- Join us today in front of the John Harris House…in Harrisburg?! You might be asking, “What does this have to do with Baltimore?” Join us to discover more than one connection between our two cities. Thanks for watching and we are excited for another year of Five Minute Histories videos!
This is our series called "Five Minute Histories." Every week, we’ll record a short video about a different historic place in Baltimore and post it on our Facebook page and TH-cam channel.

It’s interesting to learn about Baltimore’s connections up north in Quakerdom. I like imagining what it was like 100 years ago to ride a train to a nearby city like Harrisburg.
Yes, us too! Thanks for watching.
Happy new year! Thanks for another interesting video! When my wife & I lived in MD, we always enjoyed going up to Harrisburg for the annual BrewFest. I remember seeing that historic house, but, unfortunately, we never visited it.
Maybe next visit!
Excellent! Thanks!
Lots of ties to Alexandria, Virginia. Of particular interest, the Janney/Hopkins family.
Didn't know this!
Um. Pennsylvanians would ask you, "Where is Lang-CAS-ter?? Did you mean LANK-s-ter?"
Well said!
😂😂😂Yes they would ask that question!
Whoops!
You mentioned Mr Elder.... Eldersburg???
