This is a great video! Incredibly well done and helpful. I have a 2019 Fury Orange Mustang GT PP2 and needed this type of info so I could go ahead and do some changes to my exhaust et al. Thank YOU!!!
These all sound great standing there. Even great for an occasional rip. But, think about that drone at highway speeds. Thats tough to live with on a day to day driving. I have a full exhaust on my 2017. Headers, resonator and full borla exhaust. I even had my shop make a custom flange to mount to the header collector. Its totally loud enough, especially when I rip it. And quiet when I back out of my driveway at 5am. These cars didnt have the adjustable exhaust. I still get those exhaust pops when I downshift or back off. I think the resonator keeps things under control. Sometimes too loud is obnoxious.
You call it drone. I call it the 2,000 Rpm moan. Its only an issue when you have a migraine or your hung over😣. Otherwise I can lug it around and be semi quite.
damn I have both the C&L h-pipe and axle back in my AM cart and I was wondering if I should do both or just the axle back since im in cali but holy shit I want em both lmao, that risk is feelin real worthwhile
Want it to really sing, put some long tubes on that bad boy. I have a 13 GT with stainless long tubes, catted xpipe (darn Illinois), stock resonators and a Roush axle back. It’s crazy loud and next will be a resonator delete to stop quieting it down.
I couldn't imagine Andy's Mustang any louder being his daily driver. One of our neighbors has an 2018 with long tube headers and his does sound pretty damn good
Unfortunately we did the Axle Back system first so I can't help with that. All it really did was increase the volume of the exhaust. Some say it makes it a little raspy but I didn't think it was to bad.
An x-pipe will give you a higher pitched sound more of an exotic sound. The h-pipe will give you more deeper tones more old muscle car. This is the easy answer Andy will give you a more detailed answer in a few minutes.
X v.s H The X and the H represents the shape of the "midpipe". X pipe allows the exhaust to scavenge in an X pattern and mix the exhaust pulses to better help pull exhaust thru quicker. The H pipe does the same thing as the X but the scavenging happens in the center section of the H pipe. Typically an X pipe will net more HP gains. However, this gain is very minimal. No more than a few HP on a mustang. The X pipe usually has a more raspy sound. The H pipe usually has a deeper tone. Sound levels DB wise? They are both loud and close to each other on that. I choose the H pipe for the simple fact I like more of a bass like deep tone. The x pipe just makes a mustang sound like a beat down chevy LS. Thanks for watching and stay tuned.🤙
@@DrivewayDreams perfect answer 👍 I really appreciate it! 18 GT 6mt in California. Wish I could do long tubes and throttle body but so many SMOG regs in CA.
After the resonator delete can the muffler(Flowmaster, MagnaFlow, Borla, or Corsa) choice compensate for a nice deep sound? Maybe larger pipes? Just trying to reduce the raspiness and give it more throat sound.
It may help some but the resonator's main job is to reduce the harsh (raspy) noises. With that said it may still be possible for a higher end muffler to give it that deeper sound your looking for.
Adding the Axle Back will be a huge difference. That mustang lives two houses down and I hear it start everyday. Even with the windows closed in my house.
Hi ! I have a mustang gt 5.0 like yours but mine is French because I am in France. I've been hesitating for a long time to put a roush h pipe with everything stock on the car but I have a lot of questions, is it worth it? thank you !
Worth is in the eye of the beholder. The h-pipe will help with exhaust scavenging. Getting exhaust gases out faster will allow better air flow through the entire process. Which net in some horsepower gains. The h-pipe over the resonator will save you a couple pounds of overall weight. Mainly the h-pipe will drastically increase the volume of your exhaust. If you are trying to anger your neighbors this is the way to go.
Yes most definitely! I now get Dizzy & Giddy every time I fire mine up with that Awesome sound it makes now! Oh, & Not forgetting the Massive Smile it brings too !!!
Andy is currently running C&L H pipe with C&L sport Axle Back exhaust. His car sounds amazing. I can hear his cold start everyday and it makes me jealous everyday.
@@DrivewayDreams I think I wrote it wrong sorry (english is not my first language) when you showed us the resonator delete sound, you had the axle back at the same time?
Drone is just the exhaust hitting a note and holding it driving you crazy. It's like a constant humming. On long drives it will definitely drive you crazy.
@@sba9027 nope just an annoying loud humming sound... It varies from car to car and exhaust to exhaust.... All depends on your tolerance level... It'll never hurt the engine, just your ears as he stated.
So a guy left a message one time saying. That he did mid muffler delete, resonator delete and then added Flowmaster super 10s and it sounded just like my 2019 charger scatpack. I have never personally heard this setup just a comment that had been left in the past. Thanks for checking out the video.
The difference is crazy. Never thought it would have changed that much. 🔥
Glad i found you guys videos .. installed these same mufflers with a steeda h pipe on my 2024 ..sounds amazing
3:50 internal child happiness coming through haha gotta love it!
Excellent content! How is the black finish holding up?
Looking good so far

Andy's Mustang does sound amazing and for the price you can't beat it.

Throwing these on this weekend. I have kooks catless long tubes, and x pipe.. wonder how it’ll sound lol
I would imagine pretty damn good 👍

Im curious as to how it sounds stock exhaust with the resonator delete

Best money I spent on the Roush H pipe ! Makes that Coyote sound as it should have done from the factory!
Could not agree more. That simple little modification transformed that car.

You got some long tube headers on that thing yet?
Negative
This might be a dumb comment but is this the C&L axle back muffler delete or with mufflers?
With mufflers. This car has the C&l sport Axle Back system
Nice H pipe is what I'm getting
This sounds insane. Definitely raised the volume.
I remove my sound tube. I think my exhaust sounds quieter but I'm not sure. Quiet in the cabin a little.
Omg my car is going to be so loud. I have an X-pipe and and muffler delete to install. Picking up my 2022 Mustang GT in middle April
Bro Andy is two houses down and I can hear him start his car like I am standing right there. It sounds damn good though.
I already have the H pipe, wondering if I should do this axel back or a muffler delete axel back. Any suggestions?

@@DrivewayDreams ok it works, you have answered my questions, now I am convinced I will install one soon, thank you very much and good afternoon!
Do you have the stick mufflers I have aftermarket mufflers and I don’t want it super loud in the cabin.
He has the C&L sport Axle Back as well. It does drone some but not horrible.
Question! So I have a muffler delete already. Will deleting my resonator make it more louder?
Yes it will be louder but it will also make it a lot more raspy. Some people like that some people don't
@@DrivewayDreams thanks
Will the resonator delete cause head dizziness or drone?
The drone increased dramatically when doing the resonator delete.
Yes most definitely! I now get Dizzy & Giddy every time I fire mine up with that Awesome sound it makes now! Oh, & Not forgetting the Massive Smile it brings too !!!
I call Andy a show off every time he starts his car. His cars sounds so damn good
Can you do a resonator delete on its own without any parts?
You will have to replace the section of pipe where the resonator used to be
No you need to weld it
So what is your setup now?
Andy is currently running C&L H pipe with C&L sport Axle Back exhaust. His car sounds amazing. I can hear his cold start everyday and it makes me jealous everyday.
So you have in this video both axle back and resonator delete? Or just resonator delete without the axle back?
Yes this video is both the Axle Back and resonator delete (h-pipe)
What are you thought do like it or no
@@DrivewayDreams yes I really like it, I'm searching for a deeper sound to my mustang gt 🥵
The Axle Back alone sounded great. We have a video for that also. With both its pretty loud.
@@DrivewayDreams I think I wrote it wrong sorry (english is not my first language) when you showed us the resonator delete sound, you had the axle back at the same time?
I have the same exhaust. With a h pipe. But my exhaust don't pop.

What do yall mean by droning and it causing head dizziness

Does droning mess up your engine or what im asking is if basically fucks up the car in anyway? Im thinkin of doing a resonator delete to my mustang
Drone literally is just the noise your exhasut gas makes echoing in the exhaust pipe. It will not effect anything except your ears.
@@sba9027 nope just an annoying loud humming sound... It varies from car to car and exhaust to exhaust.... All depends on your tolerance level... It'll never hurt the engine, just your ears as he stated.

I want this same setup on my 2021 10 spd mustang was wondering if it droned and if so is it bad
Andy did say it drones pretty good. But he also drives his car like an asshole so it may not be as bad for you.
Definitely not going to delete my resonators. Way too loud and obnoxious for a streetcar.
Everyone definitely knows when he goes to work at 630am
