Thanks for the review, I've always thought the Esteban guitar to be more an entry level instrument but you really made that particular guitar shine. I appreciate the time you took to point out all of the exceptional features and fine craftsmanship of this beautiful instrument. I hope I can find one, being such a limited production run. Cheers and keep twanging!
Yes, it's amazing he did this without cracking up. But how he could sound so serious and even respectful while dissing it so hard is the true wonder. True comedic genius.
LOL I found this vid hilarious xD I own an Esteban, granted not one of these. It was a gift from my grandma... I'm torn between selling it because I know there's a LOT better out there, or keeping it solely because my grandma gave it to me the Christmas before she passed. That's really the sole reason I'm hanging onto it...
Indeed. I'm still holding onto one of the "Legend" editions or whatever... the black ones with the white trim. My mom bought it for me years ago as a Christmas gift. I respect Esteban as a guitarist, but it boggles my mind how he can so readily place his name on such inferior products. Some people are more likely to sell out than others, I suppose.
...but is it even worth trying to sell? When all is said and done, you might be better off just throwing it in the garbage can. Too bad these guitars aren't made of wood: if they were, you could at least use a fragmented guitar for kindling.
Don’t worry, in a couple of decades people will be pining for this and other Estebans like people pine for Harmony, Kay, and Stella (aka Sears guitars), today.
I particularly like the "mystery wood" neck description! I ordered an Estoban acoustic from HSN a few years ago and immediately returned it. The action was incredibly high and the frets buzzed all over the place. Perhaps mine didn't go through quality control and DEFINITELY wasn't stage ready! Save your money and buy a REAL acoustic guitar.
i had passed by a pawnshop and went in to check out instruments and saw this one! played it there, decided to take a chance and buy it. found out i like either elixir or d'addario strings on it but not martin strings. 6 years later and still love it, we recorded our blues folk EP "Blind" with it as well. #10556
My last aunt passed away back in 2015 and a few months ago my cousin decided to give me the last guitar my aunt had ever bought which was an Esteban Reflections Model, and everything that was included in the package such as case, stand, all the DVD's, books, and posters that came with it plus the G-10 amplifier, which I think she had bought on QVC or The Home Shopping Network. The guitar was nice to look at but wasn't any fun to play and after several hours of setting it up and getting it playable it actually sounded good and played great. The G-10 amp gave me a headache at the best settings, and I took the back off and inspected and decided I'd try a new speaker because what was in it was cheap and Chinese, if I'm allowed to say that anymore. I bought a 4.5" F-701 which is better Chinese and wow it actually sounds halfway decent for a small practice amp. Not bad if you have time, to set one up, but they require the work!
Better than no guitar in a kids hands. Kids can grow up and get something better. Thousands of grandmas bought these off tv for grandkids and I like to think that at least half of them fell in love with guitar and made it a lifelong hobby. Realistically, do any of y’all still go back and play your first guitar? How many of y’all still have your first guitar? Probably not many because it was a cheaper guitar that at some point you deemed to be a piece of junk and got rid of it. Would I choose my first guitar over what I have now? Of course not. Would I be playing better guitars today if I didn’t have a cheap guitar to get me started? No, I probably wouldn’t be playing guitar at all. That being said, I’m sure this is more of a hunk of shit than it even looks like.
IT doesn't sound too bad! I got one of the limited edition series that's red. I'm upgrading tuner pegs and putting bone bridge pins in it with lighter steel strings. I hope that'll help the intonation and dead sounding music that comes out of it. I might ask Modman Guitars for some revamp help. It's my first customization job- of buying a cheap informercial guitar and actually trying ot make it play and sound like a cheap Yamaha.
@@elroxmusic ok....hahaha but what’s the point? The video reviewer is being sarcastic in this video...and then here’s this commenter being serious and like spending money on a piece of crap guitar...not sarcastically. So I’m just asking, why flush the money down the toilet?

I tried it before I bought it. In tune, like new, bright sound. The action does get higher the closer you get to the bridge, but that's fixable.
