My girl got me a cap but doesn’t have the letter inside, is this a fake? I’m comparing it to another one that is original and everything checks out, even the one that my girl hit has more parallel stitching than the original lol

I bought a new era cap from amazon and it seems that all the elements are correct. Only the new era logo is not on the dome and it is a little tighter on me but only a little. Is that normal in an original new era ?
I would like to see pictures which illustrate your point (you can upload them to imgur platform and share the link). If you cannot send them, based on your description, it should be OK. As long as the other elements are as described in the video, the position of the NY logo should not be a big deal.

The main difference between clones and real thing is that in the longrun you are going to understand why some things cost more money

By letter you mean the white tag? White tag has been deployed only in some models for a certain time. It's not a must for all models.
YM caps are fake or real?

You can differentiate by the texture, the texture of fake caps will never be the same as the original
