Luke, I’ve been listening to you for many years. I just wanted to say thank you. You don’t even know how much stuff I’ve surpassed with your music. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
A beautiful étude and a wonderful performance as usual, Luke! I just love this setting as well! The stained glass above adds a surreal touch to the obviously aged building. The piano, the pianist, and the music are the perfect heart and soul here. The take at 3:40 is breathtaking!!! Bravo!!! 😊🎹
Hi Luke ! I'm not sure what's wrong but I am getting notifications for your live streams/posts et al between 20 to 24 hours after the fact. Not that you can do anything about it but just to let you know. What an engrossing, surging, compelling etude which literally stopped me breathing for the duration of the work ! Gave new meaning to breathtaking 😉! I know I've shared this with you before but I'm astounded by the remarkable way you are communicating your focus on the execution of a work these days. I was very aware of the almost dispassionate, distanced performances in the past. It was then that I realised that a video of a pianist should not only display his pianistic skills (excellent as it may be) and the accompanying audio experience but a vitally important element is his body language and facial expressions. He should almost become an actor interpreting the emotions his fingers are coaxing/luring out of a piece of masterful composition. This is a skill that you increasingly convey with so much success these days. I believe this is the maturity I referred to in a previous comment. Your interpretations are definitely becoming more visually satisfying with each performance. By no means am I suggesting OTT distracting gestures such as a Lang Lang but something electrifyingly captivating like the late Gould and - no, let me stop there. I think you know exactly where I'm coming from when I say branding and interesting characteristics. Since my path crossed yours, I had a dream of being your mentor on the visual side and sending you to a top notch drama school for a semester just to make you aware of the presence one can create by being aware of the performance possibilities innate to your physicality. Use your surfing skills as a starting point . . . Hey, now isn't it just like me to go on and on. Sorry. I guess it just illustrates how much I care for the successful unfolding of your career . . .
Oh wow! STUNNING ! 👏 What an impressive performance Luke, I am speechless! 😶😯😮 1000 times bravo! You rock !!! How are you doing Luke? I've been wanting to tell you for several months now, this time I'm not forgetting, you'll be happy 😉 (I think😊) : my daughter asks me almost every morning, when we're on our way to school, "mommy, can we listen to Luke, please?" so those mornings, I do it and plug Spotify into the car, let's go for the Luke Faulkner playlist! And, with a big smile on my face, I say to myself "it's good, his Education is successful!" 😉😁😍 😘
@@LukeFaulkner Haha, yeah it's so cute 😍 😁 and I'm proud of her for that, 7 years old and be able to appreciate classical music 👍 She particularly likes the nutracker suite "Danse of the sugar plum fairy" that you recently published in winter morning, we listen to it on repeat some mornings ! 😂 I'm well too, Luke, thank you ! Can't wait to discover all those news things !! Have a good evening Luke 😘
Oh dear I fell asleep and missed it. It's incredibly dramatic and wonderful and stupendous. Thank you so much for sharing with us these rare pieces. As usual you were brilliant. Warm Thanks from Ros 😊
I have loved this piece ever since I bought a 10" LP recording of Boris Zhelinsky play it. I have three recordings now but your performance easily tops all of them. Thank-you.

You're incredibly kind! I really appreciate that, my friend.
I second that.
Felix Blumenfeld is greatly underrated.
He really is.
My brain is having serious difficulty processing the sheer volume of emotions he brought out of that instrument 🔥
It's one of the most emotionally intense pieces I've ever played.
@@LukeFaulkner The piece and the performer are worthy of each other my friend

Truly amazing performance, so deep! We need more Luke Faulkner!! Greetings from Russia!!!
Aww - thank you, my friend! Greetings from the UK!
He was Horowitz's teacher.
He was indeed! :)
Great job. I really liked this one!
Thanks so much, Chris!
Beautifull !
❤
Oh my god :D
Beautiful!!! Luke that was really cool!!
Is that yours??
Haha - alas no, Ricardo! It's Blumenfeld.
@@LukeFaulkner you have the same level of those classical musicians, really 🫡
Интересное прочтение😊
Мне кажется кода должна быть более espressivo
Это настолько выразительно, насколько я могу это сыграть 😅
did blumenfeld steal this from bortkiewicz op24 impromptu? or was it the other way around lol
Haha - I'm glad someone spotted this! Blumenfeld was first by about 20 years, plus the Bortkiewicz becomes more Scriabinesque later on.
How old were you when you started?
6 years old :)
Not feeling that one pal yours is better, just my opinion
Haha - thanks, Ian!
