One thing the company is doing that I love: making the miniatures an optional buy. I wish more companies did this. If your game is good enough, it shouldn’t need minis. And if you love minis, it’s just an extra buy. Everyone wins.
I like your roundup at the end where you clearly stated how you feel about it and whether or not we should buy it. It's really irritating how many reviewers never clearly state whether they recommend something.
"He who controls the cards controls the game!" Always a joy to watch your game reviews. As a Dune fan since my teens (I was a teen in the Dark Ages, before the internet, a savage time) this game looks quite interesting. I too am vexed at COVID for ruining the opening of the film. Probably a Harkonnen plot
I'm glad that you mentioned the bit at the end of you wanting to go against the hype-train. Its a fantastic honest admission and it happens to most of us. Fantastic review and now I can finally believe the others with their hype!
Nailed it on your observations! My wife and I really dig it at two player, and I plan to explore what it's like if we use the Hagal AI with its solo rules for the two of us.
I realize it’s less of what you like, but I’d be curious to see how you feel about Lost Ruins of Arnak. It looks like the theme is really well implemented, despite being a straight Euro, and I’ve heard good things regarding solo play. Thanks as always for your reviews!
Thank you very much Covid... Epic you make my day. I'm totally in about this game considering the mix of wp and deck building. Solo play deserve? I will for sure play solo
One might have to be a Dune fan first before taking the plunge on this worker placement game. I bet the game publisher was hoping the movie woulda come out first.
I think being a fan helps, and I think you were right about the timing of the film's release. However, I don't think you have to be a fan of the property to enjoy it. My buddy Zac, one of the guys at the table, does not like Dune, yet he loved the game.

Happy to help. I appreciate your comment.

Indeed! Stupid Harkonnens! Thanks! Glad you liked the review.

Can't wait to bring this to the table!!
I think you’ll really enjoy it.

Thank you, sir. I think you’ll like it solo.

I thought it was meh. Civilization a New Dawn, which it's mechs were based on, is much better.
On the set of Dune all the actors said that Sting was a pain in the a$$ to work with.
But he had a lovely singing voice. So, it kind of evened out.
the "not so dune theme from Toto" shows up again!
Right. What can I say. It works.

Bacon is delicious, and so is this game.
You are not wrong, on either count.
