    Scoot has similar numbers as Russ rookie year but doesn’t have a KD to play with.

      @CourtsideChase  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      Exactly, they're both playmaking guards that are really athletic. Even that team with rookie russ and kd only won 23 games. It definitely takes some time to figure it all out

      That ain’t necessarily a good thing, I mean I don’t think that Westbrook would be nearly as good as he was in todays league.

    So hyped for him in the next two years! He’s got feel, and he’s got the flashes. He’s going to be special, and Portland is hyped🔥

    Give Scoot more time to adjust to NBA coverages and give him a healthy lineup that can shoot the ball... he has the motor, just needs to translate. It definitely will.

    Thanks for this video. I watched the entire season. He wanted more than 15 assists that game, but was given some rest. I can't be more happy with him as a player. Energy doesn't show on the stat sheet, and he has frustrations on himself which is a big motivator. This dude is the head of a very strong rookie class this year. I believe management did a good job "manufacturing" losses this year. When one person came back from injury, they silently benched another player. I felt like this added to the learning process of the team. And thankfully Billups is in the know and has to just navigate what is given to him on any certain game. Two tanking seasons in a row! Let's go Blazers this next year is a fresh new start and time to build chemistry.

    • @CourtsideChase
      @CourtsideChase  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Of course, thank you for watching! I agree his energy along with a lot of other things don't show up on the stat sheet. They definitely went out of their way to manufacture wins and I can't disagree with their decision knowing how stacked the west is. I still have a ton of faith in Scoot and honestly multiple other players the blazers has. They will get another top pick this year and will for sure look a lot better than they did this year. Blazers are one of my favorite teams to watch when everyone is actually on the court lol

      @@CourtsideChase Plus .. a big plus. He has a flow with the ball. It's like he's one with the ball. Sure he had a crazy amount of turn overs. But that's because he's creative. And creativity cannot be measured. Kyrie Irving allowed himself to take second seat to Doncic, and said I'll play defense to up my game. Scoot plays that already and its a perfect marriage of like you said in the video letting him fail, in a throw away season. Billups is perfect for this marriage of growth. I didn't say this earlier but I've got two jerseys hanging up in my closet, Garnett timberwolves and Scoot, i couldn't buy into dame even with the stats and commitment to being here in Portland. There's an obvious love for the game that is amazing at high talent. Let it continue to grow!

      @@bennyd8343 Defense is a valuable tool in any game or sport. What did he do in the playoffs again? With a Champion team, he went out like he was still with the Blazers, in the first round lol. Give the ball up Dame, if you played like a point guard, and coach Billups wanted you to, maybe just maybe you could win without a star studded roster.

      @@bennyd8343 Favorite Dame game was game 4, 2019 wcf. He had 12 assists and 28pts. Wow, gave myles leonard the best game of his career, because he was point guard. If he played like this normally, I could buy into Dame. But since he is a cry baby and doesn't play defense, I never bought into him. Does it look cool when a shot goes in? sure, but you don't win looking cool.

    Portland should be so excited to have such an athletic guard who has a great feel for the game. Social media presses people to make assertions before we have time to reflect on the season, let alone a career. He is NOT a bust at this moment, to say so is to say you don't know ball.

    Yeah, Scoot definitely was stuck in his head for the first couple months of the season and he really struggled to get in a groove - but I think he’ll have a great summer of training and skill development, and he’ll hit the ground running in October. He’s far from a bust, he’ll be a really solid NBA player for a long time, and maybe a star.
