I feel like we need to play a faster paced offense for him to succeed. Scoot is very similar to Russ in regard to getting to the rim and having players run with him . If that happens then he could definitely have a breakout year and putting up 10 assists a night
I agree. Chauncey said he wanted them to play faster last year but were one of the worst in the league in that regard. If Scoot can learn to slow down and control his pace, and be quick when he needs to without fouling, this team will find success.
To really get the best out of scoot blazers need a coach that’s a lot better with offense. Think this also goes for sharpe, we have athletic slashers and billups has them standing in corners or playing iso ball like dame is still out there. Billups would make a great defensive minded assistant coach.
My guess is Chauncey finishes out his contract this year, and doesn't come back after that. I don;t think that'll hurt much, so as long as they get a guy who uses Scoot/ Sharpe better next season, I'll be stoked
If Scoot can learn better to turn up the pace and change it, he can be nasty. He's strong. He's fast. I saw someone compared him to Russell Westbrook, which I don't see far off. He needs to learn to finish MUCH better though. I loved when he would drive n dish and would watch through my fingers when he's go for a layup. I believe this year will be a much better version of Scoot than last!
He's more John Wall than Russell Westbrook imo. He's just explosive like Russ, that's really everything else leans more towards Wall with better IQ and better real passing instead of the bail-out jumpass assists Russ was always known for.
Definitely! Last thing we'd want is he has another rough year and they have to consider drafting a PG in the draft next year if they don't get the number 1 pick
@@SUPERHUMAN-e3r If he was playing with guys who could hit their shots, he would've averaged easily 6.5+ assists. If he gets those shooting numbers up a little, and is a bit more aggressive he'll be great
Plus you gotta understand scoot is trying to insert the game not do whatever he wants that why I think chancery billups as coach will be Greta for scoot Henderson development cause he was a true point guard himself but the thing is scoot has the athleticism and so he has a decent middy game so all scoot have to do is to combine those aspect of him game that what I am trying to do I have 34 inch vert and my midrnage game is very good but I been struggling cause I don’t use my athleticism so I just have to combine my game
@@pnwdevv yes but Ant & Ayton are playing for extension and will not want a developmental player hindering that. Also this is Billups last year of a contract he didn’t sign to be a tanking coach. I expect for them to allow him to make a name for himself by actually completing. With bird rights and the new CBA teams have no incentive to rush player development and consequently max contracts. It honestly makes more sense for use to raise Ants value for a sign and trade then to rush scoot.
Bro is twenty years old. TWENTY YEARS OLD. Why would he have to break out this year? Like bruh. My hopes for his season are just constant improvement. People got no mf patience these days. Dude got drafted a teenager
I agree people need patience. But I think when you draft him as the point guard of the future, and saying things like "he'd go number 1 in most other drafts" you'd wanna see at least something from him in his first 2 years.
@pnwdevv depends bro. Trae came in Slow. Plenty guys come in slow. Especially when you're literally the youngest guy in the league. Be patient man sheesh
Yeah I agree, there is some benefit considering Chauncey was a successful PG in the league. So I'm fine if he stays this last year, but would be upset if they sign him to an extension
Probably like 41 percent from the midrange he has a Chris Paul John wall hybrid play style and let not forget he has a fricking 46 inch vert like he could become the mj of all pg in his prime

@@pnwdevv exactly
Jalen Suggs is a perfect comp for how his development could go. It takes a few years for point guards
100% Agree
I expect for him to develop at his own pace from the bench instead of being pressured into a break or bust position.
Fair to note he did play better in the starting lineup last year compared to off the bench statistically speaking
