage my time well!
I hope my videos help, and thanks for engaging :)
Do you have tips for mmi and interviews ? I got waitlisted to UC Davis vet school and I don’t think I’ll get in this year but hopefully I can get in next year ! They use mmi style interviews
It's been many years since I've had my interviews, but the most impactful thing you can do is just keep on answering questions! This website has a lot of good questions for free - ollieburton.com/feed-articles/2017/8/31/medical-interview-question-bank
And he's also got a youtube channel with the same name with videos that might be useful for interview prep! Whilst i think they're med school oriented as opposed to vet school, a lot of it can be adapted. But in any case, my biggest tip would be to just keep doing questions, and if there are 'common' questions, have an answer memorised and ready for the interviews (which is what I did). Build a good structure too, like try to follow a point, evidence (your experiences), explanation (what you learnt + how it's impactful upon reflection) for relevant questions. Good luck :)
@@Salim_Ahmedthank you !
@@Salim_Ahmed I just wanted to let you know I got into UC Davis vet school! I was waitlisted so I didn’t think I would get in but I did!! Now I really need to utilize your study techniques so I don’t fall behind 😂
This is great to hear!!! Must be such a relief knowing you dont have to go through this whole process again! Glad to see you commented to say, I'm happy for you and all the best :) ahaha hope my videos help for your studies!!
Assalam Allaykum! 👋
Salaam! I hope the video helps!
How many quizs should i generate from the note, like the way you generate the quizs as fast as well
However many you need or want :)
Hello Salim, I've watched every one of your videos, and they've helped me a lot. However, I have an issue. When I study, I understand what I am trying to learn, but after reading one sentence, I forget the previous sentence that I learned earlier, and I can't memorize it. Could you please help me out?
Could it be because of going too fast, or perhaps low focus, or even if it's fact-based, using Anki for spaced repetition and active recall is probably a good way to retain the information! As for memorising, active recall and spaced repetition are heavily backed to work. Because yeah it's the same for me at times, when I'm trying to memorize as opposed to just understand, it can often go in one ear and out the other, which is why I make sure to use Anki (not even sponsored by them I just love it) at med school to memorize abstract facts ahaha
@@Salim_AhmedThank you for your advice! I'll definitely try using Anki in my study routine for better retention.
Good luck!
Brother, tell us about yourself. I mean from where you belong? Your little bit biography.
I plan to do something like a Q&A around 100k subs, so hope you stick around for then bro!
Can i get a pin ?
I gotta have the brilliant text pinned 😂 but here's a reply and heart ahaha - i hope the video helps!
