We are very happy to present a varnam in Kanakāngi on Lord Gaṇesha, on this auspicious day of Vināyaka Chaturthi.

The violins sing! Though there is no vocal music, we can follow every syllable as if they are singing it. The varnam is a lesson in Kanakangi raga lakshanam. Thanks to all of you for this aural and visual treat. Happy Vinayaka Chaturthi 🙏🏿
கனகாங்கியில் பல பல வர்ண பரிமாணங்களை அமைத்து ஆனந்தலஹரியாக கோர்த்து ஸொர்ணமாலையாக கணபதிக்கு வர்ணத்தை அர்ப்பணித்துள்ள ஸொர்ணலதாவிற்கு ஸொர்ணாங்கி ஸமர்ப்பித்தாலும் மிகையாகாது. சுபஸொர்ணமாயிருக்கிறது. மீண்டும் மீண்டும கேட்டுக்கொண்டே இருக்கிறேன். இயற்கை காட்சியின் ரம்மியம் கனகாங்கிக்கே கனகம் சேர்த்தார் போலாச்சு . ஸாக்ஷாத் காமாக்ஷியின் கடாக்ஷத்துடன் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதென்று தெள்ளத்தெளிவாய் தெரிகிறது. Kudos to sisters. The violin recital of kanakangi varnam is அபாரம் by both. Location is too good. Blessings to both

Kanakangi- that which has a golden body, as the name suggests is soft and strong. It is our fortune that we live in the generation of the Akkarai sisters, who are excellent vocal and violin artists and, gifted composers. This one, composed by the younger of the two is a masterpiece, which, once admitted to the soul, becomes a sort of eternal spirit. It connects God Vinayaka and my soul. My troubled heart is solaced and refreshed by this exquisite Varnam.
a Composer par excellence, a prodigy, can only create such kinds of masterpieces. sornalatha is a genius. very soothing to hear.
The crystal clear running water, the greenery is a treat to the eyes.
May Lord Ganesha shower His blessings to my dearies.
The backdrop is extremely soothing to the eyes and adds to the visual and aural pleasure. Well done Swamy sir!

The Sisters have been supremely blessed to produce such divine music. Kudos to Akkarai Sornalatha who is emerging as a composer merit. This Varnam in a rare ragam is a benchmark composition of hers which is studded with scintillating swara patterns. The execution is crisp and emotive, hence feel like listening to this on repeat mode! God bless the sisters.

I am overwhelmed by the reverence with which the two sisters have treated this glorious ragam. As another fan has already commented, while there are no vocals to this performance, the way it is played, you can absolutely sense how it would flow should someone sing it. Also, the majesty of the settings is a fitting compliment to the beauty of this rendition. Sincere thanks. Everytime I listen to this, I'm compelled to decide between closing my eyes and contemplating the beauty of the rendition versus opening my eyes and witnessing the beauty of the surroundings. Thank you!!

After hearing this yesterday evening live in Adyar, was curious to find out, who had composed this Varnam (honestly ..guessing it could be Lalgudi sir). Landed here to have the pleasant surprise.
