- Ständchen (D957/4) has perhaps my favourite of Schubert's melodies. Originally for voice and piano, this is my piano solo arrangement and the sheet music can be found here: www.lukefaulkn...

thank you for providing sheet music! as a suggestion, you might try putting "(arr. L. Faulkner)" in the title for your own arrangements. Might make it stand out a bit to people in search results and also make it more likely people look at and buy the sheet music link you provide (rather than just searching imslp, as I did before realizing this wasn't the Liszt arrangement and then coming back to check the comments to find what arrangement it is).
My personal life is falling apart, but at least I have this to look forward to.

Luke Faulkner is arguably the best pianist in the world. No antics. An accomplished professional who gets on with it and makes beautiful music.
No "tinkling" or "pounding ". A sense of complete decisiveness and mastery over the composition and instrument is conveyed through his fingers. Like a sixth sense connection taming the keys to obey his intent. Bravo Luke!!

Such a tragedy a great genius like Schubert was taken from us so young. Unusual interpretation but still nice.

I heard this yesterday and I thought: I don’t actually remember the echoing of the phrases of the main theme, and a quick look into my “Urtext Edition” scores (I am a musicologist) told me that they aren’t there. Kudos to you! No one can know if Schubert would have sanctioned this, but I sure do enjoy your version immensely, thank you so much for breathing some new life into “old” music that should be enjoyed so much more by younger music lovers!
